SOME WISE WORDS xxx
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

i love this pic.
i have the real pic in my room
this is just as good
"isn't it supposed to be like this? the glory of first love, and all that. it's incredible, isn't it, the difference between reading about something, seeing it in the pictures, and experiencing it?"---twilight
its pretty good, although i don't love impressionism, its good. did u do it with oil pastels?? i hope you meant copying as in looking at it and figuring out how to draw it: this is a good way to learn drawing. if u traced it-not so good b/c its better ending up with a piece of crap and looking at it and figuring out what to do next to make the next one better. i can draw pretty well, and i learned from the looking at and drawing as best i can method. copying doesn't tell you quite what you did wrong, it just says what the original artist did right, which defeats the purpose of even pulling out a piece of paper, b/c you could have just stared at the artwork until you went crosseyed. Don't mean to sound too harsh, but tracing can't teach u to draw 4 real.
I love van gogh! So, I would be most upset if someone ruined one of his pictures. And considering this is my favorite, I would be doubly upset.
Luckily for you, you did a really nice job of this! ^^ It really has the same feel to it as the original did. Which is extremely hard to achieve, especially when it comes to Gogh's style.
Very, very nice. I'm jealous.
*gold star for you*
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.
Thankyou so much! those are such nice reviews, and i was terrified of putting this peice on here because van gogh is such a famous artist i wasnt sure waht the reaction would be. just to let you know i did not trace this, at all, i had to study it in my art class then i had to do it, it was hard but so much fun, and i used pastels and oil pastels aswell, tahnkyou for your reviews!

I thought that this was beautiful! Very good and you are so freaking talented! I wish that I was that talented. I can only doodle stupid hearts and smiley faces and other little things like that. Emphasis on little.

This was good, although not my absolute favorite of your pieces.
I'm not a big fan of pastels because they always leave white spots. It's a shame that you couldn't capture Van Goghs use of the paint and texture. His work is so smooth and thick, so pastels probably weren't the best choice if you were trying to copy it.
On the other hand, the texture you got out of it brought a new style to the artwork.
It looks remarkably like the actual painting. It must have taken a while. Do I remember correctly that there was a little town at the bottom of the painting, or am I thinking of something else?
