First sentences are always really important and even if you're planning to change the way you open your story post your first sentences in bold :)

For inspiration, I opened Maximum Ride by James Patterson and fell in love with the first sentence:

The funny thing about imminent death is that it really snaps everything into perspective.



Now, as for MY first sentence:

"I stepped out of the car, the gravel crunching beneath my feet, and followed mother into the familiar house."

Not as exciting but...what about you guys? :D
