So, in my English 12 class we have a student teacher finishing her practicum, and right now we are doing a unit on creative writing.

She assigned an activity that I thought would be a really good writing prompt.

She had a container of words that could be used to describe the tone of a story, and she had each student pull a word and use it in a story about taking the dog for a walk in the park.

So, I thought I would pass the activity onto you guys, and let you have fun with it. :)

WORDS:

crazy
boring
disconnected
funny
angry
serious
solemn
playful
annoyed
loving
indifferent
calm
cheerful
eccentric
hopeful
humorous
innocent
mischievous
sad
tense
tragic
urgent

Have fun!

When I finish mine, I'll post it. :)

"The day, which was one of the first of spring, cheered even me by the loveliness of its sunshine and the balminess of the air. I felt emotions of gentleness and pleasure, that had long appeared dead, revive within me. Half surprised by the novelty of these sensations, I allowed myself to be borne away by them, and forgetting my solitude and deformity, dared to be happy."
— Mary Shelley, Frankenstein
