Weird. Not even lying, say it twenty times.

That and the word orange.

[pre]You know what's funny, if you just say a word over and over and over and over and over and over again, any word sounds weird. Or if you see a word written over and over and over and over and over again, it looks really strange.

it (really!)
drizzle
guzzle
stroodle
skulk
floccinaucinihilipilification (it's real word, i promise! it's pronounced flockə-nowsə-nəkələ-pələ-fək-ation. say it out loud fast, it's hysterical)[/pre]

That word actually makes me feel sick, Adnamarine. It's one of the longest words in the English language.

Verfremdungseffekt.

You only need to say it once for it to sound totally weird.

It's a word relevant to the theatre practices of Bertolt Brecht and is a way of referencing the effect he wished his work to have on audiences -- to distance them emotionally from the action on stage and have them watch objectively instead so that they could take on his political messages.

Shrew is also pretty strange.

~Volant~ wrote:fork. really, try saying it twenty times fast. It's a weird word.

*nods hard* That word provides me with way too much entertainment.

Debilitating is also a good one. Some poor girl tried to say it on the radio today, but it came out as "deliberating" instead, and completely messed up the meaning of whatever she was trying to say.

And assuage is another nice one to try and say twenty times in a row ;)

Awkward is still the most awkward word ever.
Seriously! A word containing "wkw"? That's awkwardtastic.
