My Blue Crayon committed suicide

An ocean away from loneliness,
I share in the plight of failure,
I use my blue crayon to speak of solitude.

Choose your crayon, make up a title, and write a quickie poem about it! I got this idea when I read Snoinks post about color syllables. It was not what I expected. I guess a was looking for color metaphors.

The first sentence is the definition as I apply it to the color. The second sentence is a bit of backround as to why, the third is the word I chose for the color, and the tilte is a creative summation.

CAN YOU WRITE A QUICKIE POEM ABOUT YOUR FAVORITE COLOR OF CRAYON?

My white crayon is an art critic,
but it doesn't know what it likes.
Maybe if it has studied psychology
it's self-analysis would show us,
but in the box of crayons it gives two thumbs down to everything.
"It's all too colourful," the reviews say.

I really wish the poet in me hadn't died and left me to do this alone.
Gone, gone from New York City,
where you gonna go with a head that empty?
Gone, gone from New York City,
where you gonna go with a heart that gone?

My Yellow Crayon is a Joy to All!

A happy ray of sunshine,
I bask in its warmth each day,
It brings joy to those who have none.
They haven't invented the missile that can kill an ideal.

NO one is allowed to call dibs on crayons....

I chose blue, if anyone else wants to do blue, and put me to shame with your metaphoric proweness, which probably WILL be superior to mine, then by all means, do blue.

Same goes for yellow. or pink. or chartuse. or.... well you get the idea

The Black crayon is an outcast.

Shunned by those he once shared a box with,
Claims from others he isn't a "real" color,
Away from others he stays,
But he is happy yet.

Green Shores of Home

green is of meadows and
open ground, of endless horizons;
green length and breadth,
shadow and depth -
the green crayon is a sea in sunshine,
all peace and quietude.
Got a poem or short story you want me to critique?

There is only one success: to be able to spend your life in your own way, and not to give others absurd maddening claims upon it. (C D Morley)

Red Anger

Red is of fiery hells
Etirnity of anger welled up inside Okay I know its not spelled right
Of red I scribble my hopeless rants

A hero isn’t defined by winning. Loads of heroes die in the effort. Most of them never get any recognition. No, a hero is just somebody who does the right thing when it would be far, far easier to do nothing.

The unknown crayon is overwhelmed,
Too smudged with other colours,
Too lost in the stifling crowd.
Changing to please others,
And forgetting the true self.
Sometimes green, or blue.
Changing to gain favour,
Yet never truly gaining it.

The unknown crayon is the false friend.

(Okay, I know strictly speaking it's personification, not metaphors.)
I've learned so much from people who never existed - Unknown

The brown crayon feels nothing.

The brown crayon is empty
For it is dreary and plain
No one loves the color of dirt

Like a crayon scribbling on a crisp white sky
or writing dreams across the ocean, space and time
all done up as one gift on Christmas morning,
my lips press secrets into a man's smooth skin
in the light of dawn and the star-strewn night
and receive too secrets shared from his.

Violet Hope

The violet crayon stands tall and sharp in its corner,
for hardly anyone to see.
Too stuck to dig out, so it goes overlooked,
But it sees its potential.
What a queen it could be.
