he extends a hand for a shake

"So, Ivy, where are you from?" Ari asks, sure she's a tourist. "Me, I live 15 kilometers north of here, on Kibbutz Ketura."
He takes another sip of the beer. He doesn't particularly like it, its not "his" brand, its some American beer that doesn't taste all that good to him; but he drinks out of politeness.

The blond boy rejoins the rest of the group, now holding a drink.

"Wassup, kids?" he says to all.

He then nods at the newcomers.

"Hey. How's it going?" Ari says politely. He is getting bored, because this party is full of a bunch of stuck up businessmen and their families, mostly foreign. "So, I thought this was supposed to be a party," he said, slightly irritated.

"Best time to make a choice is now. But then again, you don't care, do you? I'm Jack, by the way."

She accepts it, and her handshake is firm, mainly to spite her mother.

"So, Ivy, where are you from?" Ari asks, sure she's a tourist. "Me, I live 15 kilometers north of here, on Kibbutz Ketura."

"Nice," she says. "I'm just another pesky American tourist. But don't worry, I'll be out of here by next week."

The first hint of a smile touches on the girl's lips as the blonde boy rejoins them. The girl is almost pretty when she smiles.

"Hey, don't worry about it. Most people here like American tourists. I do. They're pretty cool, usually. Even if when they try to speak Hebrew their accents are funny," Ari says, chuckling to himself about the last tourist he met, and how horrible their accent was. He took another sip of the so-called beer.

The blond boy looks around.

"Damn. I thought this was supposed to be a party, too. Parties with adults ain't parties. I've got an idea. Let's just take their liquor and get out of here. We can walk back down the beach, get drunk, go swimming. I really feel like swimming."

"Sounds good to me, ahh....sorry, I forgot your name...," says Ari. He pauses for a moment and said, "wait a minute, I have the perfect idea, follow me." he said, quickly grabbing a couple beers, and heading down to the beach again.

The blond boy grabs a whiskey bottle and follows Ari. He finishes off the cigarette he's holding and gets rid of the butt.

The young man reaches the grassy area where he saw the movement, but he finds nothing

The girl hesitates for the first time. Her mind flashes to what is probably going on at the beach house, and the left corner of her mouth lifts. Oh yes, it will be worth it.

"I'm coming," she says, following Ari and the blonde boy.

A short ways off is the grass where she saw the man. There was no sight of him, but there was another boy.

"Hey," she calls to him.

The blond guy turns and sees the guy in black as well. He waves.

We're practically all online at the same time, huh?

Ari stops, and turns and sees the third addition to their little party. He stops and introduces himself.
"Hi. The name's Ari. We were just gonna go down and have a little party on the beach. wanna come?" Ari asks. He stands with his new found acquantences, and waits for a reply.

The young man returns the wave and procedes to walk down to the group
'Hello there' is all he says.

"Hey," says the blond boy.

There's an awkward pause.

"Ya like whiskey?"

He holds out the bottle. He seems buzzed.
