Whilst we've had our fair share of zombies on YWS I'm pretty sure we've ever had anything like this.
Zombies are fun, everybody loves zombies (mostly) but Slow Zombies in a modern setting have always annoyed me - with our tech there is no way slow zombies win against rifles.

So is anyone for swords versus zombies - full story to be decided later

....I like the idea. I'm down!
You're new? Great seas! Why haven't you gone to the Buddy System yet?

You're dealing with writers. The words "normal" and "usual occurrence" do not compute.

Heck yeah! I love Zombies! The movies are kinda too scary, but Zombie books are da bomb! I love this idea! I agree with you. I hate slow zombies. Ever seen "Dawn of the Dead"? The zombies in that one are fast when they're fresh, then get slow as they decompose. But they're all bloody and vicious at first. I also like the sword idea. Although, I think a cricket bat is also a good weapon for zombies. ;) (referencing "Shaun of the Dead")

Millions of miles from home
In the darkness before the dawn
In the swirling of this storm
When I'm rolling with the thunder
But bleed from thorns
Leave a light, a light on.

To see if this entices any more people or brings further encouragement from those who expressed interest.

Rough plot: you are an inhabitant of Rome be it citizen, slave or foreigner. One morning you awake to a city in flames - the dead have risen and the Urban Cohorts are no match for them. Many abandoned their posts and those that stood firm died, adding their numbers to the ranks of the undead. You and a group of others manage to make it out of the city and must find a safe harbour. The obvious choice is the Legions who sit beyond Italy's borders - Gaius Julius Caesar sits at the head of an army in the half conquered - will you go to him or make your own place to call home?

I got dibs on being a foreigner. lets just say that there has been a nation-wide emergency and the other nations have posted a border guard, so no one can get in or out from Rome, so I'm trapped. Not that the infection has spread that far yet anyway, or there would not be any point in a border guard since the zombies would have broken through anyway. How does that sound? Cause I need an excuse for my character not to just leave the country
