Merde...
Merde...
"Vorget about ze Jazmine! We muzt hurry!" Eric wasted no time in abandoning his cookie sheet shield in place of Annie's hand, tugging her along to the stairs as the cutlery around them swung into position to fricassee them dozens of times over.
"Oh, Eric. Don't you want to play? We can play all day. Play...A love game."
Eric stopped in his tracks, fists clenched. "Mai toutes les planètes dans l'univers être collés dans votre imbécile!"
Jasmine leaped from the floor, hovering several yards in the air. Her voice boomed with thunder. "HOW DARE YOU INSULT THE GREAT BEINGS BEYOND!" The knives dropped to the floor with a great clatter, Jasmine spread her arms, and purple fire billowed from her eyes like demonic fire.
"Annee, I zuggezt we run now."
"I zuggest you're right!" Annie took off up the stairs as Jasmine cast fire at them, catching onto the wood of the stairwell.
"Claude, pleaze produze a barrier of zorts!"
"FLAAF!" Its tail glowed a brilliant purple as it created a light screen to shield off the hallway.
Jasmine approached through the fire. "Tragic, tragic, tragic, how little you understand about the multiverse. Unspeakable (unspeakable) how your tricks and slights of hand conduct your business in this world, yet how easily we, those beyond your being, see through your collective of idiosyncrasies." Jasmine shook her head and touched the light screen, shattering it. "You are merely one of the consumable whole, a conduit of greater being awaiting consumption as a lamb in wait at a guillotine."
There was a moment of stunned silence.
"Perhaps if you were children, then your minds would be less convoluted with trivial corruption. Surely you cannot suffer so long due to the misdeeds of your producers." Jasmine peered at Annie, through her eyes and deep within her. "Yes, before your being was consumed by your mother's fatigue...we must regress...return to the point of conventional collective thought. This is just the answer!" She laughed.
"Annie, get behind me," demanded Eric. His skin was white as snow, drained of complexion in fear.
"Yes, Annabelle Leigh, cower behind the coward!"
The shadows in the halls amassed around them. "Perhaps you would like to see your friends once more..."
