The World in Which you Live:You are an Arma Virumque an elite warrior trained to fight and destroy the beast known as The Shadows. Long ago the world was overrun by something known as The Corruption, a sort of poison that has been corrupting the world. No one is certain of the source of The Corruption and only a few weapons can work on the creatures that it spawns. That's where you come in. you work for the torch Bearers a company that to some extent privatized the war against The Corruption. They developed the first Viventibus Telum living weapons made by a combination of magic and nano-technology. As an Arma Virumque it is your duty to destroy The Shadows and stop the spread of The Corruption.

Some History:The Torch Bearers are a large organization and developed the first Viventibus Telum, the living weapons. As such they privatized the defense of humanity. The Arma Virumque began with a three person hyper elite squadron, quickly they helped turn back the Corruption and create places of sanctuary for mankind. The Torch Bearers began recruiting as soon as they realized some could control the Viventibus Telum better than others. Certain humans developed an ability in magic young making them prime suspects to be Arma Virumque. The hyper elite three actually know head the three departments Scouts, Eliminators, and Containers.

The Viventibus Telum: Your weapon develops with you and is more than just a weapon. Each Arma Virumque is equipped with two handles that take the form of the weapon that best suits the wielder, and armor that adapts to the wearer.

Playable Characters
Spoiler! :
Arma Virumque: An Arma Virumque joins the war as early as the age of 16. That's when they can first join a squadron, or if their especially confident became a squad leader. Wielding your weapons requires focus to a certain extent. for instance if you're suffering from mental fatigue your weapons may not function. An Arma Virumque's armor enhances it's wearers physical skills making them stronger, faster, and granting them higher endurance. Most can perform some sort of magic specifically summoning small crude tools or healing. An Arma Virumque joins one of the three branches headed by the Torch Bearers.
Scouts- Fast but not really the strongest used to find places for the Eliminators to strike.
Eliminators: Extremely strong sent out to eliminate the Corruption wherever it is found.
Containers:Their job is basically guard duty fending off the Shadows while they wait for the Torch Bearers to set up new bases.

The Shadows: Most Shadows are little more than beast inflicted by the poison of The Corruption. Then there are a short few that once were human and retained their intelligence. Those that fit this mold tend to be like generals over the more simple minded Shadow Beast. They can travel within shadows and flourish within places that have been taken hold of by the corruption. Some of the more intelligent Shadows still resemble their human forms and use this to lure humans in to a false sense of safety.

The Deserters: There are those that once served the Torch Bearers but left them on personal vendettas. Some search for a cure to The Corruption others are rumored to have been contaminated by it after fighting it for so long. Those that are rumored to be contaminated by it are now like feral beast but far more dangerous.

Magic in the World of Viventibus Telum: Most magic uses potions or something of the sort. The liquid of the potions can change the world in a small area such as opening portals. The potions also are used as explosives of varying sorts. A potions effect could be anything and as such most Arma Virumque have a wide range of potions.

Technology in the World of Viventibus Telum: Technology has advanced along side the discovery of magic. While almost all diseases are curable still nothing has been able to cure The Corruption just destroy it. Computers and such are highly advanced with most communications taking place via video call. Travel is easy due to portal potions and advanced vehicles primarily hover bikes and cars.

Appearance: She stands at 5'3, long black hair pulled back into a pony tail with a ribbon. She has creamy white skin and solid black eyes that tell you she means business. She wears combat boots with cargo pants and an unzipped camouflage jacket with a white tank top.

Form of Viventibus Telum: Two blades, the weapon clams around her hands and up her arm to her shoulders in a bluish red combination. Her weapons are naturally imbued with fire. But because she has absorbed her mothers weapon (See history) the weapons are also imbued with electricity and made her blades longer and lighter and easier to wield.

Personality: Jamie can be bloodthirsty and hell bent on revenge, easily holds grudges and does stupid things out of silent anger and hatred. But this is Jamie's darker moments, in her brighter moments she is extremely calm has an eye for detail and is a great strategist on the battlefield. Jamie thinks about her comrades safety above her own, and will be quicker to stay behind to help her comrades to escape then to think selfishly of herself. She is also a leader, and naturally has to do all these things, and because of her training a certain phrase, that she mumbles to herself from her training that always comes up. "Jamie, what is the next step?" as if a puzzle is never done until she knows it inside and out.

Her mother said that her father died in combat protecting her and Jamie when she was still a little girl, to young to remember. She destroyed almost the entire force sent against the company, Jamie's mothers body was later recovered and Jamie used a special function of her Viventibus Telum which allowed her to absorb her mothers weapon into her own. Upgrading the abilities of the weapon, Jamie swore to avenge her mother and friend by stopping the corruption anyway possible.

Up For romance: She needs someone to clamp to in her moments of desperation, so yes, bisexual.

Character Name: Zuri Burns
Age: 20
Gender: Female

Length of Time as an Arma Virumque: 5 years
Branch Served: Eliminator

Appearance: She is of average height with a slender but strong build. She has wildly curly light brown hair and sharp, defined features. Her eyes are dark green and always seem serious and determined. She wears clothing that, while being practical, never draws attention.

Form of Viventibus Telum: Razor sharp netting. This silver netting, expelled and manipulated easily, can be used in many different ways. It can incapacitate enemies, capture them, and kill them depending on the situation.

Personality: She is friendly and polite to her friends and longs to live a normal life, despite the events that are going on around her. However, she can hold her own ground and is tough and resilient as well as very self sufficient. She regrets deeply the fact that, because she has endured Corruption for most of her life, she has never had a chance, and never will have the chance, to experience personal freedom and so dedicates herself completely to the cause and has very high stamina. She sees herself as enlisted for life, as many of her peers die young, thus she savors moments, fully aware that each one could be her last. Though out of combat, she is thoughtful and inclined to study or play chess, on the field she is vicious and destroys with abandon. She is not a leader, but she is very intelligent and a skilled strategist. She is prone to mental exhaustion though, due to the detached mindset she forces herself to adopt in combat.

History: Ever since she was a child, she has had to suppress her emotions in order to deal with reality. She was always smart and possessed a vivid imagination that took her beyond the pain and suffering of those around her. However, nothing could distract her from the her father's Desertion from the Torch Bearers. A head researcher, he was willing to go beyond what was ethically acceptable to the Torch Bearers, and left to pursue private research. He captured shadows and experimented on them, attempting to turn them against each other. When her mother was poisoned, she was exposed to the testing as well, which horrified Zuri and caused her to block out more of her world. It was almost a relief to Zuri when she was recruited at age 16. She showed impressive strength and incredible willingness to destroy as well as an obedient and almost pliable demeanor. However, she cultivates skills in visual art, creating striking images of the war against Corruption that reveals how she truly feels, the only outlet to her feelings she can hope to find.

Up For romance: Yes

Other: Her mental stability is currently being questioned as it has been harder and harder for her to control herself and her weapon. She has experienced moments in which she has separated herself completely from her consciousness and woken up surrounded by destruction she had no memory of creating. She has not killed a fellow team-member yet, but she is being observed closely.

Character Name: Sier
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Length of Time as a Arma Virumque Shadow: 18
Branch Served as in as a Arma Virumque Shadow: General of Squad 3 (Are there even squads?)

Appearance: Sier is stands 6"3 and his stature is more on the thin side of the "lean" spectrum. His skin is tinted a dark gray and his hair is a black that reflects streaks of violent when in the light and falls in loose waves and curls down to his mid-back. His face is sharply cut with hard-angled cheekbones and a narrow chin. His eyes are a really dark blood red and are almond shaped and slanted. Sier's mouth is wide and full of straight, impossibly white teeth.

Sier has a variety of markings all over his body. The ones most visible, on his face, are a line of small X's leading from his left collar bone to under his left eye and continue on through that eye to his hairline, and a row of circles curving with the line of his right eye.

On Sier's chest is a giant black hole that serves as the spawning point for the Phangus.

Shadow ability: Sier can manifest carnivorous bugs called Phagus. The take the form of pure black locusts and swarm that area that Sier specifies. They eat any and everything in sight that is made up of any form of meat, save the Shadows, and will not stop unless by Sier's command - or if he runs out of energy and can no longer control them. When Sier is done using the Phagus, he orders them to self destruct, which causes each individual Phagus to host their own explosion. So, being caught in the middle of a self destruct command could very likely be fatal, depending on the number of surrounding Phagus.

However, using this hurts him physically and mentally. Because the Phagus are basically personalized Shadows, using them invites the Corruption more into Sier's body. So every time he summons them he loses more of himself to the Corruption. Also, it hurts to have the Phagus summoned because they come out of his skin, out of his essence, directly. Sustaining the hoard also drains Sier's energy.

Because of these problems, Sier rarely uses the Phagus and instead fights with an enchanted sword that rots the flesh of whoever it touches and the army of Shadow he commands.

Personality: In one word, apathetic. Not many things arouse his curiosity. Usually he looks bored by all the things happening around him. More likely than not he's wishing to be anywhere else but where he is in the moment. He's prone to playing around with things that should not be played around with, dozing off inappropriately, and hosting gladiator style battles between the Shadows, and prisoners, just to kill a few hour's time.

He thinks way too highly of himself in the sense that he knows that he can't be easily beaten and will flaunt that fact. He thinks just about everyone else beneath him and doesn't waste his time respecting and listening to lowlifes.

On the other hand, when something does catch Sier's eye, he will not stop prodding and picking at it until he's bored of it. In this way, he's a bit clingy and even over affectionate. Being out of his range of sight is far better than being in it. He can be really annoying and suffocating when he finds an interest in you, no matter what that interest be. His attitude does a complete 180.

History: (soon)

Up For Romance: He's a monster... but if you want to give it a shot, don't let me stop you.

Other: The Corruption is taking a bit of a toll on Sier. He is slowly forgetting who he is and where he came from. In one way, this makes him a great General, but the downside is that he now can't remember important facts from his past.

He keeps one Phagus out as a sort of pet. Her name is Ilia.

Spoiler! :
You have D.Gray-man to blame for Sier's powers.

Character Name: Helell Desaint

Age:19

Gender: Male

Length of Time as a Shadow: 3 years, he was once an Arma Virumque, but became infected, so technically he can be a deserter.

Appearance: Helell is a white skinned and tall character who can be described as having androgynous features. The only characteristics that give Helell away as a man are his sharp features and strong jaw line. His mouth is always set in a line of solemnity, and his eyes are wolf-like and a yellowy-gold colour. His black hair forms a dark curtain across half of his face.
He wears archer’s gloves and gothic boots. He often wears a tattered cape over his iron breast plate. He sometimes uses the cape to hide the bottom half of his face when moving outside of corrupted areas at night.
On his wrist he has a hideous scar from the corruption infecting him.

Shadow ability: Since Helell is only a new shadow, and was once a member of Arma Virumque, he still has formidable fighting abilities, but not all the perks of being a shadow yet. He does have the ability however to summon a shadow beast called Fenrir, (due to the ties they have to each other in the past) which is pretty much just a ferocious and giant black wolf with limited healing abilities (dies if you cut out its heart or chop off its head). On the full moon, its abilities are slightly heightened, but it becomes frenzied and difficult to control. Helell cannot summon this beast on nights without a moon, and even on normal nights, he uses Fenrir only as a trump card, as the mental and physical strain it takes to summon and control such a beast is immense, and there is always a 50/50 chance the beast will turn on Helell himself. He still has his Ventibus Telum, although now it is more shadow based. It’s two broad swords which he now keeps in holsters by his thighs. They are shadow based, so they can never be broken, and their essence can be poisonous to none corrupted individuals. He also carries just an ordinary bow that shoots shadow based arrows, which he keeps strapped to his back.

Personality: Helell can be described as independent, perhaps even a lone wolf and always eager to learn. He is very pensive, and spends his time pondering the futility of life in any remote region he can find (whether it is a safe zone or not for a shadow, he cares little), and finds only satisfaction in what carnage he can find/create and in destroying himself, by any means. He is prone to bouts of madness, and is known for the merciless brutality with which he destroys his victims and the maniacal smile and laughter he does it with.
However, although Helell retains monstrous qualities, if one were to observe him deeply, they would see that he is merely a scared and lonely child who lashes out at the hand life has dealt him. Although he can still remember his old life, he hates other shadows, and thus chooses to be alone rather than associate with them (although sometimes it can’t be avoided) as he sees in them what he hates in himself and what he is destined to become; a monster that enjoys being a monster. He still can somewhat feel sorry for their lack of humanity however. He has little hope that a cure for the corruption will ever be found, and waits for the day he is finally killed or rendered senseless; either by the scar on his hand, containing the slow spreading poison of the corruption, or for when an Arma Virumque capable of killing him comes along.

History: Helell spent the years of his life before he was poisoned
on a small farm surrounded by a primeval wood. As a child, his intelligence aroused a curiosity regarding the world around him, which of course included the corruption. His curiosity for things of darkness caused him to develop an uncanny connection to it. He made an effort to understand the things that others condemn. He would spend his time in the wood, watching shadows, especially Fenrir. He saw a certain sadness in the creature, he believed it longed for a life it could no longer remember. He started to believe that there was a grey between the black and white. His parents, worried for the future of their child who sympathised with creatures of the corruption, sent him away to become an Arma Virumque when he was 14 to see firsthand what the corruption really was. He saw this as an opportunity to learn, given his natural curiosity, and trained vigorously and became a formidable warrior by the age of 16. Although his views still remained somewhat intact, he destroyed many shadow beasts which he saw as a mercy; many of these beasts were completely consumed by the corruption, and were left as nothing more than feral beasts, capable of only destruction. This was when him and a few other Arma Virumque were given orders to destroy a certain shadow beast called Fenrir. Feeling morally outraged, he saved the beast just before one of his team mates struck a fatal blow; taking the blow on himself instead. Mortally wounded, Fenrir quickly dragged him away and saved his life by biting the palm of his hand, and thus infecting him with the corruption. This bound the two together via essence and is the reason Helell can summon him.
After he was fully healed, Helell began wondering the land aimlessly, and without purpose, driven only by the corruption that now courses through his veins.

Up For romance: Well….Alright then.

Other: As time goes by, Helell loses more and more of his humanity and who he used to be.
Blow your mind -- smoke gunpowder.

Some, but not all

Character Name:

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Length of Time as an Arma Virumque: 10 yrs

Branch Served as in as an Arma Virumque: Eliminator

Appearance:

Form of Viventibus Telum:

Personality:She's very quiet and calm. She never speaks much, but when she does, people listen. She's an amazing strategist and highly intelligent. Most people leave her alone because she scares them, and that's just fine with her. She's always aware of her surroundings and very sharp. She comes off as cold hearted and unfeeling, which is another reason why they don't mess with her, but they also know she would have their backs at any moment and trust her.

History:

Up For romance: Sure, if there was a guy who had the courage. She also actually very shy when it comes to guys.

Character Name: Zael Ashthar
Age:23
Gender:Male
Length of Time as an Arma Virumque:7
Branch Served as in as an Arma Virumque: Eliminator

Appearance: Roughly 6' 3" in height with a rather thin build. Zael is a pale lad with dark hair, his nose is prominent and his chin sharp. He wears the dark clothing traditional of the scouts and his armor is rather thin to boot. When not in armor he tends to stay well dressed in button ups and slacks. He wears black framed glasses but when on the battle field his armor provides him with goggles.

Form of Viventibus Telum: In one hand he uses a gun and in the other a chain with a pointed end that changes to his need whether it be grabbing a shadow beast trying to make it's escape or helping him reach the higher ground in a fight. The gun is known by fellow elimninators, and is rumored to be called by the shadows, The Executioner. A work of a truly creative mind it's said the gun could wipe out a wave of shadows when charged and a single bullet takes out some of the largest.

Personality: Zael may appear the scholarly type but is known by his fellow Eliminators as the scourge of the shadows. When of the battlefield Zael is quite the scholar studying the history of humanity before the attack of the first shadows and the corruption. He wishes to preserve humanity and even loathes killing the shadows that still seem human. But, he follows his fathers mantra 'all that are corrupted must be eliminated.' Zael is often viewed, he would say incorrectly, as an uptight guy follow orders to the t and constantly training and studying. But, in truth he'd rather be asleep in the HQ garden in his hammock rather than any of it but, he believes in being prepared.

History: Zael's father was one of the first Arma Virumque and rumored to be one of the best Eliminators their ever was. As soon as Zael turned 16 he was tested with the Viventibus Telum and his father made sure he was an Eliminator. His father was a squad captain in the Eliminators and inevitably Zael was on his father's squad. His father's tactics were swift and to the point: Attack the area without mercy and eliminate everything they could, seldom did a scout miss a survivor. Zael learned much under his father's tutelage after a time he became a squad captain as well. His father now works a desk job and often gives his son the hardest assignments, because of his faith in him.
