In Oculis Draconis -- In the Eye of the Dragon.

Plot: Lyansa is a beautiful country full of enchanted forests and rivers, far-stretching fields and towering mountains. Recently, it was at war with Melnar but now, it's recovering. Slowly, people have rebuilt their homes, and their lives...and moved on with things. Lyall has burried it's Empress and welcome new citizens to its walls. And it has seen old ones...disappear. Jarelle, the God of Healing no longer walks the streets of Lyall or the halls of the palace, and no one knows where he has gone. Perhaps home, to Asyra--the realm of the gods--or perhaps gods can die afterall.

Lyalls seems to be at peace, with Princess Isolde with Prince Ravel, who is now the Melnarian Emperor, and Shawnee happily with Seghed. Everything seems to be peaceful in Lyall. Everyone appears to be happy. But there are tales coming in from all corner of Lyansa--tales of great winged beasts attacking villages and towns, and burnnig them to the ground. It seems Niran, and all those inside Lyall's walls, have another problem.

Dragons.

You are a citizen of Lyall, either commoner, soldier, guard, royalty, a Healer or the enemy Perhaps even a dragon. You are either outside Lyall or inside the city. Whose side are you on? Whose secrets will be revealed? Love, life, secrets and betrayal. What has become of the once mighty city of Lyall, known as the Emperor's City? What brings disaster to it's gates? And why are the mysterious healers so important? But more importantly--what has brought dragons to Lyall's walls?

Important Information:
Spoiler! :
Healers: Healers are humans with a God parent (usually the god Jarelle). They are born with hair the same colour and eyes the same colour as their God parent, no matter how strange it is. A healer can heal others, regardless of race, of almost any injury but they themselves take on the pain, and sometimes the injury--as long as said injury won't do them lasting or irrepairable damage.

Trackers: Trackers are, more often than not, Elves or a human with Elven blood. They are exceptionally skilled at tracking, hunting and archery. Emperor Zarin hires these men and women for their talents; they do not have any alligence to the Emperor, his country or his cause.

Soldiers & Royal Guards: Soldiers and Royal Guards are humans and/or elves who have signed themselves into the Emperor's keeping. They are either a Soldier (of any rank) or a Royal Guard and are expert fighters, tending to be older (especially if a General or high-ranking Guard) and loyal to Lyansa and it's Emperor.

Gods/Goddesses: Gods & Goddesses are beings of immense power, pretty much immortal and ageless-it's impossible to tell exactly how old they are. They are bound by unnatural laws to do nothing more than watch and record as their creations destroy each other. No one knows what the look like as they always appear cloaked in whatever colour represents them; Jarelle's colour being blue, in any shade. There is only one god in Lyansa that is known to wander amongst humans and that is Jarelle, god of Healing.

Elves: Elves are creatures of nature and can live for hundreds, even thousands, of years. Their powers relate to nature and the elements They highly dislike anything too advanced and tend to avoid cities, except for the few who live in Lyall and similar cities. Elves are rarely seen away from the forests.

Humans: Humans can be found throught Lyansa and the surrounding kingdoms and have little to no magic. Any magic they do have is limited and uncontrolled. Humans make wonderful soldiers, though.

Dragons: Dragons are giant winged creatures with tough scales covering their hides. They can breathe fire, water, lightning, or any one of the other elements, including spirit. Dragons are dangerous creatures. They thrive on death and destruction, and on chaos--but only when enraged. A calm dragon is wild and dangerous, yet kind, thriving on peace and life, and on order. It's rare for one to be tamed, and even rarer for someone from any race to form a bond with one and ride it, though it has happened before. Once or twice.

Dragons are purely wild spirits, almost untamable, but they do possess great Wisdom and Intelligence. As an ally, they are a formidable force.

Name: Isolde Lysanae

Age: 19.

Gender: Female.

Race: Half-elf.

Rank: Princess of Lysana

Alligence: Lysana

Appearance: She is known for her beauty, and has straight brown hair that ends in thick, whimsical waves that give her a half-ladylike, half-childish look, and gray-blue eyes that are both innocent-seeming and mature at the same time. She is of average height, and has a deceptively delicate build that hides her years of training in combat with short blades.

Spoiler! :
Isolde.jpg
Isolde.jpg (223.21 KiB) Viewed 958 times

Personality: As the princess of Lysana, Isolde does particularly well in her image. While she never gets angry very easily, she has a sort of quiet intensity about her that creates a sort of respect and fear in the people that come across her, and her beauty only heightens this impression more. Despite appearances, however, she is very passionate about what she believes in, and she is usually a very kind person. However, Isolde often works from the background to manipulate things to suit her own opinions, and often goes off to do things by herself without telling her father or her brother. Her one main flaw is that she has steeped herself in so much manipulation and is trying so hard to be her mother, that is has lost sight of what matters, and has also become a more colder, vicious version of her mother. However, since she got together with Ravel, she seems to have mellowed out...a bit.

History: Ever since she could remember, Isolde has been the princess of Lysana. A kind and beautiful child, she grew up to become an adored and somewhat quiet young woman, respected by the entire kingdom for her soundness and quietness. However, Isolde has trained with short blades and bows from an early age, encouraged by her mother. After the Empress died, however, Isolde was the one who took it the hardest, and changed from an amiable young woman to a self-dependent, almost cold one. Around a year back, there had been a huge commotion in Lysana and war between it and Melnar. Isolde was one of those involved in the very thick of it. She helped a fugitive Ravel and his friends Shawnee and Seghed after realizing that they (well, Ravel, especially) were being hunted down by Niran. It led into more for both Isolde and Ravel, of course.

Up for love: Ehhhh. Depends. She is with Ravel of course. But uhhh. She might be a tad fickle. Might be. Just saying.

Other: Isolde is naturally talented at tracking people, and often uses this to good measure.

-----------------------

Name: Christan Callas

Age: 41

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Rank: General

Allegiance: Lyansa

Appearance:

Spoiler! :

HOT-edward-norton-1728993-268-400.jpg (49.61 KiB) Viewed 950 times

Personality: Christan is usually very quiet, calm and mature, but he can often be uncaring and cold towards others almost to the point of sadism. He is also a bumbling fool at times and can get extremely jealous, especially of Altair, who he sees as his rival. (Or some such thing.) However, he loves his family very much, even though he also controls them a lot.

History: Christan doesn't remember much of his real parents. Brought up as a war orphan in a family that treated him more like a guest than a real member, Christan learned early on to not care about others but only himself. He drafted himself into the Guards at sixteen - became a captain at twenty-one. During this time, he met Liese Rhennon and fell in love with her, much to his own surprise. He had two children with her, 16-year-old Lilac and 10-year-old Simon. Last year, during the Melnarian-Lyansan war, he played an important part and got promoted to General for it.

Up for love: He has a wife.

Other: He has two children; Lilac is a teenage girl who's obsessed with the castle and knows a lot about it, and Simon is his younger son who likes vegetables a little too much.

--------------------------------

Name: Lilac Callas

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Rank: Commoner

Allegiance: Lyansa

Appearance: Lilac is a pretty girl by most standards, with rosey cheeks, platinum-blonde hair like her mother's and grey-blue eyes that many have remarked as similar to the princess Isolde's; the same intellect, although Lilac is much less sharper in temper, as dictated by her appearance. She prefers dark colors, like violet and black, and will often be seen wearing them.

medieval_narcissim_5_by_l_olenska-d3b5bnc.jpg (168.07 KiB) Viewed 950 times

Personality: While she may seem innocent and obedient on the outside, Lilac can get up to a lot of mischief; especially considering she knows the entire layout of the castle without batting an eyelash. She has sneaked around a lot of times and even though her parents have warned her many times not to, she still would keep doing it until they had no choice but to let her do what she wants. She is quite good with drawing things; it is her talent, but what she really wants to do is be a soldier, but her father won't allow it.

Flaws: Lilac has no battle skills, of course; and she can be very stubborn and opinionated. She also looks to other people to get her out of trouble and would rather sit in a cell and whine rather than try to get out herself.

History: Lilac was born to Christan and Liese Callas, their older child and only daughter. From a young age she showed a tendency for drawing; both parents thought something good would come out of it all - but for some reason she changed her interest from pure art towards the castle when she grew up; having been raised in a distant corner of it, she wondered what people who were really inside it lived like.

And then one day she wandered into the barracks looking for her father; and saw all the soldiers training. This sparked a rebellious idea within her; what if, instead of growing up to be a young lady, she grew up to be a soldier instead? This idea she pitched to her parents, but none of them liked it. Her mother was worried she'd die in a war. And Christan was adamant that the place for a young girl was growing up to be a proper lady, not a soldier. Pouting, she took to sneaking around the castle, her own form of rebellion against her parents and started making a map of the whole place, so one day it might be useful.

Up for love: Yes, straight.

Other: Not much. xD Oh yeah. She's of the courting age now so feel free to come and bother her. (If you want to.) She'll most likely be sneaking around the castle when you arrive, though. Oh, and she has a younger vegetables-obsessed brother. Take a carrot or two to them when you visit. He'll love you for it. :D

Dragon:

Name: Celosia.

Age: 387 approx. She sort of lost count.

Gender: Female.

Race: Dragon.

Alligence: Herself and the person she eventually bonds with.

Appearance: Celosia is a large dragon, about 500 feet long (150 meters, approx.) head to tail, with a wing span of about 330 feet (100 meters, approx.). Her scales are a sort of pale silver with blue-white highlights and ice blue eyes. Her scales interlock and she has a series of spines down her back along with a beautiful collection of horns adorning her head.
Spoiler! :
Image

Personality: Celosia is a bold and kind yet wild and dangerous. She's fiercely loyal and fierce in battle, and doesn't lack the skills to really prove a danger. She's smart and loves to sneak around, which makes her deadly in closed in surroundings (such as forests). She hates to see anyone she likes hurt and has a horrid temper. She's also impatient, always in motion and loves to cause trouble and teasing other dragons. If Celosia is quiet and thoughtful, you just know she's plotting something or up to no good. Especially if she's looking at you with a glint in her eyes.

Celosia likes flying, swimming, breathing fire, heights, mountains, forests and fish. She's fast (both in the air, on land and in the water), agile, very smart and very loyal to those she likes. Water is her element, forests are her domain. Celosia highly dislikes the enemy, fighting and war but she won't hesitate to do whatever she has to do to get something done--like protecting someone she likes and cares for. Though she's a fast when flying and really smart, she lacks the ability to both fly and fight at the same time; she spends more time running away, than engaging in aerial combat. She also tends to rush into things.

Flaws: Celosia is quick to rush into things, and sometimes not so quick at rushing out. And she gets into way too much mischief; she was always in trouble with her mother, but it's been a while since she was a hatchling.

Power/s: Celosia breathes fire and ice, though she tends to shy away from breathing fire (most dragons can breathe fire). She's in her element when she's in or near water.

History: Celosia was born in a land far beyond Lyansa, Melnar or even Ronas and far beyond Curuwen and Losthurin, in a land made of pure magic--dragon magic. Oh, the ground was earth and dirt enough, but there was magic in every grain of sand, in every leaf on every tree, in every drop of water and in every creature that walked the realm. Celosia was born in the Ice Caves in the north of this land, where many a dragon gift in the element of water was hatched. Back then, the land was beautiful, from the silver in the ice, to the gold and rose of the rising sun. Her life was wonderful, learning and playing. Toying with others, and enjoying the flights over the sweeping plains and towering mountains.

And life was such for almost three centuries. But over the last few years, the land has slowly been dying. The colour and beauty fading, the life in everything slowly draining away. And no one knew why.

The land began to grow dark, silver turned to dark grey, gold to dark bronze. A shadow was cast over this magical realm where dragons were born, and everything suffered. Other dragons, driven mad with grief and loss, turned to killing their own. They ripped up whole forests, crushed the cliffs into the sea and let the caves collapse in on themselves. The land was in chaos, and none knew what was happening.

Celosia, saddened by the sight, fled from her homeland and went east, away from the growing darkness of the land. Away from the...evil brewing beneath the surface of the earth.

But wherever she went, she saw signs of that dark influence. Men turning on men, elves on elves, forests and plains and crops burnt, trees dying. Until eventually, she reached Lyansa, where the influence seemed weak. She lingered in the trees and mountains north of the wall-city, waiting and watching. When the dark influence seemed to grow there, she decided she needed to speak to whoever was inside Lyall, a presence she had not felt for nearly three-hundred years, only to realized that that presence had been slowly fading. Jarelle was no longer in Lyall.

Up for love: Yes and No. She has a mate and she's laid a few eggs, but that was a few centuries ago. (In others words, ask me about it.)

Other: Celosia has a scar down the side of her mouth and winding under her jaw. She has no memory of how she got it.

---------------------------------

Healer:

Name: Sanura Aiyanna.

Age: 19.

Gender: Female.

Race: Healer.

Rank: Healer.

Alligence: Ronas.

Appearance: Sanura is about 5'9 ft tall with dark blue hair, pale blue eyes and pale skin. She's slim yet athletic and has a much stronger will than anyone would expect. She is often seen wearing blue clothing of varying shades--blue being the colour most healers wear. Never seen without the silver necklace around her neck.
Spoiler! :
Image

Personality: For a healer, Sanura isn't all that peaceful, nor is she shy. She's actually rather bold and truthful, almost to the point of it being a major fault in her. But it's sometimes better to go through with something and then ask for forgiveness before asking permission anyway. She usually avoids conflict, preferring to talk, rather than clash swords. She has the best and the worst qualities in here; the patience of her father, yet the temper of her mother and the determination of any human. It makes her unique in a completely new way. Sanura can be friendly on occasion, and has a great love of life, like most healers. She will only kill when she has no other choice or harming another might not help the situation; she also really hates to do so, though sometimes it's more of a mercy thing than a willingness to kill. Although, he has no illusions about killing people if she has to, yet she just prefers not to. She is extremely loyal once someone has gained her trust and will defend them no matter what. Sanura often seems a little harsh and distant, but don't be fooled, she has rather loving side underneath it all. As a healer, Sanura also has this nasty little side-effect because pf her abilities--when she heals someone, she takes on the pain and sometiems the wound. It's not uncommon among healer for this to happen and for Sanura, she rarely heals people because of this. When she does, it's a true gift, even if it's painful for her.

Flaws: Sometimes seen as too bold, too truthful and often acts before seeknig permission. Also has a nasty temper when she loses it (though it's rare for her to lose her temper). Can sometimes seem a little harsh and distant. A lto of times, Sanura has taken on way too much healing than she can handle and has had to have other healers take over for her and has had to be healed herself because of that. Sometimes doesn't know when enough is enough when it comes to healing others.

Power/s: Healing abilities.

History: Not much is actually known of Sanura's past, except for the fact that she woke up alone and injured in the city's prision. She had no idea where she was or how she got there. The only clue was the memory she had of a raid and of helping so many people, of trying to heal them. She knows who she is, where she came from and her childhood. But remembers nothing of her time between going to live in the royal palace of Ronas and between the attack on her company of something like 30 or more men. It's a bit of a mystery, for everyone...

Over the last year, Sanura has started to remember more of her past. She has become a little attached to Bristan and become...sort of friends with Isolde and Shawnee, though it's mostly strained. She tends to stick to herself or chat with Niton, the royal healer.

Up for love: Sure.

Other: Sanura always wears a silver necklace; the necklace being this:
Spoiler! :

--------------------------------------------------------

General:

Name: Altair Jinan / General Jinan / Altair.

Age: 39.

Gender: Male.

Race: Human.

Rank: General.

Alligence: Lyansa.

Appearance: Altair is tall, dark and handsome--that's often the way women describe him. As a soldier, and even more importantly, a General, Altair is strong and capable. He stands at a little over 6 ft tall, with dark blonde hair that's going grey, dark brown eyes and heavily tanned skin due to all the time he's spent outside training. He's slim and athletic, and mush stronger than he looks. He has muscle, but only if you look closely--not that you'll see it under all that clothing. He is most likely to be seen in the red, black and blue uniform of a soldier of Lyansa--The red being a hooded cloak, the black being pants and the blue being a tunic. Altair has many scars, the most noticible being the once snaking down the lefthand side of his face; the result of a fight with the enemy in an ages past war. In fact, it was one of the first wounds inflicted upon him during his years as a soldier.
Spoiler! :
Image

Personality: Despite his somewhat cold impression, Altair is actually kind, loving, caring, and smart, determined and sometimes easily distracted. He hates to see those she cares about hurt and often gets really defensive if someone he likes is harmed, but be wanred--if you start asking questions about his past, he’ll snap at you and try to drive you off. He gets mad—really mad. And a mad Altair, who has a few interesting talents, is not a good thing. And although he’s talented, his downfalls are his somewhat short temper and the grudge he holds against men who harm women. He’s quiet more often than not and thinks a lot before speaking or doing something. He likes to plan things out, if he can. Especially battles and the like. And highly dislikes when his plans are thoroughly screwed up by stupid mistakes. And he has made a lot of mistakes in the past, and dislikes when this is pointed out. It's not his fault--he was 'just following orders'. After all, he can't argue with orders...even if he wants to. He also hates being called a coward—it’s another downfall of his. Altair often has a blank, cold and uncaring edge to his expression, like he’s lost all emotion or just doesn’t give a damn about the rest of the world. This is his mask, to hide the pain he goes through. Not that he'd ever tell you what, exactly, that pain is.

Flaws: Hates being called a coward. Sometimes finds it hard to think outside the box, especially when it comes to orders (he's screwed up in the past while following orders--it got a few women and children killed...) and often refuses to let people in. He's lost several possible wives because of this.

Power/s: None.

History: When Altair was a child, he witnessed a horrible crime...but since he was only a child and a commoner at the time, he could do nothing about it. This crime was the death of his mother (his father having left long before he could remember him) and the maiming of his younger sisters. Ever since he could remember, Altair wanted to protect those who couldn't protect themselves. So, when he was still young, barely out of childhood, he asked the local blacksmith to make him a sword with the metal he had found while playing down near the river. The blacksmith agreed and several days later, Altair had his first sword.

Skip forwards about ten years, and young Altair, who was now offically a man, joined the army, swifting rising throguh the ranks. Several wars, skirmishes and other nasty soldier-like duties later and another ten years or so, and Altair Jinan was now General Altair Jinan. Finally, he could do something about the cruelty he had seen all those years ago. He assigned one of his trusted soldiers to watch the men who had attacked and killed his mother and maimed his younger sisters. And he found that they were still practicing their wicked ways, even as old men. He decided to have them punished--a public whipping was in order. Three men were involved, two men died. It was only one of his many mistakes.

Nowadays, Altair watches over the Emperor as his left hand. He is always there, always watching--or one of his inner circle is. Be warned, Altair has trust issues and problems with abusive people, be it man or woman (though he tends to be more lenient towards women). You can most likely see him standing to the Emperor's left or wandering the city or palace. He's never alone, even if he looks like he is.

Up for love: Sure, if you can crack that emotionless mask of his.

Other: Every General, upon rising to the rank of General, recieves a sword much like this;
Spoiler! :
Image
Altair's sword has a white handle with silver detail. He also has a matching dagger. He wears these attached to a belt around his waist at all times.

Name: (First AND Last, and Nicknames if have any) Arwen Lysa

Age: (18 or older please) 20

Gender: (Male or Female) Female

Race: (Human/Elf/God etc) Elf

Rank: (Healer, Soldier, Royal Guard, God, etc) Wanderer

Alligence: (None, Lyansa, Melnar) Neutral at the moment

Appearance: (description and picture) Short brown hair- pretty with light blue eyes flecked with lilac. She is tall and graceful. She has pointed ears and tribal tatoos on her back of dragons, swords, vines. Usually wear a bodice made from brown leaves with leather straps that form an X across her chest, which hold her daggers, arrows and weapons. She has a green pattern of leaves surrounding her eye.

Spoiler! :
ImageExcept the hair is more shoulder length.Image

Personality: (Include likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses) Brave and determined. She is used to the solitude, but desires a mate. She loves the forest, but doesn't like the sea. She can be competative and bossy. She has a bit of a temper, and can be sarcastic and nasty to people who have a strong personality like her.

Flaws: (If you have one/any) ^^^ And she is weaker at night, but Clover dulls her powers and senses.

Power/s: (Only if a Healer, God or Elf) Elves are naturally more physically and mentaly stronger than humans, and live longer, but Arwen possess certain magical abilities. She can levitate herself and other objects, and influence emotions, and also feel them.

History: (Try for at least two long (like, 6 or more lines) paragprahs please) Arwen left the Elven City with her friend, who was killed by a dragon. She doesn't hate, or fear the dragons, but respects them. She has journeyed across the land, not really wanting to go back to the city and tell them of her friends death. She mainly travels alone, seeking out other elves to test her skills against and maybe even, to find a mate. Her Mother and Father both died when she was very young- they were killed by an assassin. She managed to escape alive, and has lived with her Uncle ever since, that is, until she went off on her own. Her Uncle owned an Elven Farm, which grew magical herbs and spices, so she has a good knowledge of poultices, even though some give her rashes.

Up for love: (Yes, no and preference, if any) Yes, deffinately, she is straight, and looking for a luckly Elven guy ;)

Other: (Anything we missed?) Nah.

Jok, sure you can. And Princess, good profile. IF you're not sure about Rank, leave it blank or put 'wanderer'.

Name: Orelia Stoneclaw (can be called 'Lia' for short)

Age: 25

Gender: Female

Race: Half-human, half-elf.

Rank:Tracker

Alligence: to the highest bidder.

Appearance: Her features mark her out immediately as a half-elf. Small, lean, with pointed ears, Orelia keeps her black hair short. Almond-shaped brown eyes, a round nose and a tiny mouth make her pretty to some, childish to others. Orelia is rarely found out of her tracker gear- trousers, tunice, leather jerkin, thick boots and a weapons belt- unless she's asked to spy in court, in which case she demands the outfits come with the job.

Spoiler! :
Image

Personality: It isn't that Orelia is cruel that she sells her loyalties, only that she has little interest in who's ruling the country or who they're fighting. As long as there's bread on the table and a roof over her head, she's perfectly content. Though she has a reputation for being a mercenary, Orelia in person is warm and friendly, and most people have to second-guess themselves about her. This too, she uses to her advantage, she retains all information she finds out about everyone. Curiosity killed a cat, but it never killed a tracker. Orelia can't help wanting to know what's going on, and if someone asks her to track something, though she'll never ask directly, she'll try her outmost to find out why. While she doesn't mind getting a little help, in essence, Orelia prefers working alone. She's a perfectionist, and there's less chance of messing up that way. Emotionally, she can be quite guarded, she's aware of just how much she gets out of other people- and just how dangerous her job can sometimes be. She doesn't want to get too attached to anything- especially since she might have to shift loyalties at any minute.

Flaws: mostly already mentioned. Curious to the point of being just plain nosy, doesn't get too close to anybody

Power/s: just usual tracking stuff.

History:Orelia's mother was a forest elf who fell in love with a mortal man- briefly. When she discovered, after the affair had ended, that she was pregnant, she felt she had no choice but to leave it on his doorstep. Little did she know that within nine months, Byron Stoneclaw was married to someone else. Elsa Stoneclaw, however, was far from a typical stepmother, she took Orelia in her stride and raised her as her own. Orelia, however, did not receive any education about the elves or the blood she had running through her veins, until she was fourteen and, on her last day at the city school, was informed by Valery, an old, weather-beaten tracker.

After a tear-filled farewell to her family and younger half-siblings, Orelia went with Valery to learn her trade. It's doubtless that Orelia was born for tracking, she's fantastic with a bow and can match any prints- animal or man-made- to their maker. However, just as her training was ending, Valery was killed in action by a rival tracker working for a different employer. Since then, Orelia's been wary of working for bounty-hunters. But in the end, Lyall's a tough city to live in and she'll take whatever chances she can get.

Up for love: sure!

Other: Orelia carries two short knives on her belt, a dagger in her right boot, a sword, bow and quiver usually. She likes to be prepared for all eventualities.

*The last one was really enjoyable. I'm totally in for a sequal using my old characters. I have tweaked there profiles a little and added some information for the time gap between SB's*

Name: Ravel Melnared (Rav for short)

Age: 19, at the time of the previous SB.

Gender: male

Race: elf

Rank: Emperor Pro Tem of Melnar. It means he's the acting emperor until the humans can find someone else. This arrangement is to avoid a civil war.

Alligence: Melnar

Appearance: Tall, pale, and slender, with long unruly black hair and orange eyes. Usually seen with a scowl on his face. Wears black all the time.

http://media.photobucket.com/image/elf% ... r.jpg?o=74

Personality: Smart, cunning, a brilliant tactitian. He thinks with his head not his heart. Daring, reckless and incredibly independent. Rav will not tolerate being bound by anything or anyone. He was almost blindly loyal to Emperor Niran and is still hurt from his adoptive father's betrayal. Although he hides it well.

Despite his intense loyalty he has a conscience and would often mitigate the damage caused by his adopted father. Such as allowing enemy fighters to take their dead and wounded from the battlefield. The Emperor was aware of and allowed these insubordinations because he knows Rav would never betray him outright.

While he has a hot temper he keeps it under tight wraps. Due to his history he hates other elves, and other elves hate him. A fierce and proud fighter, Rav is the War God's chosen through and through.

Flaws: Prone to almost berserk rages, when he was a child they happened much more frequently. Now he only ever lets that side of him out on the battlefield. He is also claustrophobic, and hate being bound or boxed in by anything or anyone.

Power/s: Like all elves his powers are elemental in nature, and in Rav's case highly destructive. Rav has command of the elements of Wind, Lightning, and Fire. An explosive combination if there ever was one.

History: Ravel is an Asraad, a rare type of pureblood elf denoted by there flame colored eyes. An Asraad is also known as a Child of Battle, and so they are favored by the God of War. In ancient times the Asraadi were both revered and feared. They were the greatest warriors of the elven nation with incredible strength, speed, and reflexes. They mastered weapons easily and had highly destructive magic. They were the protectors of their race. But some went insane and had to be put down, before they were taken out they massacred hundreds.

Since those dark days any elven child born with orange eyes has been killed. It should have been the same with Rav, but as luck would have it, Niran was riding by that day and stopped his birth family from killing him. He took the newborn elf with him and raised him as his own.

He was raised like any prince, despite the fact he would never inherit anything, and went into the army at fourteen. Since then he went from conflict to conflict. Other elves have repeatedly tried to kill him over the years but Rav defends himself fiercely. Despite this he too see himself as a monster, and fears losing himself like the Asraadi of the past. Rav obeyed his father absolutely and traveled with him and the invading army to the gates of Lyall.

Rav knew full well that the only reason Niran saved him was because he wanted to raise the Ultimate Weapon, one that would never betray him. He didn't care. As he once said. "I owe him my life, I owe him more than it." At least, until Niran betrayed him and tried to have him killed.

In retaliation Rav allied with country of Lyansa and helped them destroy his father and adoptive brother. Meanwhile a rebellion that had been brewing for years in Melnar erupted into open war they siezed the throne and gave it to Rav. At least until a suitable ruler comes along. Humans are not supposed to be ruled by the long-lived after all.

As the dragons wreak havoc across the land Rav feels his own rage and power stirring. As if something within him is resonating with the dragons. Like the winged lizards Asraadi are closer to the primordial magic of the world. Whatever is causing the dragons strange behavior is beginning to affect Rav as well. And he fears it.

At the same time he is probably about as close in nature as a two-legger can come to a dragon. So Rav understands them, at least a little.

Up for love: Yes, Rav is with the Princess Isolde. Although they make a prickly pair.

Other: Most elves attack him almost on sight. The ones in Melnar and Lyall tolerate him, but also avoid him like the plague. Elphame the Lyansan tracker is/was his older sister, although he was unaware of this fact. Beliveing for most of his life that his entire birth family was dead.

-----------------------------------

Name: Seghed Tarulia

Age: 21, at the time of previous SB

Gender: male

Race: human

Rank: Soldier, specifically Melnaran Royal Guard/ Former Lyansan Spy

Alligence: His 'official' loyalty is to Melnar, but he was really a spy for Lyansa during the war. In truth Seghed's true loyalty lies only with the people that matter to him.

Appearance: Chin length reddish-brown hair and bright green eyes. Pale skin with three claw like scars on his left cheek. Slightly below average height, and very skinny. Often wears a hat or bandana.

http://media.photobucket.com/image/red% ... i.jpg?o=41

Personality: Seghed is the type that lives every moment like it's his last. He drinks and gambles, and flirted with anything in skirts. I guess you could say he was something of a rake, until he met the lovely young healer Shawnee and fell head over heels. Seghed is gregarious and care free, and he's probably the only person living that can really draw a smile out of Rav aside from Isolde. Despite his intense hatred for Emperor Niran he's best friends with Rav and doesn't want to betray him. Something that put a serious cramp in his spying during the war.

Though he's often laughing and carefree outside of a fight. He's dead serious once the blood starts to fly. Seghed has a wicked sense of humor and he can be vindictive when someone incurs his wrath. An optimist compared to his best friend's more cynical outlook.

Flaws: He has a tendency to make enemies with his devil may care attitude. (Eg: Flirting with other men's wives) Ironically he also has a fear of bugs, especially spiders. Seghed knows that his friendship with Rav will likely get him killed one day but he doesn't care.

Power/s: N/A

History: A native of Melnar, his family was minor nobility that lived near the ocean. When Seghed was ten it was discovered that the family was plotting with rebels against the crown. The entire family man, woman, and child was executed. Except for Seghed.

For some reason the Imperial Prince took a liking to the older boy and the Emperor chose to humor his adopted son, allowing the boy to live. At first Seghed resented and hated the elvin prince. Thinking him spoiled and naive, until one day when another elf snuck into the palace and tried to kill Rav. The two boys fought him off together and Rav later admitted that Niran had probably known about the assassin and allowed him to sneak past the guards.

Rav's matter of fact acceptance of this betrayal sealed the boys friendship. And the two went into the military together. At the same time it was the impetus that pushed Seghed to begin spying on the Emperor, sending any and allusefull information to Lyansa. The only thing he ever held back on was information that could effect or pertain to Rav. As a result, while people outside Melnar were aware the Emperor adopted an elf as his son, few outside the Empire knew Rav's face.
During the war Seghed snuck into the palace to report to Lyansa's emperor. When he and Rav were both betrayed by Niran the best friends formed an alliance with Lyansa. They used flawless teamwork in their own efforts to help end the war.

Up for love: Yes, Seghed was a total player until he fell for Shawnee. He is very protective of his new girlfriend. Though a little confused about what exactly she sees in him.

Other: Nothing much, except aside from typical battle expertise he's skilled in reconaissance and sneaking. He'd have to be, or he would have been executed years ago. He often backs up Rav and pulls him out of trouble when the young Asraadi runs into problems with his abilities.

Name: Chusi (Has been called Chewy/Chew-chew by a few)

Age: 1 years. (Yes, she's a hatchling)

Gender: Female

Race: Dragon

Alligence: None as of yet.

Appearance: Little Chusi always seems much more serious than she feels. Her expressions never mirror her emotions- whether she's downright depressed or upright joyful, her facial features have the same unimpressed demeanor to them. Her scales are a dark purple, and though you'd never tell, she's very proud of them. Her belly and the inside of her wings are a bright pink, hard to miss and definitely flaunted.
She's still small, around the size of a cat, and likes to curl up into tight places and sleep there.
Spoiler! :
Image

Personality: Chusi surprises most. Despite a constantly cynical expression, she is extremely high-strung and typically very happy, if not a bit lonely at times. She adores being the center if attention, and because she doesn't get to be in it much, takes advantage of when she is or can be. This causes her to be very attention-seeking, and ver, very easily jealous. She iften finds that getting into trouble gains her attention, and even if it's not positive. Chusi is constantly playing tricks, being noisy and getting into things that she shouldn't be getting into. She is most certainly a handful, cut if somebody has the time to care for and love her as much as she needs, she us a very, bery loyal companion.

However, earning her trust can, on occasion, difficult. Chusi is strong on first impressions, and is usually very quick to judge- on the little things. A man with a scar and a cold expression is automatically registered as cruel and untrustworthy, for example, whereas a dragon with wise eyes is possibly trustworthy. If you so much as snap at her for being a brat before she gets to know you, mostest how kind you had been to her before, that trust is instantly lost.

Chusi is also the owner of a wicked temper and a headade for holding grudges and seeking revenge. If anybody's done something to male her angry, they should expect a fierce response or a nasty trick, often both. On the other hand, if she does like somebody, she will crave their company and need thei praise and attention. She definitely has a sweet side, and if one was to get on her good side, they would find a young dragon filled with curiosity to the overflowing. She loves to explore, though she's wary of her curious side around strangers and prying eyes.

Flaws: Her trust issues, her tendency to judge quickly, hold grudges and seek revenge and her temper problems all seem to get her into bucket-loads of trouble. She also doesn't assume that there are stronger people/dragons/beings of any kind out there, and she doesn't hesitate to take on anybody who provokes her. She's also a bit on the vain side, and it's definitely noticeable, as she gets very haughty at times. The way she seeks attention is definitely not a good one, but she's never been taught (gently) how to get attention in any other way. She is a very insecure dragon, and she's extremely lonely. It's just hard to get along with her more often than not.

Power/s: Like all Sarlan dragons (what's left of them, anyways), Chusi is a spirit dragon. Of course, this is something that she hasn't quite figured out yet.

History: Chusi was born alone in a land to the south- the not-so-grand kingdom of Sarla. Currently, all that's left of the place is ruined cities, dead forests and a still very large population of opressed people. This is all thanks to enemy kingdom, Kiralin- they wanted the land and the people due to prophecies that claimed the kingdom held a powerful magic within the earth. All Chusi can remember of her homeland is hatching in one of the aforementioned dead forests, nearer to a virtually untouched village. Though unaffected by raids and war, the people there were diseased, starving, and she watched many a human fall dead.

One particular person, a young Kiralinite tracker to be exact, found her sneaking around the edge of the forest one day. He was scouting, looking for untouched villiages such as that one to raid and slaughter. The fact that he had found a dragon was far more interesting, for dragons were supposedly extinct in Sarla. He took her back to camp with plans to train her to become a brutish killer. It didn't work out so well. During an accident while training, she was knocked unconscious. She isn't quite sure how she ended up here, but she's decided that they must have taken her and dumped her somewhere.

Up for love: Seeing as she's so young, I seriously doubt it.

Other: (Anything we missed?)

Name: Shawnee (Family name unknown)

Age: 20 in the last SH

Gender: Female

Race: Healer

Rank: Healer

Alligence: None

Appearance: She appears younger then she really is, short, tiny face, and petit frame. Her tiny frame makes fighting a bit of a problem, but much to your surprise she can put up one hell of a good one. She does try and avoid fighting, though. Regardless of how careful she is she still has a scar through her right eyebrow. She isn't ever seen without her cloak covering her hair and most of her face. She still tries to avoid being known as a healer.
Spoiler! :
Image

Personality: She's a quiet one, and she doesn't often speak. Unless of course it's to Seghed, those two just don't shut up sometimes. When she trusts you enough to speak to you, she will only reply to a direct question. She doesn't like to use her healing powers, and doesn't like showing them to anyone either. She's afraid her powers will be abused. Exceptions are always made, though.

From the outside, it seems like she's almost afraid to do anything for herself. Normally, she's waiting for someone else to make the first move. She's nothing near a leader, always a follower. Whatever/whoever seems like the safest to follow is good in her book. When meeting new people she almost always thinks they're against her and they could hurt her.

She's very jumpy, and even the slightest things could send her into fits. Much like a cornered mouse, when she feels very threatened she will fight back. She's surprisingly strong, too. For her size. She'll manage a few strong blows, but fear fogs her common sense and she can be easily stopped.

Flaws: Shy, slightly temperamental, judgmental, a little slow (mentally)

Power/s: She has amazing healing skills.

History: Shawnee has been alone since she can remember. She spent nights with people who looked trustworthy, then left before dawn. When she deemed herself old enough she started to completely fend for herself. Her mother was a healer, but not the kind who was born of Jarelle. She taught herself the basics in medicine, and before she disappeared she would often show Shawnee.

During her time in the city she spent a lot of time hiding. When a tracker had managed to find her, after she had made a run-in with Jarelle himself, she took to the church of Jarelle and claimed sanctuary. Seghed found her in there and helped her escape, she wasn't sure about trusting him at that time, but she went with him. Later to fall for him. She would willingly give up anything to protect him like he has protected her.

Up for love: She's too into Seg to have her eyes on any one else, if anything happened between them she'd be devastated.

Other:

Hey, Scar! I'm hoping I'll be able to stick to this one a little better. :D

Name: Violet De Morag

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Rank: Captain of the Guard

Allegiance: Lyansa

Appearance: Violet’s deep red hair falls in unruly curls to her shoulders, where her lanky, skinny body begins. Her eyes are a very light brown, and her neck is slightly longer than normal. She’s beautiful, but in a rather abnormal way. She only ever smiles when she’s happy in the extreme, and prefers to wear men’s clothing.
Image

Personality: A very tomboyish attitude has kept boys from approaching her for years. Violet loves the taste of strong ale, and so can be found in the tavern more often than not. Her favourite is a small one at the very edge of Lyall, called The Vixen’s Den. Violet dislikes talking with people, and never does unless it’s absolutely necessary. If somebody tries to start a conversation with her, she closes it as quickly as possible.
Although shy, Violet is also incredibly nosy, and can’t resist a locked door, or a hushed conversation. This has gotten her into trouble on numerous occasions, but somehow she managed to secure a position as Captain of the Guard.
Her swordsmanship is passable at best, but she’s stupendous at archery.

Flaws: Nosy, accident-prone, a terrible liar.

Power/s: N/A

History: Violet was born to a poor woman and a duke. Her father abandoned her mother soon after he learned she was pregnant. Violet was born in poverty, and worked as soon as she was able. Her first job started when she was five. Violet’s mother was a very frail woman, often ill. She died when Violet was 12. Violet lived on the streets from then on. When she was 16, an official spotted her throwing stones, with great accuracy, at a pigeon. She was then grafted into the army, and raised to the position of Captain of the Guard at 18.

Up for love: Yes.

Other: She carries a dagger in her boot at all times. This dagger belonged to her father, and is the only thing of his she has.
Image

--------------

Name: Cael

Age: 299

Gender: Female

Race: Dragon

Alligence: Herself, and whoever she takes a fancy to.

Appearance: Cael's scales (Hehe, it rhymes!) are a motley mixture of black and silver, excluding her weak underbelly, which is a calm shade of purple. Spines run along her back, and along her cheeks. Her two horns are curved and notched from their frequent use in battle. Her tail ends in a mace-like spiked sphere. Cael's wings are unlike any other dragon's and a constant source of pride for her. Black spines spread like veins through a thin membrane of translucent blues and greens.

Cael

Personality: Cael is somewhat of a wildfire; argumentative and proud, she'll take any excuse for a fight, and huge insult from the most accidental of missteps. She's also a very fickle dragon, giving her allegience to any human she takes a liking to. Cael also loves to interact with humans, and will seek them out on multiple occasions. These confrontions normally end in Cael burning their home.

Flaws: Battle-hungry, violent, over-sensitive, fickle, back-stabbing.

Power/s: Cael can bend the weather to her will, creating dark clouds and vicious winds alike. She can also see into the hearts of humans, to their deepest fears and desires.

History: When Cael hatched, she found herself in a burned and blackened land. The remains of a farm, burned by her mother, who lay dead nearby. What had killed her, nobody knew. Since then, Cael was nursed by a passing female, Elidea. She still visits her, but prefers to travel alone. About a hundred years ago, Cael met a male dragon by the name of Audax. She now carries his egg.

Cael knows she is expecting, but plunges into dangerous battles anyway.

Up for love: Yes, she's certainly fickle enough to forget Audax.

Other: Nope.

Name: Bristan Lysanae

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Race: Half-elf

Rank: Prince of Lysana

Alligence: Lysana

Appearance: Bristan is above average height and muscular. Despite his princely upbringing, his hands are rough and callused and he has several minor scars on his forearms from years of battle training. His hair is shoulder-length and brown, often tied up into a ponytail.
Spoiler! :
Image

Personality: As the future Emperor and heir to the throne of Lysana, Bristan is all too aware of the responsibility resting on him. Born and raised to be a leader, he excels at decision-making and combat. He is warm and gentle, preferring the company of others to solitude, although he tends to appear solemn from the outset.

However, Bristan is still inexperienced and naive when it comes to leadership; he believes others too quickly and is blind to faults in those he loves. He is uncertain when it comes to change, wavering when new territories or ideas arise. He needs emotional support and reassurance to cope, often turning to his sister for advice.

Flaws: Inexperience is one of Bristan's greatest flaws; he has yet to learn the subtleties of leadership and has a tendency to see things in black and white. He is quick to trust, even if this goes against the judgement of others.
Bristan sometimes finds himself struggling under the pressures of being heir, and has difficulties in dealing with criticism, taking it to heart rather than forgetting it.

Powers: N/A

History: Bristan has always been raised knowing he would one day become the ruler of Lysana, and has been educated as such. He has been part of the Royal Guard for the past ten years, and since the war began he has been instructed to work with his father and the leading members of the Royal Guard to protect Lysana.

He has always been close to Isolde, seeking her for guidance when uncertainty occurs. In the past year he has begun to respect her more as an adult, understanding that she is strong enough to stand on her own without his protective guidance.

Up for love: Yes :)

Tracker:

Name: Mark.

Age: 20

Gender: Male.

Race: Half-elf, half-human.

Alligence: Anyone who's higher in command but usually goes with gut instinct.

Appearance: Brown hair, green eyes, scar across left eye, wears whatever is given to him (seriously). Average height and a bandanna.

Personality: Quiet, calm and usually listens to his surroundings, doesn't talk much. In battle he can be a cunning rogue, a brave warrior and a fierce knight and yet still remain calm and silent. He usually spends his time thinking to himself and never tries to express his opinions. Although he doesn't have many friends you can be sure that he can easily get rid of anyone without any danger to the party... well, most of the time.

His hobbies and interest include: fishing, playing card games and maintaining as much silence as possible... he never tries to shut someone up though cos of his keen sense of hearing things, but this usually leads to him getting shocked and worried for no good reason, as there are alot of wild-life out there. He tends to stick to the back of the group, listening to any danger that could be present.

Flaws: Reacts to loud noises, loner and generally a sad guy - he gets upset after killing alot of people.

Power/s: Stealthy, throws knives accurately and knows how to live in the wilds.

History:

Tends to keep quiet about it, ashamed of his past. Has been hired to kill alot of people, used to pickpocket and loot from shops and when it is brought up he acts as if he didn't do it. An orphan... mother and father were killed after a dragon drove them off a cliff as they were trying to escape from the mountains, was adopted by a thief.

Up for love: Doesn't know what love is.

Other: He likes to eat bananas.

Power: He can't breathe fire, but can bring a hurricane-force wind to bear on a target.
History: Disinherited, he turned to his best friend for help. Amelia took him under her figurative wing; now they're inseparable.

Personality: He can be hot-headed at times. Never the wisest of dragons, he tends to be impatient where scholarship is concerned. In battle he's fearless; in romance, very shy.
