*I'm actually not going to do the female criminal. We have a lot of females already.*

Name: Clarissa Keel

Age: Just turned 16

Gender: Female

Appearance: Clarissa has a mane of brunette hair that goes down to the bottom of her back, though she keeps it tied up. She has porcelain white skin with rosy cheeks. Her eyes are a heavy, dark gray color, she has a small mouth, and she stands at five feet five inches.
Image

Criminal/Soldier/Royalty: Maid to Leda

Personality: Clarissa is a sweetheart who loves to listen and gives advice when she finds it neccesary. She's used to following orders and she does so well. She's always looking on the bright side of things, always finding something to be glad about. She's actually pretty outgoing, but after living a life following orders from the royals, she's dialed it down. She has a lot of energy and she always has to be doing something with her hands. She's a strong-willed girl, and has even been smacked a couple times because of it, but that doesn't stop her. She can be very secretive.

Skills: Good/skilled with her hands, great at hand to hand combat, good eye sight, good listener, obedient, strong-willed, secretive, great at moving around/getting by without being seen or heard.

Weaknesses: She has bad anxiety and has to be doing something with her hands at all times. She has no memory of anything before she was ten years old. Obedient (but still secretive.). Her eyesight goes blurry if she takes on too much at once/is too stressed.

History: Clarissa was found in a field when she was ten years old. From what she was told by the people who took her in, she had been riding a horse and lightening started. The horse bucked, threw Clarissa forward off its back, and kicked her in the back of the head. The man and woman who saw it happen took her in, gave her a name, and gave her a home. She has no recollection of anything before she woke up in the Keel's house. Because she was hit in the head, her eyesight gets blurry if she gets too stressed. When Clarissa was twelve, she started working in the palace as a maid to Princess Leda.

Up for love: Sure, I guess.

Other: Very close with Princess Leda

Name: Isabella Vidar

Age: 36

Gender: Female

Appearance: Isabella has long curls of brunette hair. She has bright blue eyes and a fair skin tone. She stands always with good posture, at five feet and seven inches.
Spoiler! :
Image

Criminal/Soldier/Royalty: Royalty - Queen

Personality: Isabella is an extremely kind-hearted person. She hates to see suffering. She is a very loving person who loves to be around people. She is very kind and loves all sorts of life (people, animals, plants). She always speaks softly, but she has a way of speaking to get people to do whatever she pleases. However, she has trouble interacting with children, because her own parents were a little cold. As for her husbands "girl problem", she tries to ignore it, but if it gets too bad she talks to her husband about it.

Skills: Surprisingly great with a sword, okay with a knife/dagger, has a way of speaking to get people to do basically anything. Because her hearing is bad, her sense of smell is really good. Knows how to blend in and how to stand out.

Weaknesses: Extremely kind hearted. She has bad hearing, so she can only really hear well if she's not in a crowded place/noise is surrounding her, and if it is noisy she'll only catch a few words here and there.

History: Isabella grew up as a royal, in a different kingdom. She was spoiled but disciplined and taught to be a good person, but her parents were a little cold, hiding it in gifts and anything isabella wanted. She would often spend her days in the garden, the woods, and sometimes got away with sneaking out in peasants clothing and going into one of the towns. She met King (fill in name here) at a ball her father threw in honor of her sixteenth birthday. After she married King (fill in name here), she, of course, moved here. She had two children.

Up for love: No, she's married

Name: Taylor Morning

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance: Taylor has jett black hair cut in the style of a boys. She is petite and stands at five feet ten inches, but she's muscular and very strong. Her eyes are an icy shade of blue and her skin is as white as a cloud. She has calloused hands and feet.

Criminal/Soldier/Royalty: Soldier

Personality: Taylor is a strong believer in anything you can do I can do better. She's a smart, cunning, strong-willed girl who loves to fight. She's outgoing and not afraid to speak her mind and voice her opinion. She's very opinionated and thinks acions speak louder than words. She also believes that if you want to get anywhere in the world, you have to do everything for yourself.

Skills: Great fighter, can use any kind of weapon, smart, quick thinker, strong, strong willed, stubborn.

Weaknesses: Never backs down from a fight. Sometimes provokes fights. She's a little slower on her left side. ANd she's really stubborn. Pushes herself to the point of exhaustion.

History: Taylor grew up with four brothers and three sisters. Her father was a soldier himself, and he taught all of his boys how to fight...as well as Taylor. At first, her father was wary about it, but he decided not much harm could come from it. So he taught her to fight. He taught her the ways of war, the rules, tactics. As it turned out, Taylor was more into it than her brothers. So, she decided to become a soldier herself. She's young, but she's more than ready.

Up for love: Sure

Placeholder. Isha's asked me to join with a male.

Edit: Here he is. And yes, it is the Prince. Also, I may add a soldier. Depends on if I feel up to it.

Prince:

Name: Casimir Vidar.

Age: 20.

Gender: Male.

Appearance: Casimir is tall, dark and beautiful--that's often the way others describe him, regardless of the fact that he's a man and a prince. As the prince of Sarla, he's strong and capable. He stands at a little over 6 feet tall, with dark brown hair, dark blue eyes and tanned skin. He's slim and athletic, and much stronger than he looks. He has muscle, but only if you look closely--not that you'll see it under all that clothing. He is most likely to be seen in exspensive clothes, being a prince, with a dark cloak over the top. Casimir has a few scars, the most noticible being the one snaking down the lefthand side of his face; the result of a past training battle gone awry.
Spoiler! :
Image

Criminal/Soldier/Royalty: Royalty; Prince.

Personality: Despite his somewhat hostile and arrogant first impression, Casimir is actually kind, loving, caring, smart, determined, loyal and fierce, generous once the mask is removed, though he is sometimes easily distracted. He hates to see those he cares about hurt and can get really defensive if someone he likes is harmed, but be warned; if you start asking questions about his business, he'll shut down and try to drive you off, to the point and beyond physical violence. Casimir doesn't get mad easily, but when he does, look out and find cover. He's explosive and sometimes extremely violent, which is definitely not a good thing. He can lapse into quiet moods for hours and more often than not and thinks a lot before speaking or doing something unless it's to cause pain.

He likes to plan things out, if he can. Especially his duties as a prince and soldier. He highly dislikes when his plans are thoroughly screwed up by stupid mistakes--usually mistakes made by those below him and sometimes by himself; he has made his fair share of mistakes in the past, and dislikes when this is pointed out. It's not his fault if something goes wrong, he's the one issuing orders, after all. He also intensly dislikes being called a names especially 'coward' or the like. Casimir often has a blank, cold and uncaring edge to her expression, like he’s lost all emotion or just doesn’t give a damn about the rest of the world. This is usually the norm for him, which also doubles as a mask; He's a prince. It has to hide emotions behind a mask or risk letting the enemy or some other unwanted observer in on his secrets. And besides, he'd never tell you what, exactly, his plans are. At least, not unless they involve you.

Skills: Riding, fighting, archery, fencing, tracking and dagger/knife work.

Weaknesses: Casimir has flaws. Big time. He has compassion, but does not know when to apply it half the time, he dislikes most of the people he's ever met, and has a nasty violent and vindictive streak that tends to get out of hand, especially if he's been drinking. Don't ever give him a spear, lance or a shield; he's hopeless with them.

History: Casimir was born and grew up as royalty. As the only male heir, he was spoiled and given whatever he wanted--except for what he truly wanted, which was to be given a challenge. For most of his life, Casimir was coddled and wrapped up in cotton wool while his father taught him all the secrets of a warlord (at least, when the queen wasn't looking) and encouraged him to learn how to fight. Eventually, the queen relented and allowed him to learn the more dangerous skills that he would need when he became king, not that he's king yet. Like most royal children, Casimir and his sister hardly ever see their parents. To all intents and purposes, the royal family gives their people the impression that they're the prefect, happy little family when really, it's just broken picture with a liking for facades.

Up for love: Of course.

Other: Casimir has a sword and a dagger, with the same design as below on both;
Spoiler! :
Image

Soldier:

Name: Aarin Basir.

Age: 20.

Gender: Male.

Appearance:Tall, around 5'9, with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. He's strong and capable, slim and athletic, and much stronger than he looks. He has muscle, but only if you look closely--not that you'll see it under all that armour. He is most likely to be seen in semi-expensive clothes, being a sodlier, with a dark cloak over the top or his soldier uniform. Aarin has a few scars, the most noticible being the one snaking down the lefthand side of his face and neck, and then down his chest; the result of a past mistake in battle.
Spoiler! :
Image

Criminal/Soldier/Royalty: Soldier.

Personality: Kind, caring, loving, distant, determined, and fiery, Aarin has a fiery temper but is friendly and kind--unless he's angry (which is when his friends and family are being harmed/threatened). Although his temper has a shot fuse, he doesn't lose it often and prefers peace to violence. He doesn't like to fight but can and will if he needs to. He often seems timid and shy, though it's usually just a mask to distract others. He's really brave and proud, but doesn't like to reveal his heritage, whatever it may be.

Skills: Aarin is a guard, and is skilled at fencing, archery, horse riding and dagger/knife work. He's also pretty fast on his feet, even though he limps.

Weaknesses: Aarin has a limp; it's from a sword wound to his left leg when he was younger. One hit and he'd go down.

History: Aarin grew up rough. His parents were both criminals and they tried to encourage him to follow their lead, so to speak. He did, for the first decade or so, but then he realised how wrong it was and, when he was old enough, joined the ranks of Sarla's army. He's been working hard to make up for all the criminal deeds he did when he was younger. Luckily, no one's ever connected Aarin Basir with the infamous Barea couple, who ran a very famous, somewhat illegal black market for at least three decades.

Up for love: Yes.

Other: Has no knowledge of his real parents; some say he's an orphan, others say a king killed his family to hide the truth. Just who, exactly, is Aarin Basir?

Aarin has a few scars, the most noticeable starts above his left eye and cuts over the eye and down his cheek, leaving the eye undamaged, it then continues down his neck and chest. He also has a nasty scar running across his left calf and another on his thigh where he suffered two blows from a sword.

And one more thing; his weapons. ^^ His sword;

And one more request. I've just made a DT for this storybook, the link is here:

post878507.html#p878507

Now, we havn't even started the storybook, and we have 22+ replies. That's a little nuts. So, here's a new rule:

Any posts that aren't in-character (regular character posts that you see in Storybooks, obviously) or a character profile must be posted in the DT.

(In other words:
---I'm lost! Where are we?
---Somebody bring my characters in!
---Is anybody going to post in this SB?
---When does the SB start?

Any post even similar to that should go into the DT, and not on the SB thread. I'd prefer it if all of you made a quick "Hi!" post in the DT, so that it notifies you when something is posted in the DT (Check back on it, because that something might be important).

Another thing is that rather than posting it in the storybook, if Sakin or I see something amiss about your profile, we'll PM you about it. :)

Sorry if I sound picky, this is just to make everything neater, and to avoid ruining the flow. :) Thanks so much everybody!

Name: Shep

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Appearance: Shep has orangey red shaggy hair and emerald green eyes. He is exactly six feet tall, he is kinda thin, but he is really muscular. He has hands that are too large for his body, and he usually has a straight, emotionless face.

Criminal/Soldier/Royalty: Criminal

Personality: Shep is kind of void of emotion, unless he sees a red head or fire (red head = will looked sad and/or pained. Fire = fear and will run off). He's kind of blank, but he's always talking, even though it's about completely random things. He usually doesn't shut up unless he has to. He has a soft heart for red haired people and refuses to steal from/hurt them. He's a good listener and good advice giver.

Skills: Good with a knife as well as a sword, great with his hands,stealthy, cunning, dexterital, kleptomatic, great hearing, good listener.

Weaknesses: He can't hurt/steal from a red haired person, because Sara and his father had red hair. He can't be around fire - he just...can't. He'll run away from it if he sees it.

History: Shep's life actually started out pretty good. He had two loving parents and a little sister and he has a pretty good life. But one day, someone broke into their house. Shep's mother hid him in the woven laundry basket and as she was looking for a place to put Sara, Shep's sister, the criminal broke in. Shep's mother tried to run, Sara in her arms, to get help, but the man caught her and slit her throat, as well as Sara's - Shep saw it all happen through the basket. The criminal killed his entire family and burned the house. Shep was forced onto the streets, eight years old and alone, mourning his family. From that day forth, he took to criminalism to stay alive, and in hopes of finding the man who killed his family and complete the saying "an eye for an eye".

Since you guys seem in desperate need of guys, I'll take two. A guy criminal and a guy soldier. Profiles will be up in a jiffy.

Name: Alexander Tiggin

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Appearance:
Spoiler! :
Image

Criminal/Soldier/Royalty: Soldier

Personality: Alexander is as naive as he is condemning. In his mind, there is little room for moral dilemma. Either one is in the right or in the wrong. But he is also incredibly chivalrous, and in his mind if one is in the 'right', then they must be exemplary human beings. Alexander doesn't have any room in his mind for areas of grey. People who dislike Alex call this quality of his thick-headedness. Friends or admirers of Alexander call it bravery. Alexander is very family-centered, even though he had no family to speak of. (Or so he thinks.) He's a romantic, and always plans to settle down eventually with a wife and children. As an adult, Alexander has known very little doubt in his life. Some people admire this, some hate it, and some are jealous of it, but Alexander would not be himself if he felt doubt. (Alexander has known doubt and fear. His childhood was full of it, but Alex put that all behind him in order to reach the state of mind he now has.) Alexander's self-assurance is in a fragile balance with the rest of his psyche, however. One push in either direction will send his entire person tumbling down.

Skills: Alexander is excellent at swordplay, and has quite a bit of stamina. He's a fantastic horseman, as well. He has a calming quality about him that makes any situation seem under control, no matter how desperate. In crisis, panicked women and children seem to cling to his strong, calm person. (Alexander has no knowledge that he is doing this, however.)

Weaknesses: The grasp Alex has on reality is tenuous at best. I can promise that he is going to fall during this SB. (Perhaps not die, but he will have to rebuild himself and how he lives his life.) Challenge Alexander's morals and he will be utterly incapacitated. Alexander only draws strength from knowing what he does is right; should anyone challenge that, Alexander would cease to function as the machine he is now. He also desperately needs friends around and supporting him.

History: Alexander grew up in one of the less wealthy areas of the city. His father was a leather-tanner, his mother a washer-woman. Alexander had four siblings: his twin brother and three sisters. Alex and his twin were the second-eldest of the bunch. Money was scarce, but they survived. But then, one night, a house down their street was set ablaze. The fire grew out of hand quickly, leaping from house to house in a terrible inferno. The houses in the area were dry, old, crammed up against each other. It was easy for the fire to consume everything. Alexander managed to crawl - coughing and hacking and barely able to move from the smoke - out of the house and into a puddle of unmentionables in the street. He collapsed there, and in the end the moisture saved him from the fire.

Alexander woke to find himself alone in the world. The rest of his family: his mother, father, and sisters's charred remains were all found in the ruins of the house. Alexander ran away from the house before anyone could uncover his brother's body. There was no doubt in Alexander's mind that his brother was dead; their room was the most damaged in the house. Alex's brother couldn't have survived that.

Alexander spent a few days wandering the streets. He was rescued by a particularly noble group of soldiers from a sticky encounter with a band of criminals. They took Alexander to the castle, where Alexander promptly enrolled in the military. He was nine years old.

Up for love: Yes!

Other: This would be James's twin, if you hadn't guessed from the appearances and identical early histories.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: James Tiggin
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Spoiler! :
Image
Criminal/Soldier/Royalty
: Criminal (Assassin, mainly. He used to be a thief, but his injury has forced him to re-evaluate his career choice.)
Personality: James is always in control of things. He's cynical and positively reeks of power. Anyone who has encountered James wonders for his sanity, which is certainly not all there. James's dark sense of humor has made him known among criminal circles. His killings always have an unmistakable air of artfulness to them. He lives a lavish, arrogant lifestyle, but is skilled at 'hiding in plain sight', if you will. Living is James's own, personal little game to him. A way of teasing death. And to every life James takes, there is a point to James against death. But he's also quite intelligent, which makes him far more dangerous than your average mentally-addled thug. When he's at his highest, expect James to say things just to stir up trouble. Expect no loyalty from him, either, or for him to behave as is sociably acceptable.
Skills: Like I said, he is excellent at "hiding in plain sight". He can make himself look at ordinary or extraordinary as possible. He's also incredibly talented at "hands-off" ways of harming people. Poisons, gases, throwing daggers, mind games, flames - these are the tools of his trade.
Weaknesses: James isn't stable. Everything is personal to him; sometimes he'll make decisions based on the desire for revenge. These nearly always involve putting himself in grave danger, just for the sake of 'coming out on top'. He'll make brash choices just to feel the thrill of it. And it has gotten him into trouble and will do again. For example, recently James tried to break into a royal storehouse to 'top off his coffers,' so to speak. And - although he managed to escape with a few coins - James was caught in the act and chased out of the warehouse by the royal guard. Just as he was getting away, one of the guards swiped at James wildly with his sword. James was too far away to receive a mortal injury, but his back was sliced open from his right shoulder down to his left hip. The wound put an end to his thievery, and forced James out of commission for months. At this point, James has just started to get back into the game, but he must be very careful not to tear the thin layer of scar tissue and scab that keeps his wound shut. Even when it heals, the injury will prevent James from ever reaching the lithe and flexible state he once prided himself in.
History: James grew up in one of the less wealthy areas of the city. His father was a leather-tanner, his mother a washer-woman. James had four siblings: his twin brother and three sisters. James and his twin were the second-eldest of the bunch. Money was scarce, but they survived. But then, one night, a house down their street was set ablaze. The fire grew out of hand quickly, leaping from house to house in a terrible inferno. The houses in the area were dry, old, crammed up against each other. It was easy for the fire to consume everything. James managed to crawl - coughing and hacking and barely able to move from the smoke - down into what passed as the cellar of the house. (In reality it was little more than a small stone cabinet under the kitchen floor.) He was able to stay safe in the cellar until the fire died down. Terrified at the inferno raging above him, Jason stayed huddled in the cellar for three days before finally daring to emerge.
He rose to find his house in ruins; his parents and siblings' bodies were nowhere to be found but for fragments of bone under the house's fallen beams. James refused to leave the house for nearly a week after that; his mind told him that his family would return to him. He lived off a store of food in the cellar, but, in the end, he became so hungry that he gnawed on the bunt wood to stave off the hunger. That night, James tore himself away from his home and began to wander the city. He turned to petty thievery to earn his bread, but James eventually stepped on the toes of a powerful group of thieves. They snatched him from the streets and gave him the cliche ultimatum: join or die. (This group was perhaps not the brightest in the city.) James joined, obviously, and slowly worked his way into the bigger and more wealthy crime circles. Eventually, James found a large, expansive cellar under one of the city's more notorious districts. Obviously a large house had once stood on top of the sight, but it had long since been destroyed, leaving only the cellar. Jason moved in, furnished it lavishly, and called it his home and base of operations.
Up for love: Erm. Yes, but he'd be super possessive. It'd probably be a destructive relationship, at best.
Other: This would be Alexander's twin, if you hadn't guessed from the appearances and identical histories. Also, the location of James's home has spurred an interest in the old architecture of the city, mainly the locations of old cellars and rock quarries. James has mapped out large areas of the city, paying close attention to the entrances to these underground hideaways. Eventually he wants to connect the old cellars and create a haven of winding, twisting labyrinths under the city, placces where he can retreat to in necessary. And also - Small side note here - but he was the assassin sent to kill Shep's family. Drama will ensue. :D
Name: Marcus Wright
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Spoiler! :
Image
Criminal/ Soldier/ Royalty: Soldier
Personality: Marcus is painfully hopeful, truly believing that he can make a difference in the world by helping to remove the criminals who roam the streets of Sarla. He has quite clean-cut morals, believing that sticking to the law and to the rules is always the better option, and tries to place these above his own personal feelings - he has a tendency to remove himself emotionally from situations once they become part of his occupation lest his emotions get in the way of his decisions.
When his issues with morals are not part of the equation, Marcus is unwaveringly loyal and friendly, placing absolute trust in his friends and having huge faith in the current social system - even when negative elements of society are pointed out to him, he remains confident that the future will eradicate them, and that as long as he does his duty this will be achieved.
Marcus is a very sociable person, and is very into talking things out rather than bottling things up. He dislikes being alone and will often seek the company of others, whether with those he knows or with strangers on the streets of the city. He can be highly protective over those he cares about.
Skills: Marcus is a very strong soldier, being not only good with weapons but also at hand-to-hand combat. He has strong faith in the regime that he is part of, meaning that he is able to put his all into his work to do what is necessary to catch criminals.
Weakness: He gets highly uncertain in areas of grey morals - he usually looks to his superiors in times like this. He is also not incredibly intelligent and can struggle with abstract ideas or be slow to grasp new concepts.
History: Marcus was born into a fairly middling level of society, raised by a law-abiding family with a military background.
At the age of 19 he was ready to settle down with a woman, Analise, with little intent to go by his father's hopes in following a career in law enforcement. His father's attempts to persuade him towards this path fell on deaf ears.
That is, until the summer of Marcus' 20th year, when Analise was killed, simply as the byproduct of a brutal robbery on her family home.
From that moment on, Marcus became driven by the goal of avenging her death by trying to reduce the levels of crime in Sarla, finally going down the route his father had hoped for and training hard enough to become one of Sarla's elite soldiers. His morals towards criminals, even those who haven't directly killed anyone, is based upon his personal experience of the consequences of them being able to wander freely around the city, and as such he can be merciless to those he knows to have broken the law.
Up for love?: Yes
Other: After several months of coercion and persistence, he has managed to find a friend in Shanaela, though he is unaware of her criminal background, or of the fact that she is the one to have murdered his fiancé.
Guess I'll take the king!
Name: Cornelius Vidar
Age: 43
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Spoiler! :
Image
Criminal/Soldier/Royalty: Royalty, King
Personality: He's very secretive when it comes to his work as a king. He is incredibly caring and will do anything for his family and his people. He can become quiet heartless when it comes to the criminals, but it's only because he can't see their side of things. He isn't a temperamental man and tries to be fair. He has a knack for thinking things through fully before acting out. He loves teaching people knew things like how to fight and he's quick to correct mistakes.
Skills: He is incredibly intelligent and can be quite wise. He is a great plan-maker and an amazing leader with the ability to care for his people and listen to their problems. He's quick on his feet and is fairly fit. He's an amazing swordsman and he's not bad with a bow and arrow.
Weaknesses: He's horrible at being a father, and he's greedy with women (yes I went there!) and can't help himself from flirting. He has a terrible temper and takes things out on the wrong people sometimes without thinking about it.
History: Cornelius grew up in Sarla and he's following in his father's footsteps. His brother was heir to the throne, but he was killed in a battle with a distant country when Cornelius was only twelve. He met Isabella at a ball for her sixteenth birthday and fell in love at once. He has two children that he loves and has wishes that they both marry royalty.
Up for love: He's married, but that doesn't usually stop him.
Other: Even though he might find interest in a woman, he wants nothing serious from them.
I have writer's block. I can't write. It is the will of the gods. Now, I must alphabetize my spice rack.
