Behind the Scenes

The DT: post872703.html#p872703

The ultimate test of the human mind came not in the form of a monster from my worst nightmare, or havoc wrecked by nature, but in a man himself. I only saw his face on the last day. The only day I chose right. Because, sometimes things just aren't your decision.

"And, cut!"

The makeup artists rush out, the cameramen re-ajust the settings, and then you get to shoot it all over again. such is the life of a moive star, like you! You have been chosen to play one of the roles in the lastest hit film- Mindless. This film centers around the drama of a poor girl visited one night by the Masked Man. He tells her she must do everything he says, or she dies. From then on, he tests her to do every painful, emoitionally scarring thing he can imagine, until one day she reaches her limit, and ends his game herself.

More About the Movie Plot:

Spoiler! :
The main character, Jannette, is living a simple life as a Student Teacher in a small town. She is visted one night by Anthony, or the Masked Man. Handsome and thrilling, his role is that of a seductor and a controller. He also is caught up in his own game of seeing how far someone will go to save their own lives. In his game, the only way out is death.

When Jannette goes missing one day, her brother(Ryan) is quick to go after her, along with Jannette's best friend, Anna. Their searches are fruitless, but they fall in love along the way.

Aiding the masked man are his two assistants, Livvy and Kennis. Livvy worships Anthony, which only complicates the plot. Kennis is her older brother and only is with her to protect her. They pop up in every place Janette goes to under one disguise or another. It's not until near the end she realizes they are following her. They do the dirty work for the Masked Man. He plans on disposing of Livvy one he finishes with Jannette. She finds this out through the plot.

Also wound into this thriller is Jannette's boyfriend, Marcus. As one of her trials she must meet him where he is vacationing in Paris and tell him she never loved him, ending their relationship on the top of the eifell tower.

Some of Jannette's Trials Are:
-He forces her to steal valueable objects
-She must live a week alone on the streets with no money
-He drugs her then she wakes up Switzerland. She has no clue where she is
- She has to break up the relationship with her fiancee-to-be on his vacation in Paris
-She must cut off all contact with her parents/family/friends
-She also must write a letter to them telling them she plans to committ sucicide, so they think she's dead
-She has to steal a baby out of it's home and leave it on the street
- She has to choose between killing her best friend or brother

Anna and Ryan are both captured by the Masked Man later, leading to the final scene. At the final scene, Jannette is locked in a large, white room with her brother and Anna. She is told someone must die. She pulls the trigger on herself. And there the movie ends.

Name: Macee Raymond

Roll: Jannette

Age: 21

Apperance:
Spoiler! :
Image

Personality: Off-camera she's bubbly, sweet, and a little shy. She can be a bit of a klutz sometimes, and a little quirky. She's still in really-a-limo?-for-me? mode. She can't believe her dreams are coming true and she's really grateful for eveything she has. On-screen she has a very natural talent and apears very confident. She loves to sing, above everything else. She loves people and adores all of her fans. She's a bit oversensititve to things, though, and worries about other people a lot. She gets a little nervous when she is put on the spot and babbles if she really gets scared. She is a bit childish and immature, but trys to act her age. Her perkiness and immaturity get on peoples nerves a lot.

History: Macee came from the middle of nowhere. She grew up a small town girl in Gerogia. From a very young age she was recognized for her singing voice, and that launched her to develop her skills all throughout high school. Senior year of high school, a developing director (Mr. Roberts) stopped in on her high school's preformance of West Side Story, in which she played the lead role of Maria. He offered her a roll in a musical he wrote, which she quickly accepted.

During a rehersal, an old friend of Mr. Roberts stopped in and saw a large amount of potential in Macee. His brother was the president of a record label company: Generation Inc. All it took was one demo CD and Macee had a record deal. With the encouragement and blessing of Mr. Roberts, she dropped his musical and took the record deal. Three months later, her first album of contemporary-country music with a classical influence came out. Before long it seemed like everywhere she went people knew her name, though she only had one song make it to the Top 40 charts: Motorcar.

A year later she went back into acting and took private lessons with the money she was earning from her album. Soon after, her agent showed her the script for Mindless, and coaxed her into auditioning, despite the fact that it was very likely the roll was going to an already famous actress, Kiera Knightly. Kiera bailed on the movie, though, and Macee was given the part of Jannette and will be singing some of the music for the movie.

She does her best to keep in touch with her family but misses them terribly as both of her parents work. She has a little brother named Austin and a sister named Ellise who worships her. Her family still lives in Gerogia as they became attached to the house and didn't want to leave it behind. They visit during holidays and for big events. Though her music sales are enough, to make money she also helps teach voice lessons at a small theatric center for the arts about ten miles from hollywood.

Acting History: She has a CD out and is currently working on songs for her second. Lots of acting lessons and some small-town musicals, but nothing in film.

Up For Love: Absolutely.

Other: She is a very strong Catholic. Her theme song is "Ain't In Checotah Anymore" by Carrie Underwood.

Name: Thurber Washington

Roll: Kennis

Age: 28

Appearance:
Spoiler! :
Image

Personality: Thurber is often loud and abrasive and used to doing whatever the hell he wants. He is used to being the center of attention in his plays and still acts like this on set, though is trying to curb this habit. He can be funny and charming when he needs to and, for all of his jackassery, people like him. Usually. He loves the wimminz and has a slight horndog streak in him.

History: Thurber grew up acting in his church. He started doing plays in high school and eventually made it to Broadway, where he became famous for his perfect timing and comedic skill. He has the ability to turn almost anything into a joke and often uses this as an advantage.

Acting History: This is actually Thurber's first film. Previously, he was a Broadway actor who was wildly popular in comedic plays but has decided to make his film debut in drama. The critics ragged on his decision to go into drama first, but he is determined to be totally awesome and show them he's a versatile actor that can do more than comedy.

Up For Love: A'yup.

Other: Thurber carries a small pistol with him at all times and also only likes to wear suits when not acting.

Name: Ginger James (Ginny only to those close to her)

Roll: Anna

Age: 24

Appearance:
tumblr_ll9zkgQW961qggcr6o1_500.png
tumblr_ll9zkgQW961qggcr6o1_500.png (309.75 KiB) Viewed 413 times

Personality: Ginger is difficult to read. Being a Gemini she has two sides to her. One side is good, does charity work, is a good role-model, is nice to everyone, and always behaves. The other side of her is bitchy, will fly off the deep end, throws things, yells at people, and parties. Some ball it bi-polar but really, that's just Ginger.

History: Ginger was a child star. Her double sided personality gave her the ability to play many roles and by the time she was 12 she had made a name for herself. Her parents, who reside in Napa Valley, have always been supportive of Ginger's desire to be an actress. They never had money issues (her father owns an air port for private jet/airplane storage-many celebrities use his services. He also dabbles in real estate, the luxury condo kind. His newest development in France is donating the use of their condos to the cast while they film there) and Ginger could always afford a leg up on the competition. She loves to act and is very talent and classically trained.

The result of her talent and fame is Ginger's inability to trust anyone. Because she can't trust she usually is fairly rude to the people around her (co-stars, crew, directors, producers, etc. but she is nice to fans!) She has very very few close friends and mostly keeps to herself. While her "angry side" can get the better of her she hasn't had many media scandals. She likes to keep her business to herself...but she's really not opposed to going over the deep end, she just needs a little push. She is an only child.

Acting History: Ginger has been in many films. The ones when she was younger were mostly kids movies and not too popular. In her teens Ginger was cast as the lead in a popular drama on tv about teen angst and societal pressures. She worked in television for a few years on a few other shows then decided to focus solely on movies. Recently she has been in a few block buster hits and one film she played a supporting role in was nominated for an Oscar. She wants to win an Oscar and has the talent to do so, she just needs the right role. While she doesn't think the role of Anna will win her anything she wants to be viewed as versatile.

Up For Love: Of course.

Other: Since she's been in the spot lot her whole life Ginger has had issues in the past with things like eating disorders and alcohol. The alcohol is nothing to worry about but she considers her appearance a key factor in landing parts and at times goes to extremes to lose those extra pounds. She will also excessively work out to bulk up on muscle for an action flick or do anything necessary for any other role.

Looks like I'm playing a man then. Let's make it a manly man ;) I'll take Anthony and post the bio soon ^^

Name: Jake "Jaspar" Noel
Roll: Anthony/ The Masked Man
Age: 31
Appearance:
Spoiler! :
Image

Personality: Confident, mischevious and altogether a rather charming man. Jake has a predatory grace about him that seems to make girls just go crazy but sets men on the defensive. Few men like Jake simply because everything about him feels like a threat. But, these days at least, he isn't outwardly offensive or violent, he's usually polite and maybe a little cheeky toward his male rivals but also friendly and easy going. Contrary to most male stars, Jake is actually not all that demanding. He just loves people to see him and is as easily pleased by a woman swooning as he is by a man's clear signs of being threatened.

History: During his teens, Jake was a regular school bully, popular amongst his peers through fear and confidence. There isn't a single person in his class who didn't wish him harm at some point during their time together, but unfortunately for them, only good things have happened to Jake. After school he bummed around for a bit, working part time at his dad's garage, but mostly breaking hearts and goofing around.

Then his dad came into some money when a well off relative of theirs died so he decided to retire early and handed the reigns of the garage to Jake who was just 21. Now Jake wasn't too happy about this; he'd have much rather had a share of the money instead and he had no intentions of working hard at a business or spending his whole life on his back under a car with oil dripping in his hair. So Jake sold the place, much to his father's distress, and moved out of his parent's house with the money he made.

After that, it just seemed to happen. Jake had always been interested in drama and it was the only subject he'd excelled in at school and was partly the reason he felt such a strong need to impress on the other children just how strong and scary he was. Boys who liked to sing and dance had two options. Either they got bullied or they were the bully and the second of thoses suited Jake much better.

He auditioned for a few small parts and his boyish charm and good looks meant he was picked up very quickly and agents were just dying to get a claim on him. So he started acting and pretty soon changed his name to Jaspar since he'd never really liked Jake anyway.

Acting History: Jake didn't play the small roles for long before he knew he'd be happier playing a leading role for a small production than a small role for a leading production. He wanted to be the male star and soon he was. If he doesn't get the big part then Jake will accept no less and as such he's starred in a lot of low end films but many of them have seen a boost from his performance (or maybe just because he's so sexy) which in turn boosted him up to getting better offers.

Up For Love: Yes.

Name: Hayley Heller

Role: Livvy

Age: 22

Appearance:
Spoiler! :
Image

Personality: Hayley is sweet and quiet. She always tries to think optimistically, but this can be hard for her at times. She wants what is best for everyone and tries to make everyone feel happy. She doesn't talk much and is very shy, and others may get the impression that she is anti-social. She is not, however, as she loves the times that she spends with her family and friends, however, she does not always know what to say and gets stressed easily. Hayley loves performing because it is the only place she can really loosen up and be herself.

History: Hayley grew up relatively simply, in an apartment in Connecticut with her mother and older sister. They were both successful ballerinas, and Hayley was somewhat pressured to follow in their footsteps. Despite this, she loved Ballet, and it quickly became her passion. In school, she was on a friendly basis with everyone but made virtually no close friends. She made good grades and everyone was surprised about how good of a ballerina, and later actor, that she was. Her mother and sister encouraged her to pursue her dream and go further than her simple origins, which they both knew that she was capable of.

Acting History: This is Hayley's first film. She never had formal acting lessons, but did participate actively in high school's drama program. She never would have gotten into it had it not been for fellow students who strongly recommended her to take it. She enjoyed it thoroughly, and everyone who saw Hayley perform agreed that she was talented. However, she considered it a secondary hobby to ballet, which was her true passion. She fell out with acting after high school, but continued with ballet. In college, she began to realize how much fun she had truly had and how much she missed performing shows. Hayley started to minor in theater, and as a senior in college, she heard about the film and was encouraged to try out. She didn't think she would be selected, but nevertheless jumped at the opportunity. She was both surprised and excited when she heard that she had made it, a few weeks after she had graduated. She tried to continue with ballet, but so far loves the experience of making the movie and the taste that she has had of the life of an actor.

Up For Love: Yes. Her only relationship thus far was in her sophomore year of high school. It lasted for three months, but was filled with a lot of fighting and far from ideal. Her experience with it has made her afraid of falling in love again, but inside she deeply wants to find someone who can truly love her and she can truly be happy.

Other: Hayley keeps a nightly journal in which she records all of her thoughts and feelings.

All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.

We don't have everyone, but for now we can say that they aren't needed for filming yet/the scenes won't include them. For the first post, we are starting when they get the news to their roll in the film.

Macee Raymond

I paced around my apartment. Suddenly I felt so small, like a young child on a big stage. The brightly colored picture-portrait of me hanging on the wall in the kitchen suddenly seemed ten times larger, and it had already been way too big in the first place. My agent, Rosaline, had given it to me a week after Motocar hit the Top 40 charts. She had been so proud. I didn't like it. It made me feel concieted. Not to mention it looked extrememly out of place in my very small apartment, bought from what money I didn't send home after my CD hit off.

That CD, the music, the joy, it seemed so far away now. Now all on my mind was the cell phone that rested on the counter. One phone call was going to change my life.

One phone call I should have gotten by now.

Maybe they weren't going to call me. Maybe Kiera changed her mind. And of course they would choose her over me. She was a famous actress, for crying out loud. Who was I but just a little classical-country singer?

A few bars of Kerosene blasted from the counter and my cell phone lit up. I scrambled over to the phone and picked it up breathlessly.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hello," an automated voice responded, "do you feel your credit score-" I hung up the phone with a few mild cusses.

This time, not even letting go of the phone, I began pacing again, picking an apple up as I walked past the bowl on the table. A moment later, the apple was dropped as my cell phone began to ring again. I spit the piece of apple in my mouth out into the sink and answered.

"Hello?" I took a deep breath.

"Hello, is this Macee Raymond?" I didn't recognize the voice. This was good, this was progress.

"Yes, yes this is her. I mean, well yeah. I'm Macee." My words rushed together.

"I am pleased to inform you that Scripted Studios and the director Micheal Ramone have chosen you to play Jannette in the upcoming film, Mindless. You should get your contract-"

"Are you serious?" I gasped, and let out a little squeal.

He sounded bored, "Yes, quite serious. As I was trying to say, I have been in touch with your agent and she will bring you your contract as well as other forms an papers that will need to be filled out. I look foward to working with you. Have a nice day." And he hung up. I put my phone down onto the counter and burst into relieved and happy tears.
Love is beautiful, but what would love be without life?

Jaques

The limo cruised around the streets of LA, taking me to Cafe Rouge. My agent, Fernando, had told me to meet him there. I couldn't possibly imagine why, unless...

It could possibly have something to do with the movie I recalled auditioning for. Something about some killer and a stupid, confused chic. I would obviously be playing lead. Thats what the meeting must have been about! Fernando was cute, thinking he needed to set up a whole meeting to tell me what I already knew. Still, the thought was nice.

The limo pulled up in front of the cafe, and I pulled my sunglasses and hat on. I wasn't in the mood for annoying, ceaseless fans right now. Not that the limo wouldn't attract attention, but tons of people rode around in limos in hollywood. It was a pretty clear display of a lack of wealth if you didn't.

I strode into the cafe, waiting for the big news.

Later

"What do yo mean I didn't get the part I wanted?"

Ginger James-

I sat at the table near the window on the second floor of the restaurant, looking down at the alley way. Sunlight filtered through illuminating the dumpsters. I tapped my painted fingernails on the counter, they were black except for the ring fingers on each hand, which were patterned with black and white polka dots-apparently all the rage.

"Ginny," my agent, Roman, said. I looked up and he raised his eyebrows at me. Roman was attractive, from his perfectly only-a-little-bit-messy dark brown hair, to his striking blue eyes, to his designer suit-he was incredibly attractive. And he was a great agent, smart, decisive, and always looking out for me, he was my only real friend, "They're here."

I looked up to see Michael, the director, and his entourage gliding through the restaurant, "Ginger James!" he said, stopping at the table. I stood up and he looked me up and down, "sexy as ever." An assistant with an iPad in her hands was scribbling away and talking in to her bluetooth in low tones, a man in a dark suit with sunglasses propped on his head had a blackberry out and was texting, a woman in a chic dress stood at the window tapping her foot, and a giant man in a black muscle shirt stood guard over them all.

"How are you Michael?" I asked, letting him land a kiss on my hand.

He pulled a chair up to the table and crossed his legs, letting out a sigh, "well it's been crazy. This girl we've got for the lead, it's her first movie. Now honey-" he leaned over, resting a hand on my knee, "you know if you would have wanted the lead we would have given it to you."

Roman spoke up, "We talked about it a lot and that wouldn't be a good career choice right now." I bit my lip to stop a smile. No offense to Michael but being the lead in one of his teen drama-horror movies was no where near a step in the right direction. I was going for versatility, not desperation. Michael's eyes slid over Roman and I caught the eye roll-Roman and Michael did not get along. Roman turned to look at me, "besides, Ginger has some big productions lined up." That, of course, was a lie. I didn't have any thing line up, not yet. But the truth doesn't matter in Hollywood.

Michael smiled at me, "well I think you'll make a great Ann. We've just about got all the casting done and I've got the contract here-" he put his hand up and snapped his fingers. Panic exploded over the face of the assistant as she scrambled through her bag. Michael waited for a few seconds then looked back at the terrified assistant who muttered an excuse about the contract being gone. He sighed and turned back to me.

"Well, that's embarrassing," he said with a laugh before abruptly standing, "well I'll have my people send it over to your people-you can handle that can't you Roman?" I stood and looked back at Roman who nodded curtly at Michael, "great well, we'll be in touch." He kissed my cheek and like a title wave they were off.

"God, let's get out of here," Roman said, picking up my jacket. I slipped my arms in and shook my long red locks out. A waitress came over and asked if we wanted to take our untouched food to go. I scrunched my nose and shook my head, then she asked for an autograph. I scribbled my name across a piece of paper and Roman offered me his arm, escorting me out of the restaurant.
All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, and I promise you something great will come of it.
