The DT

What if you're the best athlete in your school? The smartest? The one with amazing leadership abilities? Then you may end up in Project Life.

Project Life is a government-run program where high school students are chosen by benefactors to be a part of five-person teams that are stranded on an island with limited supplies. The goal: take out the other teams. Permanently. The last team standing wins.

Each member of each three teams is skilled in a certain area: leading, nature specialization, first aid, stealth, and hunting. They are trained for a month beforehand in their specific area. Every team member is given a backpack with a water bottle, a compass, and a weapon (everyone's weapon should be different from everyone else's). An ax is given to each team that any member can have possession of.

The island is comprised of forests, cliffs, beaches, rivers, a waterfall, and like wildlife. Wild plants and animals are around.

Benefactors can, for absurd amounts of money, either help their team or sabotage another. If you have an idea for something, just post what you want to happen in the DT and I'll either approve or veto it.

Members:

Leader: You are the strategist, the person making the plan. You are generally in the middle of things, making sure it works and if it doesn't improvising another plan. Your special tool is a pair of flint stones.

Nature Specialist: You know what plants are okay to eat, what aren't, where to find water, how to maneuver terrain, and anything else that has to do with surviving in nature. You are generally the one that cooks. Your special tool is a metal pan you can use to either cook food or boil water to purify it.

First Aid: You are the person that tends to people's wounds and ailments. Your special tool is cloth bandages and medical tape.

Stealth: You scout places, spy on opposing teams, and report your findings to the team. Your special tool is a pair of night vision goggles.

Hunter: You hunt, whether it be animals for eating or opposing teams for killing. Your special tool is a spool of wire for setting traps.

Name: Mai Lin Li (Goes by her middle name, Lin)

Weapon: Bow and Arrow (Probably only given a couple of arrows)

Appearance/Picture:

The hair colour and general facial features are the same as in the picture. She keeps it a bit shorter than that and doesn't usually care about how it looks which leads to some bad bed hair. She is very small and skinny which helps in staying out of sight. She likes to wear a simple tank top and blue jeans neither of which are baggy but not overly tight either. Perfect for any stealth.

Personality: Lin is practical and only thinks about what will get her and her team out of any situation alive in the most efficient way possible. She is incredibly smart and is able to think outside the box when trying to sneak by any opposition unnoticed. She likes to take her time and move slowly and is usually very quiet only really ever talking when spoken to. She will mostly be found out of immediate sight and lost in thought though she will like to stay close to the group so she can relax a bit.

Strengths: Very sensitive hearing and sense of smell which helps in detecting threats. She is incredibly smart and agile as well. Good at taking out targets silently with the bow.

Weaknesses: Not very strong at all. Very quiet which means that even if she knows of a better way, she won't voice it. When things go wrong (i.e spotted), she will panic and run rather than fight even if it means running away from her fellow teammates.

Personality: Silvan has always been fairly quiet. He was never the person who stood out, but he wasn't the person who no one noticed. He was somewhere in the middle. He doesn't like being the center of attention, but when he sees someone else being hurt he sticks up for them. He loves nature. He often would spend hours hiking through the woods. This started because his father abused him and Silvan needed a place to get away.
Strengths: He knows many things about animals and plants. His training of course improved his knowledge. He can walk through the woods fairly quietly. He also has learned to make many different calls of birds.
Weaknesses: He doesn't want to kill and he isn't good at relationships because of being abused. He isn't a very good communicator and he doesn't stick up for himself.

Name: Laila Breene (pronounced lay-luh)

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Specialization: Hunting

Weapon: Twin Swords


Appearance/Picture: Laila has jet black hair, which used to be down to the bottom of her back, but a few days before they left for the island, she used her swords to cut off all of her hair to keep it from her face, so it's now extremely short - like, boy short - but it actually turned out really well. Laila also has really big, bright blue eyes framed by thick, black lashes. Her skin is very pale, but not in a bad way. Her lips are a very pale, pearly pink and she stands at exactly six feet tall, is average weight, but due to her height she appears thin. Her arms, legs, and abs are rather muscular though. Laila has a whole bunch of small scars all over her arms from fights she's gotten into, and even has a scar two inches long that goes across her right cheek bone.


Personality: Laila is a rather strong girl who believes firmly in woman's rights and is a feminists. She is a strong believer of "anything guys can do, girls can do better". Laila is someone who isn't afraid of a fight and can get very aggressive, but she knows how to be patient, wait, and stay calm. She is a very opinionated girl, and isn't afriad to tell someone what she thinks. Laila can be very blunt and she never tells a lie, even if it hurts someone.

Strengths: Telling the truth, very strong, very quick, patient, opinionated, cunning, and has much dexterity.

Weaknesses: She never backs down from a fight, tends to antagonize and pick fights, and she can never tell a lie (but be warned, she does choose her words carefully when someone tries to get her to say something she doesn't want to - she does it so that she's still telling the truth but she doesn't put herself in that much danger).

Haha guess I'll take first aid. I didn't know this wasn't one of those Please-Check-Out-This-SB things. I've never been requested before! *Is excited!* I feel so special!

Name: Olive Stars

Specialization: First aid

Weapon: Cloth bandages and cloth tape. Also has one of those little medical kits. Needle and thread. She carries around a small dagger, but it's more for medical purposes than it is to defend herself.

Appearance/Picture: Olive has dark red hair, more of an Auburn. Her hair is always in two seperate braids or, at the very least, a french braid. Her hair always all over the place, even up. She has a giant freckle on her right cheek. More, smaller freckles dot her nose randomly. She has a lithe body and can't stand more than 5'5. Olive dresses in head scarves and regular scarves, comfortable jeans, and sundresses or long shirts. *Pic to come*

Personality: Olive is rather scatter-brained, her foucus never completely on one thing. She has an incredibly kind soul, and can never avoid someone in need.One could even go as far to describe her as "hippie-ish". Although Olive isn't the loudest kid on the block, she sure isn't the quitest. She'll speak her mind without fright, and sticks up for her belief's. She never was a crowd follower, and sure isn't about to start now. What Olive really hates is making decisions. She just hates to be the crossroads.

Strengths: She is incredibly skilled with her hands, be it painting or healing. She's smart in all area's, but particularly in the heath field. Clever. She's an amazing healer and can heal almost anything, be it broken bones or a bad scratch. She's ok with changing location's a lot: she's used to it, being that she moved a lot as a kid.

Weaknesses: Forget about being skilled with her hands: this girl's a total clutz when it comes to her feet. She's not that athetic. Her mind being all over the place is both a strength and a disadvantage: it's often hard to get her to focous!

Personality: He's the good-natured kind of guy you see taking control in games like capture the flag or dodgeball; the one that wants to win and tries really hard, but isn't going to hate the world if he loses and won't hate you if it's your fault. He can be really competitive, and take things really seriously, but for the most part tries to make everyone feel like an important part of the team. He often resolves fights and is a peacemaker, but if you get into an arguement with him about something he's seriously passionate for, well, you better have a good argument and be ready to stand up hard, because he can get fierce.
Strengths: Fighting with his spear, his leadership abilities, his planning skills, his people skills.
Weaknesses: Can sometimes be blinded by biases and personal relationships, other times won't give a damn how this affects you because there's a bigger goal out there, can take the situation too seriously (even more serious than it is) and this can affect how he acts, a lot.
Other: He's generally well-liked and respected, despite his personality malfunctions.

Dustin Moore

Dustin stood at the rail of a large ship, his four teammates beside him. Salty water splashed at his feet as the ship slowed and lowered anchor. He leaned over the rail and watched as a small row boat attached to the ship with a thick chain was dropped into the water. Descending a rope ladder, he and the other four players climbed down into it, two taking up rowing posts. When they made it to the shore, they all climbed out and the row boat was pulled back to the ship, which set sail and quickly disappeared.

"Okay," he said, "first thing's first; we need to set up a camp."

The group nodded; they knew the drill. Though they weren't allowed to talk much strategy in training and when they were they hadn't agreed on much, this they had; they had no chance if they were wandering around the island with no where to wait for their teammates.

"We'll need a ready source of water and to be away from poisonous plants; Silvan, stay ahead and stay focused. We'll want high ground with a lot of cover, so we should start walking up the slope. Any objections?"

Sorry for the sucky post; I'm really tired, plus not at my house and... yeah. I just wanted to get this started. You are now all free to start.

Silvan Black

I stood at the edge of the boat taking in the island ahead of us. It looked like a hilly terrain with woodland covering most of it. I breathed deeply trying to keep myself calm. Today was the day. I had so many mixed feelings. I was glad we were here though. From the instant I was chosen for this I had been waiting. Now, even if I died, soon this whole thing would be over.

At this point I wasn't thinking what life would be like if I got home or about my family. I couldn't let myself. Even if we had one of the best teams our chances were no greater than the others. Plus, I didn't even know what the other teams were likes. I only new their names. We weren't even allowed to know the names of the players on them.

By now we were to the shore. I quickly clambered out. As soon as the row boat had turned away everyone looked expectantly at Dustin. We hadn't been able to plan much during our month of training, but Dustin was the leader and he must have thought about it.

"Okay," he said, "first thing's first; we need to set up a camp." I silently waited for more.

"We'll need a ready source of water and to be away from poisonous plants; Silvan, stay ahead and stay focused. We'll want high ground with a lot of cover, so we should start walking up the slope. Any objections?" I straitened a bit as I heard my name. When he had finished I took a half step forward.

"Well, even if we can't find water right away we can get a lot from the plants. This looks like a tropical place. If we can find fruit there should be water in that, plus," I gazed around at the trees, "It looks like some of these trees are the type that hold lots of water. As long as we find water in the next few days we should be fine for now." I stepped back kind of shocked at my own words. I was never the kind of person who stepped up to the plate or took charge. Now I was even kind of embarrassed for it.

"Sorry," I muttered quickly looking down to hide my face.
