When Colt walked her to her door later-after they had dropped Cole off-he had the urge to kiss her. "Hey Pippa," he said, she turned around to face him.

"Yeah?" she asked innocently. He wanted to punish her for her innocence, or what was better to say was that he wanted to punish himself. He was taking advantage of her. He was taking advantage of her.

The only way he could comprimise with that thought was to do what he wanted to do, he took her by the nape of the neck and drew her up to him, "Would you be angry with me if I kissed you?"

Pippa could hardly breath with him being so close. She scolded herself for not having better control.

"I-" What was she supposed to say to that. "No?" She managed to squeak out. He pulled her closer and their lips touched. She felt herself press towards him as his other arm wrapped around her waist. When he pulled back she could hardly breath, let alone think.

"I'll see tomorrow?" He asked touching her cheek softly. She swallowed hard and nodded numbly. What was it about this stupid guy that made her go all wobbly in the knees. He was just a guy, and she couldn't even convince herself fully that he wasn't just playing with her.

"Ya." She said smiling a little.

"Good, see you later." He kissed her lips again and then jumped in his car driving off. She watched him go her heart pounding harder then it ever had.

You really think he likes you? A voice in her head laughed. No way he likes you.

Shut up, let me enjoy this. She walked up to her room and laid on her bed feeling like she was floating on thin air. This was amazing!

Colt drove a little faster tehn normal, his mind still back with Pippa. Boy, that kiss! He shook his head a smiled. She was a amazing. His phone vibrated and he picked it up.

"Ya?" He answered.

"Your not playing fair!" Brent growled.

"Who said anything about playin?" Colt asked.

"Ha! You want to win the bet as much as I do." Brent laughed.

"How about we drop the bet." Colt said as he pulled up tohis house.

"You kidding me, I'm broke. Plus, I'm not going to lose this bet. I'm gonna try twice as hard, you just wait and then cough up the money." Brent hung up and Colt slammed his fist on the steering wheel the horn blaring.

The next day Brent got to school and waited for her. They were gonna ditch class today, he had decided, he had already called in sick for both of them and he doubted very much if either of their parents would care.

As soon as she started to walk by he grabbed her arm and started towing her through the cars. "Uh...what are you doing?"

"We're going to the fair," he said simply.

"I went last night."

"With Colt and Cole right?"

"Yeah, instead of going to the party."

"Exactly, you owe me."

"But...school?"

"Will still be here tomorrow."

"But they'll call my parents." She said trying to stop again.

"Nope, I called you in sick." He replied with a triumpent smile. But I want to see Colt! She wanted to scream.

"What am I going to tell my step mom?" She asked.

"Nothing." He smiled.

"My step sisters will tattle!" She told him as he opened the door of his car.

"No they won't, I've dealt with that too." He replied.

"Fairs closed." She tried.

"Nice try, just get in." He smiled. She finnally did, not really knowing why she did and buckled up as he climbed in too.

Brent was surprised to find that he wasn't bored at all with her. he wondered why nobody liked her. She had a surprising charm. He couldn't blame Colt for actually liking her. If it wasn't for the fact that everything she said he couldn't relate to or care about he would too. He just wasn't bored by it.

He wast tempted to call or text Colt just to gloat.

Leal smiled as they got on another ride. Brent wasn't bad, he wasn't the easiest to talk to, but he wasn't bad.

"So, are you and Brittney still dating?" She asked.

"Nope." He replied with a smile. She nodded and kept her eyes forward. She wasn't going to give him any ideas.

Colt and Cole waited by Pippa's locker for her at lunch. "Is she sick?" Colt asked Cole.

"SHe didn't say anything to me."

"She's not sick then," Colt determined, the thought was supposed to stay inside his head, he didn't mean for it to come out.

"What do you mean?" cole asked getting a bit defensive.

"You're right next door, one of her best friends-probably closer than that even."

"Oh," he fell silent for a moment. "So what's the deal with you?" he asked.

"Hm?"

"Why are you suddenly interested in us?"

"Well..." Colt thought fast for an easy lie, "one of my friends dared me to talk to her once at school."

Anger flickered through Cole's face. "Wait, this is a dare?"

"Nope," Colt said, "The first time was a dare. I was hooked, she is a rather addicting person."

Cale frowned. "I don't care! Does she know?"

"No, and I'd like ot keep it that way. I wish I hadn't been so stupid to not have met her before. I'm glad someone dared me." He replied.

"I don't care, you shouldn't have done that. Your lying to her." Cale hissed.

"So you rather us have just run into each other?" Colt asked.

"Yes! And you have, several times, you never gave her a second look!" Cale growled at him.

Pippa followed Brent out of the carnival and they headed to a small park where they just walked around.

"So, Mr. Tarver, what makes you you?" SHe asked looking at him.

Colt rolled his eyes, "I'm not the brightest cran in the box K? I've seen her before but this time its different. I actually see her, and have a great respect for you."

He blinked, "why?"

"Because you haven't said anything to her."

"About what?"

"The fact that you like her."

"I don't li-"

"Cap it. Just know, you've got a bit of friendly competition."

"What?"

"I want her."

Cole mearly glared.

"Glare all you want, but I'm not backing out." Colt said.

"Ya, but I have dirt on you, you don' thave any on me. Other then I like her." He growled. "Know this, I'm her friend, I was before you came around, she'll come back to me if anything happens."

"Football, and friends." he smiled.

"And girlfriends." She muttered.

"Excuse me?" He asked glancing at her.

"Nothing, so you really like playing football, huh?" She asked.

"Course." He smiled at her as they walked. She felt him move closer his hand bumping her's. She moved a little away.

"So, how did you meet COlt?"

Colt smiled at Cole, "have you kissed her?"

Cole turned his attention to the ground. "No."

Colt smiled again, "I have."

"You WHAT?!"

"I kissed her."

He blinked. Colt threw his lunch foil in the trash and walked away, still wondering where she was.

Cale clenched his teeth and pulled out his phone.

Where are you?" He texted Pippa.

I was kidnapped, well, kinda. She messaged back.

Explain?

I got called in sick without being told.

Brent!

You got it.

When Pippa got home later that day she walked to the barn and smiled.

"Hey guys." She said as a dog ran over. "Guess I'm a horrible judge of people."

"That's a lie." Someone said from behind her. She spun around.

"What are you doin ghere Colt?" She asked.

Colt glared at her, well not her, her smile. Her Brent smile.

She looked at him wairly. "What are you doing here?" she repeated.

"I came to see you."

She sighed, "what are you talking about then?"

"Brent, he's a liar."

She laughed, "how do you know?"

"I've known him since I was in diapers." He walked closer to her as she moved away to start her chores. He was hearding her towards the wall, or a fence, just something to keep her from moving.

"You know," she said, her tone suddenly teasing, "If I didn't know better I'd say you were jealous."

Her back hit the wall and he saw her eyes widen and her nose flare, he put his hand on the wall to prop himself up. "You don't know better," he said leaning in.

"huh?"

"I am very jealous."

"You are?" she swallowed.

"Yes I am. And I also want to kiss you again." It wasn't a question, it was a statement, and when her lips parted slightly he took that as an agreement and lowered his lips to hers. This time was even better than the last. Her response to him was instanttaneous. He pulled her up and she pressed herself against him. When they parted she looked dazed.

Pippa could hardly catch her breath. She looked up at him and smiled. "Wow." She muttered softly. He nodded and then did it again pulling her body close to him.

"Pippa. You need to com e inside." Her step mother growled from the door way. Pippa pulled away but didn't move. She wanted to stay here, stay in his arms.
