Whoa! This sounds exciting! Do I just submit the character page and start writing? ('cause I know some SBs like to wait before the start...)
"I've got dreams like you--no really!--just much less, touchy-feeley. They mainly happen somewhere warm and sunny on an island that I own, tanned and rested and alone surrounded by enormous piles of money." -Flynn Rider, Tangled
We will wait for a bit before starting to write - say, until a few people get their profiles in - simply so that we can base the story on something xP You can, though, write an intro post about Summer coming there, with a bit of retrospective or something, if you wish.
By the way, some info. The rooms would be set somewhat antique-y, with small TVs which don't really show anything and old phones which function only to call down to the reception xP There are basements, which are off limits, as well as attics and a part in which the staff lives (once servants quarters). I'll dig up some pictures when I get to computer, probably.

This is my first storybook so I'm a little unsteady. Once we do start writing, do we post in the main Silver Wind Hotel tag, the one where you explain the plot?

Yup. That one is the Storybook, this one is just a Discussion Topic - story goes there, everything else goes here. While on that, feel free to write in any tense and any person ^^

Okay, so...this sounds really awesome, and I have a super-cool character idea (she might be a distant relation of the Winfields...) but I really don't know how much I can participate before the 13th. Any chance I can join anyway?
I might be able to make a full profile before then, so maybe she could be played more passively if needed before I can fully join?

Yes to all ^^ If she's already there (as a guest or a ghost or whatever), she can just not meet the characters until you come to play her (since there are NPC people there too, I imagine, at least until more people joins).. if she'll be a new arrival, just have her come in whenever you're able to write it :3

Yeah, I'm actually also going to be leaving this next week, so I guess my character will just be a little late in arriving at the hotel, but she'll get there eventually

Alrighty. We have enough people to go, so we'll start this :3 I'll have my character and first post up tomorrow evening/night, but if any of you feels inclined to start or has a post written before that, feel free to post away

Can posts be in third-person? It's just because the rules said no OOC posts and I don't think third-person is exactly in character. I mean, you can make it come from a character's point of view but the narrator still isn't actually the same as the character

OOC refers to posts which discuss the Storybook's plot, random chatting, questions, ideas, concerns and stuff like that. As long as you're posting parts of the story, in a form of a story and with your character as central figure of your posts, it's in character. So feel free to use any person and tense you prefer ^^
Also, my net (probably) refused to let me load pads I wrote the post and profile in <_< they'll be up tonight, in next few hours.

Aaand we started. Apologies for the shortness of that post, though it was somewhat deliberate - as we connect more characters and get them to interact, the posts will probably become longer c:
(Also, it looked longer on phone's screen, I'll admit it xD)
