1) It is possible to find more supplies in the forest, but you have to be very careful in a) choosing what's safe to eat and b) obtaining it.
2) We don't have any plot-twists planned, but if during the SB we see an interesting opportunity we'll probably take it. Not without notifying everybody in the DT first, however!
3) When we say "expect to be separated" we mean that if you find another person in the Forest you can try to stay with them for as long as you like; depending on the circumstances that may be a short time or a long time. But the Forest may kill one person off or chase you apart or get you both lost or any number of things; it will be actively trying to separate you.
4) And yes it is possible to find things in the forest. Not every animal and not every tree is possessed. Most of the older trees and the bigger animals are, but not many of the small ones. There is hope for survival, but it's going to be a long, dangerous ordeal. That's the whole point!
