It's that time again! Last month's goal of 350 was proven too easy with our final number of reviews at 393, which is still pretty good considering it was February (and a month after our record 693). Yet on this coming Sunday, let's aim for a nice, hefty pile of 500 reviews!

So what is a Reviewing Sunday? On the last Sunday of every month, YWS holds a reviewing day. This means:
  • No new literary works can be submitted (you can wait 24 hours!)
  • The Featured Works block on the front page is changed to a Last 5 Reviews block
  • You can earn up to 100 points per review instead of the normal 50
  • A check-in thread in the Lounge for letting everyone know how many reviews you've done

Now, because the Earth is round and it tends to spin, not everyone has Sunday at the same time. So we're going to go by Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and declare 12:01 am GMT to 11:59 pm GMT as the YWS Reviewing Sunday. Some international times for that are below: *read note at end*

United Kingdom: 12:01 am (Sunday) to 11:59 pm (Sunday)

United States & Canada
Atlantic: 8:01 pm (Saturday) to 7:59 pm (Sunday)
Eastern: 7:01 pm (Saturday) to 6:59 pm (Sunday)
Central: 6:01 pm (Saturday) to 5:59 pm (Sunday)
Western: 5:01 pm (Saturday) to 4:59 pm (Sunday)
Pacific: 4:01 pm (Saturday) to 3:49 pm (Sunday)

New Zealand: 1:01 pm (Sunday) to 12:59 pm (Monday)

Australia
Eastern: 11:01 am (Sunday) to 10:59 am (Monday)
Central: 10:31 am (Sunday) to 10:29 am (Monday)
Western: 9:01 am (Sunday) to 8:59 am (Monday)

India: 5:31 (am) Sunday to 5:29 am (Monday)

Note: This time of year is very confusing for different international times due to daylight savings time, which not all countries switch to at the same time. However, to avoid confusion, a countdown clock will be set up in a couple days. If there is any difference between the times stated above and the countdown clock, refer to the countdown clock.
I make my own policies.

H'okay. I might. But I'm actually going to figure out what this DST is all about. (All I know is my alarm clock has an option and I don't know how/when to use it.)

I feel guilty for not having to review more than five this month. I should make the most out of this coming Sunday.

Anyone else notice that because of the timings every time, it's not so much review day but review 23 hours and 58 minutes? What happened to the other two minutes? xD

What happened to that?
I am nothing
but a mouthful of 'sorry's, half-hearted
apologies that roll of my tongue, smoothquick, like 'r's
or maybe like pocket candy
that's just a bit too sweet.

For those of us in the UK, the finishing time would actually be 00:59 am on the Monday, because our clocks move forwards an hour at 1am on the Sunday, so we're no longer in GMT time but BST, which is GMT+1.

I can see why the countdown clock was implemented!
please grant me my small wish; (love me to the marrow of my bones)

Omg, I love review days! It gives the oppurtunity for everybody to make reviews and people with little reviews on their work will get at least one. I think.
