My own brother talks me down. He tells me that I'm wasting time, and I'll never finish my novel. And that it's horrible anyway. Catch is, he hasn't even read two pages!

That’s horrible! Someone with thin skin could be destroyed by remarks like that, though you’re clearly doing fine. (At least, from what you said).
My meanie naysayer is myself when I realize I haven’t gotten time to write in a week. I try to be easier on myself, but it sure isn’t easy.
What's the point of success if it makes me miserable?
