Squills is the official YWS online newsletter. It has staff members, editors, reporters, writers, and interviewers that work every week to get it up and published and running for your enjoyment. It runs similar to how a real newletter would run in real life, with a staff and reporters and everything! So if they can put that on their resume, why shouldn't you?

Possible categories to mark down are:
General editor to online newsletter for a website of 28k members*
General reporter to online newsletter for a website of 28k members
Interview skills
Able to analyze, organize, and present data/information
Experienced with writing articles
Experience with working on a team
Meeting deadlines

*this is for Squills editors only and no, you cannot jump into being an editor. You have to earn it.

Not only that, but if you're really good, as the EIC, I can write you a recommendation letter. Which, as you know, is sometimes required for a resume.

Squills is a good experience, something I encourage you all to become a part of. It's especially swell when you're working on a team as understanding and friendly as the one we have now; on a site like this, you grow attached to the people you work with. Not only will it help you build relationships with someone you've probably never chatted with before, but it will help you in ways you can't imagine.

Squills can and will attribute to you in real life and might even help you get a job or an internship! The experience is sometimes what you need to convince your interviewer to let you on the team, and the letters I'm willing to write can help you even further!

We're always looking for new writers, Whether you want to create your own column or become a General Reporter or sometimes even both. We need you to make Squills what it is.

If you would like to join Squills, please PM Iggy and she will tell you what you need to do.

Haha, great minds think alike Iggy. I actually just put together my first resume, and I listed my Squills position on it. You're right, I think it'll help a lot.

I'm up for this. Aside from the potential resume-building, this could help keep me involved on the site.

@lateritic, by this, I mean -- Squills looks good on a resume if you've been on it for a while. As in, a few months and counting. I love that you'd like to include it on your resume but I need you to actually be committed if you want to join, not just note it down on your resume and neglect Squillsing after that. This isn't an accusation, it's just what I assumed from reading your post. Please tell me this isn't the case and you want to join as a permanent and active member. :)

Heavens no, that's not the case. Do you really think I'd want to join it just to put it down on a resume that isn't even really going to be based off of actual things I've done? *I mean the resume for the English.* I should have been more thorough. I am going to be committed if I get to be part of the team. This wouldn't go on the resume. I am truly interested in joining as a permanent and active member! :)
