Dearest Peers:
It is with great sorrow that I take my departure. Now, I know that I have been quite an inspiration, but I must ask that no tears are shed upon my leave. This stay, though fleeting, as I warned, has been a great one. I am glad to have been able to share my poetry with you, and hope that future generations will be reading my work in their English classes, perhaps even taking a class solely dedicated to my works alone. Soon, no one will even remember the name of Shakespeare, whom I never met. But I must say that ol' Geoff Chaucer was a character, but of course, his work does not surpass my own brilliance. Nonetheless, you will miss me, I am assured. And thus I say, good-bye.
With as much sincerity as I can muster,
