Obama. Obama!!!!!

He won. I seriously thought that McCain was going to win... but no!

Obama won, YAY.

I'm sorry for him though. His grandmom died on monday. It was in the news today.

Obama just rocks my socks

And I don't even live in the US.

I'm with Dream Deep and Sam. I'm happy I don't have to be tackled by the respective parties on campus.

I voted for McCain, but really only because he had a more solid history. I felt like Obama was kind of changing his policies and beliefs for every crowd he spoke to, just to make people happy. But I think it pretty much ROCKS that he became the first black man in American history to become president. WOOT for shaking up the status quo! And WOOT, my cousin's husband can come home from Iraq soon.

I'm not a fan of Obama mostly because he had said several times he wasn't proud of his country. And several other things. I don't want to debate/argue/ or anything else about it though. Congrats to y'all that were routing for him.

I like finally feeling proud. Of course, we'll have to wait and see what happens for the next four years. People could be wrong, people could be right.

Yeah! He did it!

One cannot blame Obama for not being proud in some senses; the US was falling down. If he keeps his promises, he will make it a country to be proud of.
I'm so happy he won . I don't know what I would have done if a woman who couldn't answer what a VP does was VP.
The best part of it was his acceptance speech. It was extremely touching =D

I can honestly say now that I'm proud to be an American. I'm so excited to see where Obama takes us! He reminds me a lot of Kennedy, and that dude took us to the moon.

I just can't believe that Americans voted for a guy who hasn't done anything significant and who's associations are questionable. Even if he wasn't (half) African American, this sort of candidate would never have won before the Vietnam War, when we still had mostly traditional principles. I'm not saying that he's a socialist (although I know people who think he is--and they grew up in socialist countries, too)...but I seriously question Obama's ability to lead this country. After all, he hasn't proven it. If McCain would have run a better campaign, and if Americans weren't stupid enough to blame everything on Republicans (Democrats are the Congress majority anyway), then I think he could have won.

I'm just glad this mayhem of almost two years is *finally* over!

Although I did noticed something funny: Isn't Inauguration Day Jan. 19? Well for anyone who knows who he is, Gaara's (from Naruto) birthday is that same day...Isn't that a bit ironic? XP I just thought it was sorta funny. ^^'

My two issues with this guy:
1) He refused to pledge the American flag.
2) He calls us all ignorant if we don't learn Spanish.

I won't even go into detail. It won't be pretty.

There's a difference between loving the government and loving its people, Monki. ^_^ Plus, it's your job as a conscientious objector to respect the government, but freely critique its policies. However, criticism should be based on truth.

Wowza! I agree with Sam. I hate many politicians, often stomp and rage about the American government - but I am a DARN good American citizen, I vote, I do community service, and I'm going to be a teacher. I love America as a nation, and the American people, but I do not always love the American government.

Is that so wrong?

I had tears in my eyes when he gave his acceptance speech.

Barack, even before becoming President, had already inspired so many Americans to care and to hope. Just knowing that after all these years, all these white, wealthy presidents... ahhhhh. Obama epitomizes the American dream. Born to a poor white mother and an African father he met once in his life, this man slowly climbed his way to Harvard, to the Senate, to the Presidency. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Such a profound difference between this man and Bush.

Monki ->> There are several issues I have with Barack Obama (as I did with John McCain and do with George Bush and almost any politician). However, I like what Sarah Palin said: "I know Obama loves America. I'm sure that is why he's running for president. It's because he wants to do what he believes is in the best interest of this great nation. . . . I don't question at all Barack Obama's love for this great country."
