Greetings, Panem! Welcome to the first annual YWS Hunger Games. I am here to announce your tributes.
District One, your tributes are-
@Pompadour, @TimmyJake, @Piper, and @defyingravity01.
District Two,
@JamesHunt, @Storybraniac, @Wolfare1, and @dragonfphoenix.
District Three,
@Strange, @Buggiedude2340, @verymaryanna, and @ongoeslife.
District Four,
@retrodisco666, @Blackwood, @BiscuitsBatchAvoy, and @ShadowVyper.

Let's all give a big round of applause and then sit back and enjoy the show! May the odds be ever in your favor, tributes!

And now it's time for what you've all been waiting for...The blood bath's challenge will be: *drum roll*

Write a short story about what you would grab from the cornucopia and why.

You will be given a list of 5 possible options to use as a weapon or a way to further yourself in the Hunger Games. You must write a short story, (minimum of 500 words) about how this weapon or tool will further you in the game, or lead you to winning. You have to specify how you will use the item. Submit your finished work in a link for a work posted to this topic or in a spoiler.

The Weapons/Tools-

1) One wish from a food genie. (a genie that only provides food.)
2) A pep talk from your favorite celebrity.
3) A foot-long rope.
4) An invisibility cloak that only works at night.
5) A dog that can sniff poison.

Good luck! And may the odds be ever in your favor.

From the time of this post, all the tributes have until 5 p.m. EST on June 2nd to post their edited and finished challenge. Any tribute that misses the deadline will be forfeited from the game. The scores of the Blood Bath will be released at 8 p.m. EST on June the 2nd.

Don't forget to check out the Calendar of events for the districts!

So is this only for the tributes listed above?

@thegirlwhowrites

the challenge yes! But feel free to write your own anyway! You could even wait for later in the week when the districts have their Hunger Games Fanfiction competition! :)

Writing all that information into a short story will be difficult. I thought it would be an essay at first.

Will we post these shorts in the actual literature area, or on here?

Is it okay to post it on my district's wall or forum to get editing suggestions?

Because Indie unfortunately had to drop out, I'd like to extend the offer to @Wolfare1 to be a replacement tribute for District Two.

So, do we only choose one item or the ones that will help us?
Also, what genre can it be?

Two questions:
Can we grab something other than the stuff provided from the cornucopia? (Within reason.)
And, do we have to take the item we chose from the cornucopia? Like get it through a sponsorship, take it off someone's dead body, or find it somewhere?

@Strange, just one item please. And any genre you wish.
@Wolfare1, no other stuff, pleaseeee. I just think it'll be easier that way. And it must be out of the cornucopia.

Okay once again we've had someone decline from their roles as tribute. Once again, they're from District Two. (Bad luck, 'eh?) But anyway, it's my pleasure to announce that @Storybraniac will be joining us as a tribute. Let's all give a big round of applause!

We don't have any information on the map, so we have no idea what our environment is. I think we have been deprived some information here. I'm not about to pick a genie if we are in candy land. And I'm not going to pick a rope if there's nothing to tie onto. And I'm not going to pick a dog if there are savage dog-eating cats inhabiting the area.
Hahah....haha.....ahahaha.
