Did you find an artist on bandcamp/youtube/soundcloud that deserves more attention? Do you make music and are looking to promote your work? Well, feel free to post a song here. The only requirements are:
1) Post the artist and the song name.
2) Name the genre [in brackets]
3) Please, nothing with over 2,000,000 hits on youtube/500,000 listeners on Last.fm. This is a thread for at least somewhat semi-obscure artists.
So, I'll start with a few tracks tracks:
1) Lucasle - Banos. [Ambient/Electronic]. Found this guy on a 4chan sharethread. Anybody who's a fan of artists like Tycho should check this out.
2)Social Circkle - What's So Great? [Hardcore Punk].
3)The World/Inferno Friendship Society - Brother of the Mayor of Bridgewater[Gypsy/Cabaret Punk]. Imagine if the Cirque du Soleil decided to get a punk band to write all their songs.
4)Kill Lincoln - Clark Gable [Ska-Punk]. Ska isn't dead, and these guys help prove it by adding a heavier sound to the usual ska-punk formula.
5)Man Man - Knuckle Down [Experimental ???] I have no idea how to describe this. The closest thing I can think of is Indie-Pop, although I don't know if it is an apt. description.
6)The Coup [Rap] This was the first song I heard when I started getting into rap music, and it remains one of my favorite songs. Warning, some vulgar language can be found in the song.
7)Animal Collective - Brother Sport [Psychadelic pop] What if the Beach Boys pulled a Radiohead, and ditched their guitars for synths and samples?
8 )St. Vincent - Digital Witness [Experimental pop] More weird indie-pop music.
