It's NaPoWriMo! (National Poetry Writing Month)
And a lot writing/literature related websites are celebrating in various ways!

I ran across this quiz as I was looking for something totally unrelated. I was rather proud of my results. Go ahead and test your knowledge of how well you know your poets/poetry, and let us know how you did!

The quiz: http://www.csmonitor.com/Books/2014/040 ... oem/Poem-1

(My results...granted I guessed on a number: http://www.csmonitor.com/Books/2014/040 ... oetry-quiz

*edit: Apparently posting my results didn't work. But I did get 72%! Apparently the average score is 54%. I'm really not trying to brag...I'm mostly proud of my guessing skills.

Wow. 50%. I epic fail.

On the bright side, I got to read some beautiful poetry.

Erm, 66%. Not so bad considering I read some of those in a whole different language, eh? I like the originals better. Although I must say our translators do way better job with poetry than prose xP

XD That was fun! I dunno if I can really brag though, because I got a degree in English and I *still* felt like a lot of those were like, who even are you?

So it helps to figure it out by process of elimination XD At the beginning I was like, this poet is using the pronoun "his", and all the other choices are women, let's go with Ted Kooser. And all the archaic ideas with the "thou art" language etc. etc. you're definitely a man from super early century, so you've gotta be Donne or Milton. And also each poet is only used once! :D So if you keep track of who was already listed, then it only gets easier as you go on ^_^
