It's no secret there's some amazing writers on YWS. As in, unbelievably spectacular writers who also happen to be awesome people and super nice (I swear you all are too perfect to be real)! Which is why I've decided we need to start having Writers of the Week*.
A Writer of the Week is someone that's a popular writer on this site. Whoever has the most votes on this thread and has pieces that get a lot of Likes/good reviews will be selected, interviewed and get a mention on this thread and a shoutout on the Writer's Club (found here: clubs/1819).
If you want to nominate someone, the only criteria they must fit is that YOU personally find them to be talented. Which means they don't have to have flawless works of literature (everyone makes mistakes!), but rather story lines and characters/emotion and rhythm you find compelling.
Additionally, they can be the author of any kind of literary work—poetry writers, prose writers, or non-fiction and essay authors. Anything! Just as long as their work touched you for some reason or other and you think they are insanely talented. (I know—it's going to be tough to choose!)
And yes, you can nominate yourself.
Sign off below with the name of your personal favorite YWS writer in order to nominate them for Writer of the Week!
*Note: Writer of the Week is not a contest, and if it was, it would not be a popularity contest. In other words, Writer of the Week should be looked at as something similar to featured member. It's a serious honor, and nominating someone just because you're friends with them, while nice, isn't what this is about. Also, since it's not a contest, it's also not a sweepstakes or "enter to win" type deal. Nominating someone means you're choosing a person you think is a good writer, not throwing their name into the ring for kicks. Please remember that! And don't be afraid to ask questions, if you have any!
