"Often, the best way to improve is swallowing your ego and realizing you're a terrible writer in all aspects of writing, then working to improve it." -R.U.
@lostthought, yep, @Vincente's my real-life boyfriend (as in, outside of the wild and crazy YWS world). XD
Okay, y'all, I've been procrastinating from telling you this because I didn't want to seem like a jerk, BUT you actually cannot vote for me for Writer of the Week. Well, technically, you can vote for me, but I won't win even if I have the most votes. Simply because I'm doing a Squills article about this and will be interviewing the actual Writer of the Week, and I can't exactly interview myself, now can I?
You can either retract your votes for me and instead vote for someone viable, who can actually win, or you can leave it as is. But either way, I'm going to take myself off the scoreboard now so that I don't encourage others out there to also vote for me.
Oh, and one last thing—even though I can't be Writer of the Week, I'm thrilled and incredibly flattered to have gotten any votes at all! This is a huge honor to be nominated, it really is, as cliché as that may sound. Thanks to everyone that voted and I'm so sorry your extremely nice votes will have to go to waste! (Well, unless you retract them and vote for someone else, which you definitely can!)
I vote for @yubbies21. I loved some of her short stories and I had a lot of fun with her as she welcomed me when I did my first review day. She's very helpful and a great member to this community.
I'd just like to remind everyone to please only nominate people based on their writing skills. And by that I mean, do not nominate someone because they're a good reviewer, because they're active in the forums, or even because they're nice or your friend.
These are all great things and I'm happy that you've taken notice of these traits in the YWS members around you, but please keep in mind this is only for writing and to base your voting choices off the literary works you've seen. Otherwise, it wouldn't really be fair to the other nominees that have gotten this honor because people loved their actual writing.
Still too close to call, but things are heating up! It's currently a tie for lead between @SecreteJournalist and @thomasmkraus, with all other nominees trailing just one vote behind. *bites nails tensely whilst staring at computer screen with eager expression*
