I won't put much faith in it since it's so... odd that it jumped so quickly, so I'm thinking it's an anomaly. Or maybe not... I don't know...

Some probably read my post about YWS being in the top 250,000. I then hoped that YWS could reach the top 100,000 by this time next year. Shouldn't be hard I thought.

It was easier than I imagined...


YWS is now in the top 60,000!


Checked the Alexa rankings just a minute ago. The one week average is 149,443, meaning that only 149,442 sites are more popular than YWS.

But then there's the one day average. On that, YWS is number 58,040!!!! That's absolutely insane!

I have no clue how this happened, but I'm happy!!!

I've been waiting for Alexa to update for five days now, and it finally has. Unfortunately, it does appear to have been an anomaly as I feared. However, the one week average is still in the top 100,000 at around 92,000, which suggest that while the 58,040 score was an anomaly, the being in the top 100,000 was not.

It looks like what's causing the extremely jumpy numbers is because of the way the rank is calculated. YWS' reach per one million internet users is still low. However, the number of page views per user is huge. That results in a ranking that is vastly out of proportion to how many people visit the site. That's a good thing though as it shows that visitors to YWS are extremely active, which is great.

And to demonstrate how sporadic the numbers for YWS are, here's a link at the traffic rank data:
