And, um, grammar's important so people can understand what you're saying. e. e. cummings may have broken a lot of the rules, but he did it with artistic purpose. Plus he was famous.
But seriously. If you send a publisher a manuscript full of poor grammar, you're gonna get shut down pretty quick.

If I wanted to mold something, then I would be pounding away at clay... Or throwing it on the wheel.
I think you have two different arts mixed up there. Clay is meant to sculpt and mold. Grammar and spelling is meant to keep the writer from being torched alive by their publisher.
