I agree with some of the things, but not all of them. Personally, I've gotten the best advice from someone that completely tore my story apart. Just as long as you don't completely bash on them and you always find at least one nice thing to say I think it's okay to tell them ALL their story's faults. You have to go through the harsh reviews to get better. Now there's a fine line between reviewing honestly and being mean, but I'm not agreeing with "soften it up."
