Hey :)
So I'm Alex, I love writing and have always loved it :) I haven't been writing much for the past four years, because I was busy escaping the greatest torture machine ever invented (school), but this year I basically inherited a 1915 underwood typewriter from my mom and I fell inlove again.

So here I am!

I write mostly short stories, generally the main character is a girl. I do also write longer things, but I just word-vomit them out so they're not exactly posting material.

*what else should I say*

*self promotes*

Well I've started a couple of blogs on which I'm busy posting my stories, so if you like my stuff you can find more on wordpress, blogger, and sett.

*ends utterly shameless self promotion*

Anyway so hi! So far everyone seems very friendly, which rocks. I'm very exited to meet the rest of the community.

If anyone has any tips do give!

Hi Alex, welcome to YWS! I'm Sapi.  I'm sure you'll love it here: we have lots of forums, an absolutely awesome newsletter, fun role-play storybooks, and a club for everything.

On a more random note, that's awesome that you inherited a typewriter! I've always wanted one. xD

Again, welcome! If you have any questions, feel free to PM me anytime. :D

Hey Alex, welcome to YWS!

Typewriters are beautiful things. My keyboard is designed to sound like a typewriter, it's like music every time I type.

You should post up your word vomit stuff as well. I prefer reading things that are raw and unedited, rather than the tidy stuff. It has more character.

Tips for YWS...
Stop by the welcome mat. Make note of the green members, they're your super-friendly neighbourhood mods. I specialise in the resources forums (click the 'forums' tab and check out the big chunk in the middle.) which are really cool. If you want to discuss writing in general, get/give some tips or get plot help or anything of the likes, head over in that direction. The more you review, the more reviews you will get. Being nice and making lots of friends gets you gifts.

Most importantly: be bold. YWS has a lot going on especially around Christmas time, so there's plenty to explore and join in with. Find something you like and jump straight in =D
We were born to be amazing.

You walk into this room at your own risk, because it leads to the future, not a future that will be but one that might be. This is not a new world, it is simply an extension of what began in the old one. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advances, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace.
