This FAQ is for those who wish to create a contest.

Who may create a contest?

Any user with more than 25 posts can create a contest. Other than that, there are no further restrictions on who may create a contest.

How do I create a contest?

To create a contest, merely add a new topic to the "Contests" forum. When creating the topic, be sure to include the focus of the contest, qualifications for the contest, who may enter the contest, and what the winner of the contest will win.

However, the contest must be appropiate for all ages! That is, it cannot contain crude language nor can it concern adult situations.

What kind of prizes can I give out?

Firstly, special awards cannot be given out by anybody besides the site admin so please do not ask Nate to create a special award. Otherwise, it's completely up to you. The prize could be a special logo for the person, a personally design web page, or something simple like a promise to review two works published by the winner on YWS. You can also give out points for contests, although those points come out of your account.

What do I do once the contest is over?

First, of course, you give the prize to the winner. After that, post a message about who won and why. Then contact Nate about the results, and he will lock the contest so that no further posts can be made in that thread.

If you have any further questions, pm Nate.
