... Here is what I want:

--I want a poem that is so full of emotions, so UN-cliche (or as minorly cliche as can be) that will make me re-read it over and over again.
--I want a poem to make me burst out and print it and tape it to my wall and call a treasure.
--I want a poem, written by some of the greatest poets, who I hope will participate in, that will make me have the ultimate cry.

The topic is entirely up to you, but thanks to a recent poem I read, which made me cry because it was one of those things you want to rip your eyes out as well as your other senses....

I will give people 6 months to write said poem (Somebody remind me), it's not to be taken lightly.
Want to know why?

10,000 points.

Get started, post entries here, post them in the sections, warn me about them, PM them to me but not EMAIL.

Also, it would be generous if people could give bits and bits of their points (around 10-50) to add to the giant 10 grand of points.
You learn in life that being the most in points, in posts, being the best at poetry or prose, isn't life.

It's the good cry I want.
And I want a good cry.

You have six months.
April 12, 2006 - September 12.

---If you ask WHY 6 months, it's because of the inspiration you'll need to impress my eyes. Aside from that I'm preparing for High School, going to summer school, work, volunteer work, and Hawaii in the summer and probably won't have enough time to read until school starts, when the computer is my own.

If I decide to cut it short I will warn people. I would like a list of people HERE who would like to enter.

Rules:
--The topic, it's a basic free-for-all but if I get one too many suicide poems I might hurt somebody.
--Say if you'll enter, give ideas of the top 3 poems that you can expect me to read (though you only send me 1)
--And from there we shall work.
--Any questions can be PM'd to me or onto the page.
--Not so cliche poems (If you can help it)
-- I will not help anybody with their poems, so don't ask. And don't trick me. Like don't ask me for poem help and then suddenly sign-up and enter. No matter how much I like it, you're out.
-- New poems. Nothing old or on the site, nothing that I have to ask Nate or anybody else if this poem exists on the site, because that's unfair, you've already gotten help from it from others in the past and probably have more talent now and can add to that. So don't post... old poems.
-- Poems must have proper punctuation (if you think you need any), spelling, if there are other languages used, I'd like, at the end, to know what the words mean. The poem will be judged mainly on content, but these things help too.
-- Have fun.

Any clarifications needed on any rules can be PM'd to me.

I might not be the best judge so if I have questions on poems themselves... I might bring up a poem to my teacher. Otherwise it's other members I'll ask. Usually the ones entering anyway.

And thus the Ultimate Cry begins.
Good luck to all.

OMG! I want to enter but I'll probably lose!

But seriously though, I am entering and will try my best.

some topics:

Uhhh.....maybe about love? or some kind of heartache or death of a loved one?

Also, I might write about suicide(JOKING!)

Actually, about losing your house, like moving.

Ummm....I don't know if these topics are really good, but I think the last thing I will write about is about feeling like your an outcast or like about an orphan who finally finds someone to love him/her.

hope that interests you Very Happy

-Tony

Hey...might as well. ^_^

...though I'm not the cry-your-eyes-out poetic sort; I suppose it could be a challenge.

By the way - why would you want a poem that makes you cry, TBR?

Crying doesn't have to be of despair. It can be of beauty. I know that I tear up when I read beautiful poetry.

I guess she wants to see some really awesome poetry around. Smile

Yes...I didn't think of that - the "Ultimate Cry" threw me off - sounded dejected. But yes, I can imagine wanting something beautiful, and tears sometimes come with beauty or joy.

That's interesting anyhow - not tragic, but poignant, plaintive perhaps. Thanks for noting it Snoink. It's given me a cartload of ideas poetically. Very Happy
