:) Pleasent Pics.

For touristy quality, these are good, if you just want them as momentos of your trip + garden :)

But, for publishing quality, they aren't THAT great >_< ...sorry :smt083

Some are blurry, some are unfocused, some are blocked by unneccersairy objects. Try to focus more on the object of your viewpoint, than just a landscape shot... these are only good for when you want to just take a picture for memorial quality.

Yet, i do like the picture of the rose your mother grew. It's nice and crisp, and the angle is just right.

Good Job. Keep on taking photos and try to FOCUS when taking photographs! :P

The rose photo is simply stunning. I love it so much I want to take it and put it on the cover of my novel (which, of course, I won't).

All the others, I agree with the above that the pictures are a bit touristy. They're not very professional looking. If I knew about photography, I would tell you what's wrong with them, but I can't. Try editing your pictures with color, it might add a nice touch to them and make them stand out more.

Keep... photographing?

Hi Golden(if I may call you that)

I liked your try at the photography but it shows that you are a newbie into this so here goes the reviews:

1st Picture: I didn't like ti at all. Though I liked the fact that you took too mny petal s but that seemed totally useless. there was nothing more attractive about this one.

2nd Picture: That was something. I really liked it. Loved it actually! The dew on the rose seems to be enchanting me. The colour, distance from the flower, angle all are pretty.

Loved your fifth picture but then sixth one was not good. I didn't like it personally. Sorry.

Way to go!!!!!

Hi there, GoldenQuill! I'm not experienced in photography, but I would like to give you a review. :]

1) I like this, particularly. It has some sort of abstract-y feel to it, plus the shade and the soft colour is really nice and not sore to the eyes. Way to go.

2) I would like to disagree with the people above; I disliked this the most. Although the rose is beautiful, the background really puts me off. Maybe you should try editing those leaves out or blurring them using Photoshop, to give emphasis on the rose and also give the picture a hazy, mysterious zing to it. Trust me, try it. You'll be happy with the result. :]

3) Now this is what I loved the most. Beautiful clouds, wide vast foliage of cypresses, snow... sigh. I wish I could go out there and see all of those personally...

4) This I also like, but I think it would have been better if you angled the picture more towards the trees. The big space of white the snow took up is a bit distracting.

5) I don't particularly dislike this, but I think it could have been better. It's a little blurred and off-focused. Your hands were probably shaking because of the cold. :3

6) I have never seen snow before, let alone experience it, but it here it seems so beautiful. They look like fireflies to me, actually... XD

7) This is also very nice. Sled dogs. :] The scenery is so beautiful.

8) You're right, this could have been well enough without those tracks... and you should have focused on the dogs more. ;]

9) It could have been nice, but what are those things of the mist in the sunlight? :P

10) Beautiful air shot. The wing of the plane and that small part of the window really gives it that "I'm going back home" feel, if you get what I mean. I can't really express it in coherent words, but that pretty much sums it up.

So there. I really liked this compilation, all in all. Keep up the good work! :D

hey there!
I really salute you for your wonderful talent in Photography and it's nice how you took picturesque places which includes nature, of course! but as you know there are some pics that is really not good, that needs to correct your mistakes. and I'm just here to comment some pictures which I like and don't.

1st picture: I don't really like how you pictured those flowers, like you just simply took them for nothing. :( and it's kind of blurry. there's no focal statement to it.
2nd Picture: I really like it. :o I like how you focus that pink flower with those tiny rain droplets still on that flower.
3rd Picture: I loved it!
5th picture: Like the first photo, there's no focal to it and blurry!
8th picture: Didn't really like how you pictured the dogs.

as for the other photos, of course I loved it! Keep it up!

Peace out! :elephant:

Hey GoldenQuill! (You reviewed my first ever piece of writing on YWS!)
I really liked these...alot!

1. Some parts are kind of blurry, but it looks decent
2. I love how there are little water-drops on the petals, it looks so professional!
3. It looks magical, the trees aren't blurry, and the clouds look great.
4. I like this one too, it looks kind of slanted, (I've never seen a place like that)
5. Apart from the burryness, it looks quite cool.
6. They do look like firefiles, it's really good.
7. Those snow dogs are so cool
8. (as above!) But I think you were right, the tracks are a bit distracting.
9. It's almost as if it's smudged in some areas, but it's fine, (it's actually one of my favourites!)
10. How do take photo's like these, it looks fantastic.
Ok, my favourite one no.2
Well done, and keep it up!
~Tamara

Wow! You definately have an eye for this - do I hear the next Sachiko coming? Either way, please keep photographing! But do avoid large spaces of one colour, like in the small-valley-with-snow-in-it pic, unless it's there for a reason and/or there's an equal space somewhere to even it out. Anyway, good luck! *pat on the back, like*

1.) Pretty good! Lovely flowers. I though it'd be better if there was brighter light, but I know you can't do anything about that. So...good job!

2.) Absolutely gorgeous! I'm a sucker for flowers, plants, etc. with water droplets on them, so I might be a bit partial. But gorgeous anyways!

3.) I loved this one. Nature photography is, by far, my favorite and I thought this was a great shot.

4.) This one was lovely. I like the way the snowbanks sort of look like the beginnings of a heart.

5.) Number five was a bit blurry, I think. It wasn't my favorite, but a good picture.

6.) This was definitely one of my favorites of the bunch. I like the snowflakes on the lens.

7.) Love, love, love it. I may be a bit partial as Huskies are my absolute favorite dogs, but regardless, it was a lovely shot. Looking up to the task ahead, they are! (Also, if those are Alaskan Malamutes and not Huskies, I apologize.)

8.) I think this might be my favorite. Gorgeous dogs. It's so cute the way they're leaning on each other and looking down the road together!

9.) This one was gorgeous as well. It sort of reminded me of a book or brochure cover.

10.) Last, but certainly not least, this shot was probably my second favorite. I love the way you can see every tree and the snow, but still capturing that plane wing in there. Nice one!

Keep taking pictures; I'd love to see them!

Postby dizzymisslizzy10 on Mon Jul 26, 2010 11:10 pm

Hey, I'm Lizzy and I am a photographer. I hope my comments don't come across as too harsh (just trying to help you become a better photographer). I'm a little picky about perfection. OCD as I have been called. ;)

1.) Too many petals close up does not make for a good picture.
2.) This rose is absolutely lovely but would definitely be amazing if the focus was better. I also agree with the person above me saying that the leaves distract from the rose and you should photoshop. Believe me, photoshop will be your best friend. ;)
3.) I enjoy this one very much but personally, I think it would look better cropped a bit on the bottom. It gives off the feeling of negative space and although you can see trees AND snow, it still is negative space. NEGATIVE SPACE = NOT GOOD.
4.) The same as number 3. ;) CUT OFF A BIT OF THE BOTTOM!
5.) Very nice but the focus isn't very good.
6.) This could be a good picture if it was snowing harder, but due to the fact it wasn't, the photo has too much negative space.
7.) LOVE IT! But if I were to take the picture, the angle would come from above a bit more. AKA raise your camera higher! :)
8.) LOVE IT! But it seems either a bit out of focus or your lens was fogged up.
9.) I LOVE IT! but i think you have a little melted snow on your lens. Other than that, it's a wonderful picture!
10.) I love it yet the plane window was a little dirty, but there is nothing you can do about that.

Thanks for your time and I hope your photography will improve from my comments.
Lizzy :)

Hi GoldenQuill, CaptianRandom here,
These photos were fantastic, the snow, the snow dogs, the mountains, they were very well taken, your positioning, and the landscape. Great photos and keep up the good work. I hope to view more of your work.
