i suggest more layouts for blogs and to be able to put backgrounds and stuff to your profile. Maybe use codes for blogs a little bit more like myspace profile. I think it will make blogs and profiles more useful and people can express themselves more. Also a good layout and design may help make a certian blog more popular.. speaking of which......check out my blog!

Nate,

I joined The Writers Forum a while back. I found that you absolutely must critique 2 things before you post 1 story/poem. If you try to post something without doing 2 critiques, it will not allow you to.

Take, for instance, I haven't reviewed in a while. Me. Not some new person.

I try to post something, but it won't let me, because I need to review two more things before I can post. You get my drift?

I think that would be effective.

-Jared

I don't mean to be bugging you here, Nate, but I was looking at your FAQ for New Members and realized that you didn't mention all the ranks. You left out Master of the Forum, Epic Novelist, and Writer of Legend. Sorry, just had to point that out. Smile

I have a suggestion. I hate it when all our points are reset. It's like all the work you put into it is just gone. So, I think that we should have two types of points. How many points you've made since the last reset, and how many points you've made in all. There coul dbe two seperate contests for it as well, but that's not as important to me as the first one.

LOVE KISS

Well, would you be able to make it so that it also shows anniversaries? I mean the anniversary of then they came to YWS Very Happy That days has to be at least as important as their birthday! Razz

Throwin' off my groove, man! Why can't we put more than one space between words in a literary item? It's like any formatting other than what the forum wants you to have is forbidden.

Just wondering if there was a way to turn off the automatic formatting, or what.

Adna ->> Haha, maybe! I like the idea.

Prok ->> lol, sorry about that. Unfortunately, any formatting decision made site-wide is going to have pluses and minuses. The new YWS, though, will allow you to choose the type of formatting you want.

Quick question: Is there actually a set date that you have, Nate, for us to expect the new YWS? I *really* can't wait! Eek! *squeals*

Thanks Monki Razz

The target date is February 28, and there's a 99% chance it'll be earlier than that. By January, I expect to have it mostly done, and I'm going to start beta trials at that time. The mods already have access, so the next group to have access will be the JMs in early January. After that, Instructors then Greeters shortly thereafter. It will then go into an open beta phase where anyone can access the site. If everything is running fine, then YWS will be shut down for a week so I can transfer the database over.

So the earliest date is probably sometime around February 1, but everyone will have the opportunity to begin playing with it earlier than that.
