I've found Writer's Block is just when your brain gets tired of too much writing! It pays to take a break from it for a while. It's like trying to force yourself to do something when you really don't want too. Just leave it for a while. Read other stories, rate other people's stories, watch a film etc

Or drink holy water!

In the words of Moe - "What's your secret? It's holy water isn't it? I knew it!" *throws bowl of holy water on face* "Ahh it burns! It burns!"

I think it's gone now *peers around nerveously* I tried to keep away from my story for a while, and the place I write too, then I looked back over a piece I had done and fixed up a few things... And I think it worked.

Oh I remember that one! Very Happy

Homer puts hand under couch and finds a twenty dollar note "oh, I was hoping for a peanut!"
Homer's Brain: "but you can buy lots of peanuts with twenty dollars"
Homer: "explain"

Ah...Why do I write? I suppose because I 'have' to. Half the time I find myself hating writing. But writing is a part of me, I need it to survive. I could go on without it but I would still crave it far too much. And if I don't write often then I won't improve. And if I can't write well then I won't be able to write what's in my mind and that disgusts me so much it sends me into depression. Therefore I must write because I have something I need to say, and I must write often so that I will be able to say it the way I feel it.

i write because the thought of creating imaginary worlds and people, plots and storylines etc... makes me smile and i enjoy it to be honest.
i've been writing since primary school and havnt stopped since although sometimes i do take monthly breaks to draw away from the work and then come back to it, time away from the work helps if you have writers block by the way.
actually when i was young, i never knew that when you get your work published you get money for it, all i wanted was for people to read my work and enjoy like how i enjoy writing it. it's always been a dream to see my book on a shlef with MY title and MY name on it Smile
i mainly enjoy writng because there are no rules, the only rules are the ones you make yourself.

I do it because it's who I am. Stories are what I do. Even when I'm not writing, I tell stories. When people ask me qestions, or I want to share my thoughts about something, I often do it in the form of a story. I just love stories in every format that exists.

I do the same exact thing. But I also write because it helps me get the characters that live in my head out into the world. I also write to get my emotions out of my head.

Oh, that is so true. Getting your feelings out through writing is one of the greatest forms of therapy. Anyone ever try something I call rage writing? It's the best. One day, when you're really pissed or upset about something, just take a pen and let it do the talking.

I write because that's a way of expressing myself. I'm able to voice out everything I want to say thru writing. And that gives me a sense of freedom.

I guess we can bump this? Razz

Anyhow, I write because I find purpose. I enjoy it so much that solely, it's all I want to do. I dread the day I put my pen down--I want to be someone, and perhaps writing is my way to do that.

And everything's possible!
