Some of my favorites right now inlcude:
Boys Night Out - Trainwreck
Elliot - False Cathedrals
Augustana - All The Stars And Boulevards
American Football - American Football
Mineral - EndSerenading
Straylight Run - Prepare To Be Wrong
If you don't know any of those bands I really suggest you check them out. Mostly slower rock with piano and strings, it all inspires me... |

My favourite albums are:
Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning/Fevers And Mirrors - can't decide which I prefer! Brilliant lyricist
The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow - Amazing indie-pop-rock, great lyrics again
Muse - Absolution - best album of the british rock band
The Postal Service - Give Up - beautiful electro-indie
Cursive - The Ugly Organ - melodic and heavy and has a cello! Also great lyrics
Onelinedrawing - The Volunteers - a heart-breaking voice and beatuful songs
Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies - Hurrah! Another Year, Surely This One Will Be Better Than The Last; The Inexorable March Of Progress Will Lead Us All To Happiness - Prog/post/whatever rock, just amazing sounds
Sufjan Stevens - Illinois (or Come On! Feel The Illinoise!) - This guy writes the most amazing melodies, and has an effortlessly beautiful voice.
Saul Williams - Saul Williams - pretty much the only hip hop I like, but this guy is amazing. He's a slam poet, and his words and rhymes are perfect
The Arcade Fire - Funeral - wonderful, epic indie rock
So, just my two cents! All amazing, believe me. How many times did I use that word?! |
