First, please see this thread about creating or joining a team:
http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/topic34024.html
Also note that joining a team is not necessary! Any potential team, though, must have at least five members.
Rules for teams:
1. Collaboration is allowed, but remember you're also still competing against one another.
2. Membership must be open. If your team is "Team America," then you have to allow even those pesky Canadians in! Actually... technically, America refers to all countries in North & South America!
3. Rivalry is fun, but lets keep it fun.
Creating a team:
1. Collaborate amongst one another to choose a team leader.
2. Have that team leader contact me with the group name and members. If a new member is added, then you must contact me asap.
3. HOWEVER, if you choose to create a YWS group for your team, then only the team name is needed. I can check membership through the group control panel.
4. A team can be anything: Team F.R.E.D., Team America, Team Brits, Team Team.
Joining a team:
1. You can only join one team.
2. To join a team, either contact the team leader, or just go to the team's YWS group and hit join group.
3. If you're going to join a team, you must do so by August 10th.
Are teams good for anything?
Yes and no. No because you're still competing against one another. Yes because at the end of the competition, I'll take a look at which team has the most medals (gold equals 3 points, silver 2 points, and bronze one point). The scores will also be weighted for team size, so there's no benefit (or detriment) to having a large team. |

Teams and Team Contacts:
If you have a team, please have the group leader PM me with the name of the team and a person for members to contact. The contact person and the group leader need not be the same person. This must be done ASAP.
Team SPEW - Snoink
Note, SPEW has an exception to the must allow anyone rule. However, their overall score will be adjusted more than most to make up for this.
Team The - Bella
Team Brits - Matt Bellamy
Team America - Gladius |
