|
|
In honor of the Olympics, YWS will be holding its own version: The Writing Olympics! Every day from August 8 to 18, a new challenge will be posted. One challenge may have you writing a story with no e's, while another challenge may have you looking for a monkey. A gold medal, a silver medal, and a bronze medal will be awarded to the best three entries each day.
Those who receive a gold medal will receive their choice of a YWS magnet, bumper sticker, or a 3" sticker. Silver medal winners will get their choice of a bumper sticker or sticker. Bronze medal winners will get a sticker. All awards will be given after the Olympics are over, but you may receive only one award at most.
However, whoever receives the most points will receive a YWS keepsake box (worth $25). You get 3 points for a gold medal, 2 points for a silver, and 1 point for a bronze. By the way, it is definitely possible that someone may have nothing but bronze and silver medals, yet come out on top.
Plus all awards will be available on a limited basis only! That means, they will not be available for sale ever. The logos on the awards will be specially designed for the YWS Writing Olympics. |

Sounds like fun.Seems like a good way to combat the summer lack of writing. |

School starts the 18th, so I can make most of it. Hard competition for the computer, though. I might even make the last one, I don't leave for school until 8:30.
Sounds fun, though like Meep said, Please don't have the one with no e's. I can hardly think of a story, let alone one without e's
I have a suggestion. What if we have to type a story with our nose, and can only hit backspace a certain amount of times. That would be fun! I got the idea from YoYO, who said we could play Simon Says in the chat room.
