[my friend pitched me this idea- i wrote the song and then found out there's a band from manchester called the stone roses.. still, i loved the idea so i'm posting it. enjoy, and please comment!]
The Stone Rose
I built a wall from the cruelty I face every day
Hid my emotions inside the cold hard tomb
Took my body and soul into hiding and
Watched as something grew
A brick wall is the symbol of my hopes and dreams
This life is not what I chose
I feel nothing- I’m numb inside
I am the Stone Rose
Chorus
I’m meant to be perfect like the others
But close-up you can see
I’m full of imperfections
I’m not what you want me to be
Everything’s been said and done
And everybody knows
You let me grow and blossom into
The icy-black Stone Rose
My wall is crumbling- the foundations are made from you
They’re two-faced, they’re liars; they’re weak
The pieces lye scattered, my emotions left bared to the world
But still nobody listens- no-one lets me speak
Chorus x2
Petals made from ashes
A stem forged from regret
Leaves fashioned from broken promises
The Rose never forgets
Chorus
Yeah, I’m wilting fast
No going back
The icy-black Stone Rose |

| Ooh, I wish I could hear the tune! But the words are gorgeous. |
