My blood was frozen. I felt like time was in slow motion. I think that I dropped the phone. I might have whimpered. I don't quite know. Life was repeating itself.
You scared the hell out of us all that night. You suggested that we all left Ice's place and went down to the lake. It was 11:55. You weren't drinking, but you drove like a madman. Everything went wrong. You were over the speed limit by 35. We were screaming in the backseat. You swerved like a maniac at random times. You almost killed us.
"Jade! Oh God! Jade! What's wrong?
Ice's screams woke me from my lived nightmare. I never wanted to relive that night again.
"Oh my God Ice! He's going to kill me. He said that I might not come back from the party." I shrieked, jumping from Ice's laugh.
"Oh, get real Jade! He's...in...love...with...you!" She said in between laughter.
"Do you really think that he would kill his dream girl?" The tears were streaming down both of our faces. Mine weren't from laughing.
I had to pull it together. The more I thought about it, the more Ice was right. Relief surged through me.
"OK. Thanks Ice. Let's get ready for the party." I said, sounding more confident with every word. But his chilling words sounded so real. Chilling
We got to the lake without dying, no thanks to you. You wanted to go skinny dipping. We agreed. Stripping off our clothes, we got into the shining black pit of coldness. When me and Ice looked around, You and Rodney were gone. That's when the screaming started. I looked at Ice, and she wasn't screaming. I knew that I wasn't screaming. Something else was. And it was in the water with us.
