Either I'm getting better at this, or this is getting easier
Anyhow, I'm surprised that about half of all people have never learned sentence diagramming. It was basically all we did in fifth grade, and I hated it. They've gone through four teachers since I was in fifth grade, but the school I went to still teaches sentence diagramming very extensively in fifth grade.
Then you never hear about it ever again.
Maybe it's not taught that much in public schools? I went to a Catholic school back then, and Catholic schools pay a heavy emphasis to reading & English, while public schools put a heavier emphasis on math & science (partly for testing purposes, and partly because public schools can afford better materials). |

| Lol, I did that when I was a sixth-grader. I loathed it. Sentences are fine left-to-right, you don't need to screw them up by making them go in every conceivable direction. xD |

| Well, in 5th grade all my teacher cared about for L.A. was spelling, cursive, and vocabulary. She did nothing to prepare us to save our membership on a writing community. |

| We diagrammed all the way up to sophomore year of high school. I loved it because it was so math-like and simple - there were rules, so no one could tell me I only got a D because my thesis was foggy or something (as was the case with the majority of my essays in pre-AP). |

| Failure to complete the diagramming correctly should result in death. |

| Someone should diagram the entire Bible, or War and Peace, or all of Shakespeare works, or anything else that's really, really long. I'd buy it just for the novelty. |

I'm homeschooled, and I know diagramming (I hate it, too...), I just haven't done any like that one before. |

Do new users really have to diagram sentences? How many things can you actually do with a sentence?
Just put a period in the middle of that messed up thing that apparently only sheds "one idea." Actually, it does, but it's so long! And it's just an info-dump! Who wants to diagram an info-dump?
When it gets put up, I'm going to make a new account just to take it. And then I shall fail and be kicked off YWS (like everybody else). |

Nate, you're completely stressing me out! It isn't fair! I have both English papers of my Junior Cert tomorrow, and you're telling me this is a life skill that every child in the US knows?
What am I going to do?

I very vaguely remeber doing something along these lines in 4th grade... maybe.
Darn Texas cow-country public schools. They don't teach us anything. >.> |
