Who watched it last night? Or has done since?

I don't think any of the songs were as good as Ukraine's last year, although I did quite like Latvia's. And the UK entry has to be the best we've had for a long while.

Note to Non-Europeans, if you have a couple of hours to kill I've been told you guys can watch it over at www.eurovision.tv, although I couldn't get it to work >__>

*shivers*

I saw it, but the trouble is, it isn't about songs any more. If it were, we might have come around half away, but oh no, we came joint bottom. See the thing is, everyone votes for their neighbours.

It is completely political, which is why we don't stand a chance. Terry Wogan was funny though Smile

Not even Malta gave us any points!

It was awful. England didn't even get a chance. And worse Ireland didn't get to show off our turkey.

I never took much notice of the Eastern-Europe political aspect, or the results at all for that matter, as long as there are fun songs--that's all I care about.

And even if we don't get many votes, the UK is one of four that are always guarenteed a place and don't have to go through any semi-finals.

But like I said, as long as the songs are fun I don't mind.

Ye, lol.

I found Spain and France's songs appalling yet funny Smile

Yes, it is. They show it on SBS here, and some of my friends love it. I think they're weird. I watched a tiny bit and wanted to kill myself it was so bad.

Doctor Who is so much better.

Me, my uncle and my Dad successfully guessed about 90% of the voting patterns. It's a bit ridiculous. Missed the songs ... luckily.

Coming in last place has just stopped being funny, though. We had the best entry we've had in years (certainly better than Spain's!), and yet the UK still came last. It's become ridiculous that you can guess who's going to vote for who as long as you have a map in front of you. I don't suppose it'd be that annoying, if wasn't for the fact that we practically fund the thing (with Germany, France, and Spain), and yet we're always the countries who come in the last quarter as far as points are concerned. Guaranteed qualification is the least we deserve, to be honest.

It's only worth watching for Terry Wogan (yes, cliched comment, I know), and apparently he's considering quitting altogether, so there'll be no point in watching at all if he does.

We can't say the result wasn't predicted - we'll just buddy up with Germany at the bottom Very Happy Although, I do think Greece should have won - Russia's song was pretty boring.

Is it likely that we'll withdraw from the '09 competition? (Britain, I mean.)

One of the producers: Globalvision Song Contest! The UK and USA can start their own voting bloc! (Perhaps with Israel too...)
