The aim of this contest came up because after reading A Graphite Heart by scasha, I showed most people. Now Andy then claimed it was easy, so I decided to set a ultimantium for him to write a story personifying an object. I eventually came up with a good one to do.

You will personify a bed, from beginning to end. If nothing else this should get some really interesting entries. You can do a poem or short story. The type of bed if up to ya. A Double Bed inside a mansion or single with built in massage feature in a motel. It's all up to ya.

Ends: June 26th 2008

Prize:
First: Five Reviews on any peices you wish and 500 points
Second: Three reviews on any peices you wish
Third: One review on the peice of my choosing.

Rules:
One entry only.
Allowed to enter an older peice
Permission to use swears if you wish, but in moderation.

RESULTS

First: Icaruss' "The Bed"

Second: Eimear's "Morning Tremors"

Third: Is a tie between cmarie159's "A Bed" and scasha's "Speechless"

No, post them seperately. Other than that, anymore questions?

I'll do a bed in a whorehouse. Is there a word limit?

I'm done. It's not that long and it took my like half an hour to write, but I still think it's pretty good. Nothing much happens, so it isn't really a story. The way I see it, there isn't much movement in a bed's life. There's routine and thinking. Lots of thinking. Things happen around it, and it can't do anything to stop them or make them happen. And about the title: I couldn't think of anything else.

Hmm, nice contest. I'll have to give this a try.

By the way, does the personification have to be in first person, as in narration from the bed's point of view? Guess not, but assure me.

So I just finished mine, a poem. It's going to take a lot of tweaking and such to make it at all worthy, and even then I'm considering expanding it into prose instead.

Still, it's a lot of fun, and actually makes me think that I'm doing something with my study leave!

Excitement!
