So, how long (how many words) have gotten your longest story to be?
(This might not be in the right forum, but I was just wondering how long some could get)
My longest story - so far - would have to be about 60,000 words.
Also, how many words (at the least) would you consider a novel? |

My novel (thus far) is around 20,000 words...that's eight chapters out of twenty-nine, though. But it is the longest story I've written.
I think 'novel' starts after 25,000 words...but I think that because 25k is where the 'Novella' category ends. |

FanFiction (not on here): 24,406 words (so far.)
Regular: About 5,000.
I REALLY need to write a novel...Jeez! I'm stuck in the short stories phase.

I never counted the words, but the first draft of a novel I wound up chucking was about 180 looseleaf pages...averaging out at about 250 words per page...so....
45,000, give or take. |

| My longest was about 22,000 but I was only halfway through the story. I say around 30,000+ is a novel. |

I am currently at around the 20,000 mark, but I am aiming for around 160,000.

66,000 words. Took my a year. I was a very happy 12-year-old.
Unfortunately, almost nothing had happened in those 66k words, so I got bored and ditched it. The closest I've come since is in NaNoWriMo where I got 50,042. Otherwise, my stories don't to hit the 20k mark. |

My ongoing novel right now is at 77,000 words--which is definitely the longest I've ever written. I've still got about 50,000 more to go :/
My average with all my other stories is probably like 20k, but then again I never do finish them. |

| I'm at like 38,000, but I'm on a sabbatical (lol, sounds so professional). When I'm finished it may be around 50,000. |

50,000 words is the acknowledged minimum count for a novel. So you're there.
My longest novel - Honor - is slightly over 80,000 words. As soon as I finished editing, however, that count will fluctuate.

My longest is my first draft of my first novel.
It weighed in at about 49,000.
Re-drafting should take it to around 55,000-60,000.
Each word is like extracting a tooth. I'm quite a slow writer, seeing as I started it last september when I first started to give writing a go.

My novel which I'm just about to finish editing (the end of the week I'm aiming for ) is about 140,000 words. I've written a couple of others (which were rubbish ) and they were all about 75-100,000 words.
I think a novella tends to be up to about 40-50,000. An average novel about 50-100,000. |

| My longest (at the moment) is about 60k. Before that and NaNo last year, I could never stick with anything long enough for it to get past many 20(?) pages, so I was really proud of myself, even though the story that's 60k is in DIRE need of editing. I have to finish it first, though. I'm very excited, though! I've never finished anything before. |
