Okay, this is a contest for fantasy/sci-fi writers (but heck, if you think you can write a poem for this go for it) about someone who's different. They can be shape-shifters, half-ghost, whatever. No realistic fiction.

Either post an attachment here or post the story in the correct forum and PM me a link. No more than 3000 words, though if you go a few hundred over it doesn't matter.

Prizes:

1st-100 points + acritque on this piece+ one other crit of your choice

2nd-50 points + crit of your choice

3rd-50 points

Great idea, CK Lynn! This is the first time I've entered a contest, and I'm starting now. Smile

Me neither, but I'll enter this one!

I hope you don't mind me mentioning, teenweirdo (sorry, don't know your name), but you joined the same day as me, you have the same icon, and you are the same age and sex. I found it really weird, I thought that i posted here before or I was hallucinating or something.

Holy crap! Shocked

That's the strangest coincidence I've ever seen that involved me, seshat77. When I went to check on this post, I saw my avatar and thought that I'd double posted, but there was a different username there! Freaky!

Anyway, my name's Jamie. Maybe I should put that in my signature so people know what to call me.

But, I mean, WEIRD!

This should be interesting. I think I'll attempt an entry.

I'll write this on the spot. If there's any spelling mistakes, it's because I wrote it directly into the post. Pretty proud of it actually. Didn't really have a plan, but liked how it turned out. Peter Mulligan's comic, The Human Target, kept popping up in my head. Alright, so here we go. I'll also be posting this in the Science-Fiction section. I also like the title.

SHIFT, SHAPE. SHIFT!

Eep, yes. As soon as finals are over, and I can start thinking about creative writing again, rather than philosophy.

I'd like to enter. I've got a story going that just might do the trick.

Is there a designated word limit to the contest?
