So, Why Are You Posting This?

Because I’m awesome. Razz Also, I have been on critiquing binges lately, meaning that there isn’t as much for me to critique. I personally don’t like reviewing old work; most of the author’s have edited or are much better, so getting a critique on it is pretty useless. If they post here telling me that they want one, I will gladly do so. This way everyone’s happy.

I also want another star. Razz

What Do You Like To Critique?

-Action/Adventure: I have a lot of experience here.
-Fantasy Fiction: Not as much experience, but I have given several good reviews here.
-Historical Fiction: I’m not the best at this; I won’t know if it’s correct or not. If you get dates and stuff messed up, I won’t be able to tell you. I can tell you how it is as a story, though.
-Romantic Fiction: I’ve also had a lot of experience in this genre, just not in real life.
-Other Fiction: I love this thread; the stories are so interesting!
-Advanced Critiques: I am willing, but expect it to take a little while.

What Don’t You Like To Critique?

-Fan Fiction: I don’t watch much television, and I read really random, unknown books. I can critique ones on Maximum Ride, though, and possibly others. Just ask.
-Non-Fiction: Again, just ask. I don’t want to do diaries and stuff, but there are some things I am willing to do, like speeches. This genre just doesn’t have (much) creativity in it, so it’s hard to critique.
-Science Fiction: You may ask, but I doubt I will agree. I have no experience here.
-Poetry: Go ahead and ask. It won't be in-depth, but I'm getting better at these.
-Lyrics: Can't do them.
-Art and Photography: Same as poetry.
-Scripts: I have no experience in this, but I can help on content and character development.
-Chapter 23: Meaning if you want me to review something, send me a link to chapter one, or tell me about the whole thing in Advanced Critiques. I will most likely critique the whole story, but I don’t want to start in the middle.
-‘Anything of mine:’ Too broad; pick a few pieces and link them. Link all of your work; I really don’t care.
-Critiques with a million reviews: If you still need help with a certain aspect, let me know. If not, I won't critique it - I don't want to repeat everyone.
-Sex: Anything R is fine, as long as there are no graphic sex scenes. (I have a strong stomach, though; I can handle the gore. Razz)

What Are You Good At Finding?

-Grammar/Spelling
-Emotions
-Flow
-Description
-Character Development

That’s off the top of my head. I may be good with other things, I’m not sure. I usually find a lot of things others don’t notice, though.

Do You Have Any Examples?

I’m very different in my critiques (although similar to Cal.) I copy your piece into Word and use Track Changes to fix grammatical/spelling errors, and Comments for the lines that need work. At the end I answer any questions you may have, and give an overall critique of the piece. Sometimes I get lazy and just add an attachment. Wink Below are examples, since it is rather odd:

-First Kiss <--My new best to date.
-Freedom Fighters <--My second best to date.
-Kidnapped, Chapter Two
-In The Night

Would You Like Anything In Return?

It’s not necessary, but I would always like critiques on my work. Just ask in your post or PM me about it, since the pieces I need critiques on are constantly changing.

You choose

Sad I am sad, because I can't beg a critique for my romance since you've already critiqued it! Oh well.

If you're up to it, Diary of a Villain *hugs her baby* has a new prologue and I am looking for feedback on it. ^_^
Part 1: http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/topic26581.html
Part 2: http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/topic26947.html

I'll settle for only a review on the first part, though. =P

Thanks a bunch!

I'd love a couple more crit's on my prologue to decide whether I keep posting it.

I could use more opinions on "The Monster" before I officially decide how I'm going to edit it:

Thanks a lot if you do!

We all fall down

I'd be really appreciative if you could take a look at that. It's kind of random and has a lot of out-there metaphors, so if you don't like those kinds of things, here's something else:

Alphess: part one [revised as of 2008/03/11]

Thanks! Very Happy

Hello, everyone! Me again. I have reviewed (most) of what have been posted on here for me, and many others by the same authors.

I have good news, though! Razz

I will be on a major critiquing spree on Friday, when we have the day off for a teacher's workshop.

Please send me something to critique, and I will do so then! I really want another star!

You may send me as many pieces as you want; don't worry about being polite and only sending one thing. ;P

Just a question... is there any rating you won't approach, like R or something?

Snoink: Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. I'll do any rating, just no graphic sex scenes. O.o If you imply something I probably won't mind.

I'll add that to the original post later on.

Okay, okay... here is the link to the first part, though you don't have to start critiquing until part 3 or 4. The first few are good, my later ones need more loving. ^_^ But critique as you will!

Thank you!
