Two things:
1) I was looking at the YWS Blog. Under the "Recent Entries" on the right side of the page, the bottom link was "Visit the archives for more!" When I click that, it brings up a 404 error page. Which, for the record, said:
Click here to see the hidden message (It might contain spoilers)
You are totally in the wrong place. Do not pass GO; do not collect $200.
Instead, try one of the following:
* Hit the "back" button on your browser.
* Head on over to the front page.
* Try searching using the form in the sidebar.
* Click on a link in the sidebar.
* Use the navigation menu at the top of the page.
* Punt.
I tried this yesterday, too, and got the Dilbert comic -- so same thing, really.
2) When I'm posting (a reply, or a topic, or whatever) if I highlight a bunch of text and hit the "spoiler" button, rather than "[spoiler]" appearing on either end of the text (like it should) "undefined" appears. I had to type it out myself for it to work.
There, haha, these should keep you busy -- lol!

Geez, thanks Azila!
The spoiler bug has been reported by more than a few so I'll have to look into that. Unfortunately, the bbcode code in phpBB is really complex so it takes me a while to wade through it and figure out the problem.
With the archives in the blog, I've been trying to figure that out for a long time. I don't know why a 404 page comes up.

| I'm having a real problem on YWS. Last night it was working just fine but then it started running really slow until it gets to the point where the while site freezes all together on me. Everytime I visit the site again I have to log in, even though I always make the site remember me so I don't have to. When I woke up this morning, twelve hours later, the site was still giving me problems. It's not just my computer because every other site I visit works just fine. This is the first time I've been able to post anything or contact anyone within the site since this problem has started, will the problem be fixed on its own if I wait long enough or is this a real problem?

I'm guessing if you wait long enough, it'll clear up since YWS has been working fine for me on my computer at home and my computer at work.
Whenever a site runs slow, the fact that other sites are running fast doesn't necessarily mean much. What's probably going on is that there was a bad connection somewhere between YWS' server in California and your computer. Your IP is registering as from somewhere in Ontario, so I bet some other Canadian users are having the same issues.

When I try to look at the 101 tips for writers page, it tells me it doesn't exist.

Hey, Nate? With the "adding an inch" thing, did you mean to add an inch below the regular header buttons? 'Cuz while I like the new groups button, Help & Support is now pushed under the Home button and there's a huge white space.
I can take a screenshot for you if that would help. I'm using Firefox 3; with IE7, it's fine.
[edit] Here's a screenshot for you. I'm pretty sure you use Firefox 3 as well, since you've been promoting it, so I wonder if I'm getting something you're not?

It should all be good now. Hit refresh if it hasn't changed yet.

Hmph, and it took me forever to shrink down that screenshot, too. :p
It's all good now. Thanks, Cap'n!

| Just a heads up, 101 Tips For Writers still isn't loading. I've hit refresh several times and all it gives me is the Dilbert comic.

I'm trying to submit an article I wrote to the "Writing Tutorials" part of the knowledge base, and I keep getting this error message:
| Quote: |
Error geting users post stat
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error : 1054 Unknown column 'g.group_id' in 'on clause'
SELECT ug.user_id, g.group_id as g_id, u.user_posts, g.group_count, g.group_count_max FROM yws_groups g, yws_users u LEFT JOIN yws_user_group ug ON g.group_id=ug.group_id AND ug.user_id=3792 WHERE u.user_id=3792 AND g.group_single_user=0 AND g.group_count_enable=1 AND g.group_moderator<>3792
Line : 602
File : article_functions_post.php |
In addition, I can't save it as a draft - I get the Error 404 page. This happens in both Firefox and the latest version of IE, and I'm using Windows XP media center.

Just a minute ago (8:53 pm Utah Time XD) I clicked on 'Home' and it came up saying that there was a critical error, but then I reloaded the page, and it worked fine.

| Lynlyn -- it worked, and it posted itself five times ^^ I took care of the extra four, but got the same error message, though everything went through just fine.
