Where to start?

To put myself metaphorically: I am a patchwork quilt made of random scraps of personality, stitched together by a crazed seamstress with no idea how to fabricate a normal person.

Obviously, my name is Camille. Obviously, I'm twelve years old. Obviously, I love to write. Obviously, wolves are my favourite animals.

Now for the less obvious things about me.
I see beauty where my friends don't; in the pattern of trees against the sky, the slash of darkness at the center of a cat's eye. They laugh, roll their eyes, and I think, 'how can they not see how it's beautiful?'
I have a great number of irrational fears. I'm afraid of purple top-hats, and I honestly don't know why. And I'm not sure how irrational this fear is, but I'm always terrified after watching movies/TV shows (although I watch television like, once every six months) about global epidemics. I'm also scared that I'll be stuck in Toronto forever, and that my love of literature will fade away over the years. Maybe this fear isn't irrational, but I'm afraid that adolescent will change me beyond recognition.

On a lighter note, books are my favourite things ever I couldn't live without them, seriously. I read a book a day.
My current favourite book series are: The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness by Michelle Paver, The Mortal Instruments, and His Dark Materials. My favourite books are Soul Eater, the Last book in the universe, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, New moon, City of bones, and so many others it would take me forever to list them all.

I also love music. My favourite band is the Dave Matthew's Band, and my favourite song is the Space Between.

My favourite time is night. I love the stars, the wind, the darkness. Ice beats fire any day, but I love fire too. I'm inspired by the wild, feral beauty of nature and the behaviour of wolves.

My parents say I'm addicted to danger. As soon as I'm old enough, I'm going to jump out of an airplane and I'm going to do white-water rafting and kayaking. I always dream of flying...I wish sooo much that I had wings...

I'm rambling now, aren't I? I should finish this now.

My favourite sports are water-skiing, tubing (if that's a sport), skiing, snowboarding, archery, running and swimming. Actually, next week I'm starting fencing lessons with my cousin Vivi (Gwenevire on YWS)!

Yes. Now I'm sure that you're all thoroughly bored, so I should stop talking about myself.

Cheers,
Camille!

Cool! I don't think I've seen this before..... Do you like fencing? I like most of the same sports you do. Do you run competitively or do you just like running? What about swimming? I LOVE WHITE-WATER RAFTING! hehe, anyway..... Nice to get to know more stuff about you. Who is "the mortal instruments" by? I don't think I've read it.

Have you read the Bartimaeus trilogy or the Artimus Fowl books?

Talk to you later,

~lupis

Hey Canis! Or lupus, or whatever you want me to call you. =p

Quote:

Do you like fencing?

YES!
...yes, I do. *clears throat nervously* I've actually never tried it before (but that shall soon be remedied!) but I've always found it really interesting. Besides my slight obsession with fencing, I want to take lessons because as there is plenty of swordplay in my book, I want to write about it like I've really done it before, you know? Not just learned it in theory.

Quote:

I do both competitively. Smile
I [was] on a swim team (there's heaps of old ribbons stacked in the corners of my sock drawers to prove it) but I quit in October because all these little kids joined and they...didn't really know how to swim, so the lanes were all clogged up. But I'm thinking of re-joining and I aim to be on my school's team as well.
Every year, I participate in Cross Country school event thing, but I haven't yet gotten around to running any mini-marathon things or runs to benefit cancer research. I hope to soon, though.
I'm more of a sprinter when it comes to running. I've been on the school Track and Field relay/sprinting team for..I dunno, three years? Whatever. Sprinting is fun. Razz

Quote:

I think only the first book is out...it's called 'City of Bones'. Anyways, to answer your question, the book[s] is written by Cassandra Clare.

Quote:

Yep! The Bartimaeus trilogy rocks - I still have stacks of "pentacles" that I drew a couple years ago when I read them under my bed.

...I seem to have an obsession with talking about myself. o.o Or maybe I'm just bored? lol.

Cheers,
Camille

Wow! Cool.

I joined the swim team when it started, but they did't have enough kids to continue. I sprint too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate hurdles though. Smile When I couldn't do swim-team, I started taking lessons, but then I had to stop that too, because they didn't have enough kids in my level. I like running, though.

Fencing sounds really fun, and I've watched it, but never really tried it.

And I'll have to try and check out the Mortal Instruments book(s) if I can.

Oh, I'm outta time. See ya around!

Hiya Cam!!

His Dark Materials are great books - have you read any other Pullman books? The Butterfly Tattoo by him is my favourite book.

I like night too; it opens up a completely different world to the one you live in during the day. Unfortunately, it can open up a world of danger, death and destruction. Confused

So, what is your favourite flavour of ice cream?

The Butterfly Tattoo? I haven't read it, but it sounds really awesome - I'll be sure to check it out. Smile

That's true about the death and destruction, but it's also true about how it opens up a completely different world. Night is awesome! Very Happy

Hmm... that's a tough one. I love mint chocolate chip, but there's this other one... it has bits of chocolate and caramel in it and it's very sweet... aha! Rolo. I love rolo ice cream. Razz

Cheers,
Camille Very Happy

I have a really good friend who took fencing lessons, and she LOVED it. So, I'm sure you'll have a blast. And archery has always interested me.

No, you'r rant didn't bore me in the least bit. I found it exciting.

Have fun! Very Happy

CITYOFBONES!!!

Sigh. That was a totally hot book. I dig the main guy, forgot his name since I read the book a long time ago. But I really can't wait for the sequel.

I'm on swim team, too. What were your events?

Don't despair! When you become a famous writer, you'll have bucket loads of dough to spend on white-water rafting trips and such. :}

Jace? Razz Yeah, he was a pretty awesome character. Or Simon?

I did... *frowns and scratches head* There were a whole lot of them that I did, but the events where I placed well-ish were the Breaststroke, The relay (lol), the IAM (spelling?) and the butterfly, oddly enough.

Anyways. Smile

Cheers,
Camille

Hi Camille! I actually knew most of this from your other topic... or is this just an edit of the old one?? If not, why did you make a new one?

I dream of flying almost every night... (don't we all?) But I have learned to be content with only having wings while I sleep.

That's a nice picture, also, you're so pretty!^_^ You look a lot like your cousin...

By the way, do you pronounce your name? Embarassed Is it Cam-ILL or Cam-EEL? That's been bothering me a while. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, nice to get to know you more!

Very Happy Thank-you!
Hehe, I made a new one... I didn't really mean to, but my computer was wacking out and I thought my original had been deleted. >.>

Yeah, flying is pretty awesome. I always dream that I have wings, and, and.. they're blue! I have no idea why, but they are. =p

My name is pronounced Cam-EEL. Smile Only me French teacher pronounces it Cam-IIIII! It's so annoying. >.<

Cheers,
Camille
