Okay, I haven't done a contest in a while, so you'll have to excuse me if my logic is all messed up and I'm in a bit of a tizzy [deep breath].

Now, I want you all to describe a scene; either one of a beach, or one of a park. You could do it at whatever time of the year but you have to make sure that you're not doing it like a story; it's a descriptive piece, 'kay? Also, there's a 700 word limit, folks.

Okay, I'm going to award points for the best park description, with the two runners-up and also for the best beach description, with the two runners up. Every entrant will recieve up to a maximum of two reviews, so when you send links, or send your work through PM, be sure to outline two of your pieces of work for me to critique ^^

1st - 250 points
2nd - 175 points
3rd - 100 points

The closing date will be 23rd January 2008 and then you'll have to give me a couple of weeks to look over them all, seen as though I have to do it at school.

Good luck to everyone who enters!
GingerLove.

Actually, yes I'll put a word limit in.

No more than 700 words. I'll add that in now.

Definitely thinking of entering, but, a few questions:

It can't be written like a story? So no characters or anything? Do we have to just describe it, or can we tell it from our point of view?

Your point of view would be good, if you know what I mean;

"As I sat on the bench, I watched as..."

And so on and so forth. So yeah, I hope that helps. Smile

You don't want it to be a story, but can we have animals that move through our landscape? Or is that too much life?

If there are normally animals in the settings then that's fine, you can add them.

Just remember, not just to focus on thos animals, but on the people around it too.

Good luck, six more days till the contest ends!

Here's my entry.

Oooh, I had fun describing the beach! Has anyone else besides alleycat13 entered so far?

Well... I would like to enter, but I'm afraid I don't think I'll be able to whip one up in three days. Sad

Azila, you should enter your piece 'Midnight'!
...I shouldn't have said that! If you do, I'll have absolutely no chances of placing in the top three. xD Laughing

Anyways. I'll post the link to mine again, as soon as I'm done the edit! (If that's allowed)

Ooh, we've quite a few entries at the minute.

Azila - Give it a go! You never know, you could get some points ^^

Ayra- I think I've had four or five entrants contact me... And there's still two days left.

Good luck to everyone who entered

'Kay folks, the contest is closed now; good luck to everyone who enetered.

Give me a couple of weeks to go through the entries, as I'm pretty swamped by school work at the minute. I'll try and get to you all as soon as possible.

Should I have outlined two pieces in my portfolio? Well, here's one... and blah, critique whatever you want.

Cheers,
Camille
