Many have asked why we are here, or what happens to us when we die. Some follow religion as a guideline while other dig through science. In truth there is no definite answer, only a broad one. An answer to life and death can only be answered by one person and that is you and your answer only applies to one person, that is you.

Though one must seek these answers on his own I have found a basic plot for all of us to follow. Before I get into that though the different perspectives must be looked at. How people are with this question. Many dream, or set goals to achieve in their life time, but what then do they think of life. Others hate their life, resorting to suicide to escape and find peace in the after life. Those are the two many viewers choose on this question, but there is a third party. Those of us who look at both life and death as a whole.

Even within these three main categories there could be thousands of different twists and turns upon a grand idea. Many have spent their lives looking for an answer and many never find. One’s conclusion could be false to another. In the end all conclusion becomes opinion, but all I ask is that you listen to what I have to say, what I have found.

I became questioning my own life and at one point wished to end it. As I got closer and closer to that end I began to think what there would be after death. If when we all died we just ended, or we went to a religious belief. I began to doubt that death would be any better than life. At that point I wondered why we I was here if I was just going to die in the end. What was the point. For almost a year I was very confused.

While looking out the window one rainy day I realized something. One rain drop means nothing alone and needs others to make it worth while. Then, at the same time, every other drop relied on it as much as it did them. I came to believe that one couldn’t make it through life on ones own and always had to be there for others no matter what.

With the second question, death, I thought what happened to the rain when it had finished it’s journey to the ground. It’s journey was just beginning. It would be absorbed by the ground to serve another purpose. Death was never the end, only the beginning.

Here is what I came to realize. Who ever put us here weather it be God or not gave us life as a test. Our actions define us, our personalities shape us, our dreams push us, and our choices make us. What happens after we die I may never know, but I do know this. Where the path we follow leads, death is just one more step.
